Okay having been 8 years old when "The Sign" was a hit I can comfortably say this: The only time it's appropriate to do a "cover" of this, ironic or no, is when you're an 8 year old girl, it's 1993-4 and you're either A) at a roller rink and it comes on or B) you're at a slumber party.
