  • Strat FTW

  • 5:52 - very angus young ish

  • Distortion + amp, makes any guitar sound like anything and do not forget the producing in the studio. It really is a package of everything !

  • Strats where is at

  • an LP or SG with coil tapping will do the trick

  • I could happily live the rest of my life with a strat and an sg

  • The SG reigns supreme in my opinion, both in looks and sound.

  • I Love STRAT sound!!!

  • This should be required viewing for every new guitarist. Demonstrates the difference in sound between the 3 models. Great job!

  • How does he do those guitar licks/scales

    ?

  • @Daveed273 He moves his fingers around the board and picks the strings!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Daveed273 Derp

  • Strat FOOREEUUVAAARR!!!

  • for the hard rock and metal SG, for blues and classic rock les paul

  • What's vintage mode??

  • Not to sound greedy I WOULD TAKE THEM ALL!!! But I suck so they would sound awful regardless

  • strat

  • Les Paul forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Definitely the SG

  • ...although for classic rock, the SG takes the tone. I want both of them!

  • That les paul sounds fuckin' sick.

  • The les paul is almost the same sound as strat here....

  • what song is the one he starts to play right when it shows the SG?

  • dont like the amp...

  • SG- EPIC WIN ^^!!

  • skills....... That amp is effin awesome.

  • If you have 9's on anything, they sound like 9's.

  • Men play Gibson

    Beach Boys play Strats

  • @9funn or ibanez rg2228

  • @9funn :-D Laughing my face out!

  • @9funn i guess aldo nova is a real man and hendrix wanted to be a beach boy....get a clue........

  • @motelmanify so sorry to hurt your feelings with my personal opinion that was not my intention.:( rock on, and sell lots of antiques! :)

  • @9funn like Hendrix?

  • @9funn Beach Boys used jag's.

  • @9funn there's not really a smart way to come back to that so ill stick with a nice fuck that

  • This dude has one hell of a right hand..wicked rhythm sense! Les Paul...

  • This was a retarded comparison.

  • Strat rocks here, and of course player ;D

  • LES PAUL

  • strat is cleaner, i like it betta awesome video

  • i think the start gives a fuller fatter sound. theres more tone to it.

  • Whats the first song he plays?

  • BTW YOU'RE A GREAT GUITAR PLAYER MAN xD

  • What's the name of the song at 2:21?

  • for me it goes strat, sg (close behind), and as much as I respect the legacy and the impact of the les paul, its just not my style

  • I feel like this guy usually plays an LP

  • LP

  • I found the SG to be a nice balace between the Les Paul and Stratocaster but personally I find the SG looks somewhat unattractive. I've found that a Fat Strat or HSS Strat is the most versatile and best compromise between these tones. You get sparkly cleans from the single coils but a nice full crunch from the humbucker in the bridge. It's easier to make a clean tone dirty than it is making a dirty tone sound clean.

  • 1st place les paul

    2nd place sg

    3rd place strat

  • @Max45090 Ur so Right about this its my opinion too

  • @Max45090 Ur tottaly right dude

  • What is the first song the guys plays?

  • Les Paul and strat great guitars for the type of music this guy plays, sg guitar sounds really ugly!

  • what kind of music has he played in the beginning with the clean stratocaster sound.

  • the strat sound considerably better than the others clean, but the others werent bad just not as "full". With gain the SG was very crisp and the LP was crisp but bassier. With gain the strat was very fuzzy. Each have their own appeal.

  • I kinda want a strat just for clean playing.

  • What everybody should remember is that this is all out of the bridge pickup. I like that creamy sound for the SG's neck pickup. Something I can't get out of a Les Paul.

  • look his face at 5:03 Haha

  • I listened without looking and had someone tell me when the changes happened. I found the Gibsons far more subtle with a wider range of expression. The SG sounded more fun, edgy, and energetic. The Les Paul was more smooth and creamy. The strat is a great instrument but has that scalded cat yowl in almost every note. I don't care for it.

  • strat for clean

    sg for distortion

  • the les paul wins

  • SG. playing an SG is like playing jesus.

  • SG Without a doubt! The SG is the my favorite but all three are great.

  • i play a strat but i think he sounded the best on the les paul

  • Les paul is ok, but it's really heavy, and too bassy for my tastes.

  • STRAT! STRAT! STRAT!

  • Like the Strat. Rivera makes a great product...congrats Paul! Diego Izurieta (ex-JBL Pro employee!)

  • SG is the best

  • there is nothing compared to a real authentic fender stratocaster. period.

