  • Great video, but you go through the moves too quickly, and miss a lot of elements doing so.

  • you make such good videos.

  • the game with the low rated players is all theory....and this variation with the exchange sacrifice is totally drawish....it's in victor bologan's book about king's indian :)

  • the game that a 1600 player was playing white and won is all theory.....it seems that the black player haven't read bologan's book ;)

the exchange sacrifice just gives white a dead draw position

  • well the system is unsound against the bayonet, why have Kasparov and Fischer had so much success with it?

  • @wetriddim because were wc and very precise player. to play again the bayonnet attack yuo need to be very precise.

  • how bout ...Na6 lines against the classical? it's what i do. black trying to get in Wade's defense score pretty decently and you don't need to know all that much theory. i move-order my way about with 1... d6 although many respond with 1.d4 d6 2.e4 and i have problems with the Pirc. still ...Na6 is really the way to go.

  • its pronounced van wayly btw ^^

  • Do any top players play the KID anymore? Or has 9. b4 really put the KID to rest.

  • @md65000 as a matter of fact nakamura beated the world champion anand recently with black with the KID... on a crazy rollercoaster game... although anand made a blunder, because he had a huge advantage, then nakamura was mercyless, and played the attack perfectly....

  • I followed this game live on the internet. I'm pretty sure Van Wely prepared this sack followed by the Nxe4 move at home.

He's a specialist in the bayonet attack with white pieces.

  • But he lost a game in this same line against Stellwagon when he found an improvement over this game.

  • thanks. have to study this deeper. im an e4 player tho..

  • Interestingly Van Wely had recommended g5 instead of h5 for black at 1:55 in a magazine (before this game was ever played), yet when he played the line as white Radjabov played h5 and got crushed.

The third game is just very bad... Djukic is actually very high rated 2519!!! This shows that even strong players can look human when playing sharp openings without proper preparation.

  • The KID is certainly viable in the right hands: Radjabov, Smirin, Fischer, and Kasparov all use (or used) it as their primary weapon against d4. They all have enjoyed excellent results with it. The only reason more top players don't use it is because of the amount of work needed to put into this single defense.

  • Very interesting. Have little knowledge of the KI but have always shied away from b4 because of the bishop on the long diagonal. Somehow the thought of my unprotected rook gives me the willies, but will try it now.

  • What's Goin On Here?!?!

  • WHO WON THE OLYMPIAD???

  • Bobby Fischer.

  • enjoyed that!

  • any examples of successful defense of this attack

  • There is a Radjabov draw towards the end of this video

  • so i is the moral of the story that the kings indian is a thing of the past?

  • No way! There's two sides to the story.

  • why isnt high quality available???

  • Have you considered setting up your own website and taking donations from willing viewers? Just a thought cause i definitely would donate just for the immense time and effort you put towards these presentations combined with the quality. Though i do not mind a free analysis!

  • Just great...i will used it soon..ty.

    :-D

  • very cool

  • These are really excellent. It's like a full Kingscrusher Opening Repertoire! I expect the 400 page book to be coming out soon.

  • same
