  • Great stuff

  • Fun to see the large cars racing and cornering!

  • The original mini-coopers were wonderful.

  • MIni Car Club NSW (Australia) released this same footage in a VHS format in the mid 90. It was in colour and from memory was dated 1965, not 1964.

There was also another long BMC serial included in this tape called MIni Monte 1964.

  • I don't think I'd have ever thought of a Studebaker Lark being a racer, but that is definitely neat. Shame I haven't seen any of my Ramblers in any sedan racing vids...:/

I also think it's funny that the Galaxie seems to have been a more formidable road racer than the later Mustang.

  • I work as a volunteer official at Sandown Park.

The circuit layout has been altered since 1964 but Turn One (the end of the Main straight) and Turn Four ("Peter's Corner" in the video) are still the same today.

Great piece of historical film, thanks for sharing!

  • Fantastic parade of cars, many of wich Inever expected to race..
