The beacon can be different in location every time. Last two videos I saw it was some really easy to find spot. Mine was in a Dwemer ruin full of automatons AND bandits -_-

It depends on your play style if you like quick attacks then have a sword but if you prefer slow but stronger attacks have the mace.

The war axe has half the speed of the sword and half the damage of the mace so its a sort of cross between the two.

Personally i prefer swords and bow but it depends on what you prefer.

I did try this to get the mace and like you said you did it like 5 times, thats about as much as i tried but i did it during the day so if your doing the same go to the inn and sleep till its about 9 at night then go look, it worked for me