  • i prefer the strat because its more melodic than the other

  • Gibson and Jackson/Charvel/ESP nothing less, nothing more.

  • @guitarvideoman Hey! can you PLEASE write tabs for the licks that you play from - 0:14-1:00 and from 1:48-2:18. This would be greatly appreciated because those licks are indredible! PLEASE!

  • Something about this guy reminds me of Gollum/Smeagol. My precious guitar!

  • @lockpicker2k u made my day for this comment ! lmfao

  • what song is that?

  • We must all still remember that the SG is a version of a Les Paul, so you will get the warmth and crunch, and almost as much sustain as the Les Paul. Since the guitar is light and thin, you will get the twang and brightness of a Telecaster and a Stratocaster. So, in my opinion the SG is the most versatile guitar out there.

  • great playing, nice technique and you have an easy command of the fretboard. all three are wonderful guitars, but my heart goes out to the SG. It has the woof of the humbuckers combined with the articulation of the strat.

  • Honestly I like the SG the best I'm probably going to get an Epiphone though.

  • @PANDACRAP1 don't waste your money on a shitiphone!

  • @smOfficialMusic not all are so bad, i got the slash ephone it sounds all most as good as a gibson! :)

  • @greenday5682217 Is everything stock in it? because my friend has the Epiphone Les Paul Plus Top and it isn't good at all! The Pickups are shitty and the tone is good for anything! I have a Gibson SG Robby Kreiger Signature with a Meastro Vibrola and the thing ROCKS! He also doesn't have a good amp and I have a Vox AC30 so that's probably another reason his Epiphone doesn't good. Cheers!

  • @smOfficialMusic it has semore duncan 2 pro pickups, and i ussaly use a marshal MG 50 wat amp :)

  • @greenday5682217 Marshal combos are very nice. Congratulations! I myself like tube amps over solid state amps like your Marshal MG50, but some of them are very nice! My Vox AC30 is a vintage, since my dad used it in the 60's and the 70's ever since he was 15, and before him, my grandpa used it! The thing is so beat up, but that just makes the tone so much more fuller! I love the damn thing, but it's ancient!

  • Les Paul is my choice, sounds good on clean and killing on crunch and hi gain. I like fender more for cleans, but it is not that good for hi gain.

  • I think they are all great sounding they are each made for different styles of playing so they are hard to compare

    example-

Gibson sg: made for hard rock

    Strat: made for clean blues

Gibson les paul: made for heavy blues and bass

they all have different tones, the strat has the least bass, the sg is in the middle, and the les paul sounds really bassy

  • @baseballguitarguy456 It is usually Les Paul Standards that are made for hard rock since they have a fatter sound due to more windings in their pickups. The sound on an SG tends to be thinner.

  • @baseballguitarguy456 id have to dissagree on that one i think the les paul is great for hard rock and a variety of rock styles. the sg passes in the same category but is also used for country and the strat has a clean thin tone good for many styles as well

  • @baseballguitarguy456 your comment really helped me! i want a sg because it is in middle so good for metal, hardrock and... SOLOS!!!!

  • @baseballguitarguy456 forgot something, for clean its way more then beautifel! amazing guitar, cheaper as les paul, less weigth and the edges of the les paul hurt!

  • @baseballguitarguy456 actualy les pauls have alot of treble ... look at the switch position on the les paul during the clean parts ... its on the neck pickup which is typically the bassiest of its two pickups ... then when he distorts it he sets it to bridge which really tells nothing for a lot of distortion tone comes from the amp ... the more gain the less guitar tone you hear

  • @baseballguitarguy456 thats y id pick a les paul so u can play some skrillex

  • @baseballguitarguy456 les paul has more mids and treble actually. Its because of the maple cap (maple being a very hard wood)

  • i want o buy a sg standard

  • The les paul in this video looked like Randy Rhoads's guitar :O

  • you cant beat a les paul.

  • Makes me want to buy an sg standard.

  • Comment removed

  • Rickenbacker for the win.

  • Reis, vê isto em baixo

  • If I played like that I'd break a smile every now and then . . .

  • Great demo! thanks! I now really want a Les Paul! Much closer to the tone I'm after!.....also, you're awesome!

  • sg medium high gain <3

  • SG is what I play..modded tho i put a duncan phat cat in the bridge she sings..

  • ima go whith the sg

  • please make another position your microphons to the loudspeakers ! the position was correct, if the microphons stay by the side of a loudspeaker. never do the position to the center of a loudspeaker, it sounds not well and not real.

you are a very good guitar player.

    greetings from munich

  • that strat is so much thinner sounding...

