Hey! I have a problem here, my guitar cost 1/1000 of yours and when I hammeron the 9th fret there are loads of overtones. When I move it to somewhere else on the fretboard it just doesnt sound right. Of course I move it to the right pitch - but still, doesnt sound right. Any suggestions to what might help?

@bluedagger46 You could adjust the action, screw around with the tuning, get new strings, clean off old strings, or spend a few thousand on a high quality handmade guitar. That last one might not be an option, I've got a cheapo (50$) acoustic.

@cRaZyTRimZ umm actually, John Mayer does own an omjm, find a video on youtube where his guitar tech René Martinez actually goes through what john uses. and the omjm john uses has a big scratch mark below the scratch plate. if you've gone to see john play live, he actually uses the omjm for a couple of acoustic songs. he's pretty proud of his own martin signature guitar u know..

Same thing goes for that tricky part in the middle of the verses in why Georgia. The only video I've seen of someone playing that 100 percent properly is John Mayer.
