if you like a challenge then yes, its takes a lot of practice to play it well. There are around 40 gambits and you should know most of them., traits make a lot of difference for the warden b/c of the 3 totally different trait lines- way or the spear,shield and fist. Its a class of variety, deal high dps with the spear- Be able to hold and defeat multiple mobs with the shield and be the tank with the fist. What server do you play on? :)
@ForzaAquila I was not arguing that Wardens are not a dps class because they are not, they are tanks. What is a lie in your comment is that its one of the classes with the worst dps/dmg, that is not true. Wardens have great dps and have a lot of DoT gambits which greatly increases the damage dealt.
@Ryalnotch that's why it takes a hunter half the amount of time of that level to finish of that creep? when i duel against a warden i usually lose but not because they have high damage, but because they got a lot of defense. if you've seen a fight like this you'll realize it takes the warden around 2 minutes to kill a hunter usually or even more. list of classes with higher damage: hunter, rune keeper, champion, burglar and captain. and arguably even lore master.

@ForzaAquila Actually one of my few high lvls are a guardian since i love the tanking classes, and the guardian even in OP stance have no chance against the Warden dps wise.. And as i said i have Played ALL classes except burg and i got them all over lvl 35 with exception my cappy. One thing you might underestimate with the warden is the player behind it, some wardens are nearly useless and some are incredible. Its a advanced class which can be played in many different ways.
I don't think that warden is very difficult, I am getting end game equips on mine, and I'm really enjoying it. it's pretty easy to control gambits because they are repeatative.
I don't think it's smart to play multiple characters at the same time, they will just confuse you. But at lvl 65 when you start doing some harder instances and raids, people will ask you to some pretty hard stuff, like kiting two mobs with 100k and 75k morale for 5-6 minutes without any support.

@XiiMATTYiiX Max level is currently 65, but sometime around fall the expansion "Rise of Isengard" will be released which will raise the maximum level to 75.
the warden is a tank as well as being able to heal himself. they are fast and agile, and have a lot of heatlh. it requries a fast reflex being able to combine 3 basic attacks to create powerful combos. these combos range from healing to increasing might, to dealing out large amounts of damage
im 65 warden being playing the class for over a year and a half and love it... this Warden class has recieved alot of crap, with ignorant players saying the class "sucks" and wardens cant tank, etc, etc...
the truth is... wardens arnt easy... sure, any Dick Tom or Harry can jump on a warden and bust out a few gambits... but to use this class to its full potential and get results... it takes time..how ever, you will reap the rewards, and kick arse in any situation !
You play very defensively, I cant seem to get that aspect down (24 warden). Most of what I do is lay in spear gambits, it only takes about 1 to drop an orc
@h1r43th4l1v3 Well for me it was Warden. I have a 33 guard and love the up close combat. But at the same time I liked the strategy of say a lore master. If you like high damage up close and personal, I would suggest a Warden. If your more laid back and like to dish damage from afar, go with an rk. To me a Warden is the better of the two but it depends on your play style. And thats my two cents :)
I chose the human guardian because of the tanking skill that they are able to pull off, but it seems that the warden has even more morale then a guardian. Kinda makes me question that decision. Great game.

Actually i think you'll find the Warden class is actually based of the old Noldor King Gil-Galad. Haldir never used a bow or spear. Gil-Galad on the otherhand was remembered from the last alliance going into battle with his shield and lance.
Player-skill is an integral part to becoming a successful Warden. It's all about knowing what gambit you'll need 'before' it becomes necessary, and executing it flawlessly. That's probably one area some people have trouble with: stuffing up even one gambit against many or a single powerful foe can be a disaster, especially if lag is an issue.

hey, im a lvl 12 warden at the moment and i keep going down to really low health when fighting even just 1 creature. i have about 700 hp and i go down about 100hp per battle. what am i doing wrong? when do wardens become good?

Keep in mind man that after a certain time, people dont wanna hang out. They go home and watch TV. Some people hang out with friends then go home and play LOTRO. Other people go home and get on youtube.
The Warden is nearly the most difficult class to play and most players can't handle it. That's the reason because other players are thinking that the warden isn't a tank. But if you can play this class it is more powerful as a Guardian or a champion. Wardens can heal themselves and are able to deal heavy damage and damage over time while they are still healing themselves. I soloed Carn Dum with my warden, so I know what I'm talking about.
Wardens use shield gambits to heal (those always go shield, spear, shield, etc)
The heal is a hot (heal over time) and dont heal so much cause its only 2 heal pips (once each 3 seconds, for 6 seconds total)
With some shield traits you'll be able to get more pips, wich wont increase how fast you heal but you'll be more free to land other gambits while its still taking effect
You can also use the determination stance that greatly increases your combat regen
well i made an elf and i really regreat it. I think that the best race is man but the hobbits can take more damage, but dont do as me and make an elf:P
your right but a warden is a second hand tank so i think man and hobbits are better but thats only a small difference. But my warden is acually a good tank even though its an elf.
well when i was 10 it was same for me because in every fight we are using about 5 gambits + like 12 "normal" attacks but im higher lvl now and i've notice that i dont looses as much power any more
sorry dude, but your shit/average you can only kill 2/3 orcs just use 2 of the best heal gambits slot "way of the shield" traitsfor good blocks and heals and then you can totaly take 2/3 boss orcs.
When you ambushed the archer, you should have moved around to the right, behind the wall. This will prevent the archer from shooting his arrows and forces him to move closer to you. That's called LOS (line of sight) Use that to draw ranged mobs to you. It will save you time and grief. Also, if you need to kite, get off 2 heal gambits then run, in your case do Safeguard then Preserve (in that order).

Game is fun.
This class unfortunately is not free to play.
Their gambit system is nice, don't have to have all your gambit abilities hot barred which saves room. Beware of there mana(power) issues.
I muscled through it but its something that always makes me cringe, I believe these guys are the least mana efficient class at the mid-lower levels.

well i made an elf and i really regreat it. I think that the best race is man but the hobbits can take more damage, but dont do as me and make an elf:P

I think elves are the best for warden, for what its worth..its based on the elf-warden Haldir..
Agility..its sweet! .. wardens arent meant to be like guardians. They are fast attackers,perfect for elves imo.

your right but a warden is a second hand tank so i think man and hobbits are better but thats only a small difference. But my warden is acually a good tank even though its an elf.

well when i was 10 it was same for me because in every fight we are using about 5 gambits + like 12 "normal" attacks but im higher lvl now and i've notice that i dont looses as much power any more

sorry dude, but your shit/average you can only kill 2/3 orcs just use 2 of the best heal gambits slot "way of the shield" traitsfor good blocks and heals and then you can totaly take 2/3 boss orcs.

When you ambushed the archer, you should have moved around to the right, behind the wall. This will prevent the archer from shooting his arrows and forces him to move closer to you. That's called LOS (line of sight) Use that to draw ranged mobs to you. It will save you time and grief. Also, if you need to kite, get off 2 heal gambits then run, in your case do Safeguard then Preserve (in that order).
