I'm part of a minority that grew up in Toronto, so I can say this with authority. Of course, I am willing to be educated on how there is a real oppressive element in Canada that prevents people from having any social upward mobility. Seriously, Intelligent progressive hip-hop requires certain things, unfortunately this didn't deliver as far as I'm concerned, I'm interested in seeing what else this cat has to put in front of us, but as of the moment I'm unimpressed. I appreciate some of what they're doing on Freedom Writers, Adam Bomb "Wasted Talent" and "My People" were hot, and intelligent. I believe that everyone needs to step their game up, and put out properly polished stuff, it is what it is.

With you here, its obvious that this guy has mad talent, has a sick ear for beats, but the topic choice leaves a weird aftertaste. Like I can't fully feel it. Maybe it's because the "Western world is evil" shtick has been done to death, Progress isn't really saying anything new, and I'm not convinced why there should even be a "resistance" in a country like Canada. In a hyper capitalistic country where it favors Anglo-saxons in power (America), I can understand the angst.
