I first read the Sissi books, they were my mom´s first, then here in Mexico, the movies were proyected at the cinema, so we could enjoy those sweet stories...poor Sissi, I would wish her life was as tender, loving and positive as it is shown in the movies! Beautiful video i love the song i never saw this movie before but i am interested to see it because i learned about the real Sissi when i went to Greece in 2008 on a cruise one of the places i stop i can't think of the name of the place i took a tour of her house and it was really fantastic and the tour guide told the story about the real Sissi i thought it was really incredible.
My mother was a huge fan of Romy when she was a teenager and I grew up watching Sissi with her! It was always a big "not to be missed" event when it was shown on TV (before DVD)! The most beautiful actress! sadly she started hating her Sissi image, she played prostitutes and killers in her french movies, but they are great as well. But Sissi always makes my heart melt.

I have never understanded, when I read that Sissi was unhappy. After that I saw the film, and I understanded it: Sissi was unhappy, because she spent a little time with Ferenc and her mother-in-law, Zsófia was evil.
Hi i love this movie, too. And there is this Musical called Elisabeh and it tells the sad story about her life, so i was shocked when i heard the music and also read the biographie. But in the end this movie belongs to christmas in Germany. Every year we can watch it in television.

the movie is not a lie!!! she did love him and he did love her, but they let daily life kill the love they had for each other. It's a shame that Romy's daughter doesn't get to play her mom in the movie about her life, she is just as beautiful as Romy was. I think Romy had love in her life, but also had too many tragedies to endure and she chose a bad way to cope with pain because it killed her and deprived of sharing life with her daughter.

I love these movies, but I wonder what the producers were thinking. Elisabeth and Franz didn't get married in the church shown here. This is St. Michaels church. They got married in the Augustinian Church.
Further, same mistake with their coronation in Hungary. The scene was again taken in St. Michaels church in Vienna. In my opinion, very very bad mistakes!
In fact Sissi didn't like to be an Hapsburg, but I believe that Hapsburg family caused only stability and peace and after the ruin of the Empire there were Hitler and the Communist, that really caused the misery of Central Europe.
Empress Elisabeth was a melancholic woman and she had to overcome several tragedies during her life, but she was also a learned and intelligent woman and an excellent horsewoman. She had a strong character and she was a very modern and indipendent woman.
She hated the etiquette and part of aristocracy. She died in the way she wanted: without pain and sorrow.
I love all 3 movies about Sissi, it's been one of my all time favorites! thanks for sharing the video, and broken vow was the perfect song to dedicate to her! it just makes your heart ache when you learn the cruel truth about her life!

Yes, the movies are great, but if you do some research, you'll learn that the Emperor often cheated on her. They didn't love each other as much as it is portrayed in the movies. In the end, they despised each other and Sissi travelled a lot. Most of her kids died before her (some of them comitted suicide). So you shouldn't believe too much in what is shown in the movie, but it's sweet nonetheless. I like watching them very much.

Ja, die Filme sind toll, aber wer sich mal schlaugemacht hat, der weiss, dass der Kaiser sie oft betrogen hat. Sie liebten einander nicht so sehr wie es in den Filmen gern dargestellt wird. Am Ende konnten sie sich nicht mehr ausstehen und Sissi ist viel auf Reisen gewesen. Fast alle ihre Kinder sind noch vor ihr gestorben (zum Teil haben sie sich umgebracht). Man sollte dem Film also nicht zu viel Glauben schenken, aber süß ist er trotzdem. Ich sehe sie mir sehr gern an.

The real Sisi and Romy had no love because they gave no love. They were cruel women, cruel towards their husbands, cruel towards their children, cruel towards everybody. What do you expect?
I want it in English too. My German just can't cut it. Apparently it aired with English subtitles on SBS Australia in January but, ironically, I was on holidays in Austria and missed it. Maybe next year.
How can you say such things? This is simply not true... Read some biography's and you'll know. They both had sad lives, but not because they were cruel! Especially Romy was a very lovely woman, with not much luck in her life...
How can I? Well, Romy S. drove her first husband into suicide, let her son die in an accident, divorced her second husband, neglected her daughter and finally killed herself. Wonder how much love she deserved.
Her first husband killed himself for several reasons. That their marriage failed was not only Romy's fault. Her son died in an accident yes, but she did not let it happen! When climbing, he slipped and fell on the points of a fence, very horrible and tragic! How could she have prevented that? It devestated her! She devorced her second husband also for several reasons. And with that, she is often used by people, for several awfull reasons. I really don't think anybody deserves such tragedies!

Romy was used always from chilhood by her parents and later the men used her and that all together caused her dead.

It's not always possible to film in the right locations .Example in Hungary was that time (1956) a real revolution and very dangerous.

Yes, the movies are great, but if you do some research, you'll learn that the Emperor often cheated on her. They didn't love each other as much as it is portrayed in the movies. In the end, they despised each other and Sissi travelled a lot. Most of her kids died before her (some of them comitted suicide). So you shouldn't believe too much in what is shown in the movie, but it's sweet nonetheless. I like watching them very much.

Ja, die Filme sind toll, aber wer sich mal schlaugemacht hat, der weiss, dass der Kaiser sie oft betrogen hat. Sie liebten einander nicht so sehr wie es in den Filmen gern dargestellt wird. Am Ende konnten sie sich nicht mehr ausstehen und Sissi ist viel auf Reisen gewesen. Fast alle ihre Kinder sind noch vor ihr gestorben (zum Teil haben sie sich umgebracht). Man sollte dem Film also nicht zu viel Glauben schenken, aber süß ist er trotzdem. Ich sehe sie mir sehr gern an.

if you live, like me in zone 1 ntsc, all you have to do is buy a philips dvp series, like philips dvp642... and unlock it so it can read all dvd zones ^^

I want it in English too. My German just can't cut it. Apparently it aired with English subtitles on SBS Australia in January but, ironically, I was on holidays in Austria and missed it. Maybe next year.

How can you say such things? This is simply not true... Read some biography's and you'll know. They both had sad lives, but not because they were cruel! Especially Romy was a very lovely woman, with not much luck in her life...

How can I? Well, Romy S. drove her first husband into suicide, let her son die in an accident, divorced her second husband, neglected her daughter and finally killed herself. Wonder how much love she deserved.

Her first husband killed himself for several reasons. That their marriage failed was not only Romy's fault. Her son died in an accident yes, but she did not let it happen! When climbing, he slipped and fell on the points of a fence, very horrible and tragic! How could she have prevented that? It devestated her! She devorced her second husband also for several reasons. And with that, she is often used by people, for several awfull reasons. I really don't think anybody deserves such tragedies!

I didn't say she deserved such tragedies, I just said she didn't deserve too much love. Many people, like you, let themselves be fooled by a pretty face. Behind that mask is often the devil in disguise.

You could get Siss from ebay. I got the first and 2nd from there with english sub. I'm still looking for the last part with english sub.