  • sg=rock

    les paul=classic rock

    strat=blues jazz

best three guitars in the world

if u wana guitar that can literally do all, buy a schecter c 1 plus

  • but anyway.. you cant compare strats to less pauls .... both have different sounds..... strat has a lighter tone with a mellow easy going sound... gibsons have a more rich vibrant sound

  • Username91 and if the rumors are correct about the Great Epiphone kicking Gibsons sorry ass's to the curb after over 54 years we will get to see the total calapes of a guitar company thats been fucking the consumer for years GIBSON. BY BY ASSHOLES!

  • @stratdem ..... your dum, gibsons are made better, last longer, .. its like comparing a bentley to the bently looking crysler lol or if toyota dodge made a ferarie style car, comparing that to a ferari ..

  • Username Gibson is at #5 and Fender is #1 and Epiphone is#2 Jackson is #3 and Ibanez is #4. Theres you top 5 guitar company's today. It looks im not the only one that doesnt like Gibson. Gibson is over and they never toped Fender in anything. Fender EPI

  • les paul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have the delux strat and sg standard, and they both kick ass in their own way!

  • I prefer strat, but its all time and place.

  • strat for the clean playing. The SG for screaming rock riffs. les paul for the fat tones power chord. That's my opinion. dont take my word.

  • Most of todays Epiphone SG's and Les pauls shit all over todays Gibson SG's and Les pauls Thats a plain fact. Now as far as the Fender Stratocaster. Gibson not even close to that legedary guitar period. The Fender strat is Rock n Roll and the Blues.

  • @stratdem has an anti-Gibson agenda. Disregard his comment.

  • To me, the Strat has chunky tone, the SG has clean tone, and Les Paul has clean tone, the tone is too clean. But of course, people prefer what they like ( the feel, the tone, and (sometimes) the shape.

  • I should be American Strat vs. SG reissue with maestro vs. Les Paul Custom

  • why compare and see which one is better? how about you just get all three...?

  • All great guitars, but I personally hate the way Les Pauls play. Telecasters all the way for this guy :)

  • What pick ups are in that Les Paul :O

  • bottom - lol I CAN'T SPELL

  • No guitar has the bottum end of a les paul

  • SG allday

  • strat suck!!!

  • @Edgeraze

    fag

  • beautiful :')

  • Angus Young - SG

    Jimi Hendrix - Stratocaster

    JIMMY PAGE - LES PAUL

  • super strat FTW for me in MEtal but in blues Strat for sure,

  • SG is my personal favorite..

  • i liked the mid higain setting with the sg so much

  • why is it that my strat sounds like utter crap and everyone elses doesnt :L

  • @TheStevieD09 It's either your playing or the amp

  • @SoliceProductions oh ok lol it might be my playing coz i dont use my strats very often :L my amp is brilliant though :L

  • the sg looks like butter in your hands.... so awesome

  • Awesome sound! Awesome playing!

  • Love the SG sound ... just cant get used to the odd feel comin off a fender . . . ~ cannonsville69

  • call the border patrol!

  • les paul owns

  • tevez?

  • @Deckone94 yes a more talented version ;)

  • awesome man

  • SG!

  • Went to the store to buy me a Les Paul... left with a strat :)

  • @AlienWorkshopSk8tr excellent! excellent!

  • @AlienWorkshopSk8tr maybe cause you didn't know the price of a LP XD i prefer the stratocaster btw.

  • @Fabiomarrabio Trust me i knew.

  • @AlienWorkshopSk8tr That's why I own both. for tonal contrast.

  • @AlienWorkshopSk8tr That's why I own both. for tonal contrast. Oops! I own all three. My SG is a standard. I would have like to own a 61' reissue. but we can't have it all. Rock on

  • @AlienWorkshopSk8tr well i'm sorry but you're an idiot

  • @ThisIsS000Sad everyone has personal preference, so shut up.

  • @smOfficialMusic i didnt mean that seriously, thats what i hate about the internet, you cant express emotion or sarcasm. sorry, you're right. i prefer the les paul but whatever you like playing better.

  • @ThisIsS000Sad dude im sorry i didnt mean to sound like a douche my bad dude im sorry and I prefer SG over anything lol

  • @smOfficialMusic np, i understand, you cant tell wwhether i was being sarcastic or what. and as far as looks go i a cherry sg is the sexiest guitar ever created

  • @ThisIsS000Sad I got a cherry one with a Maestro Vibrola on it. Sexiest beast you will ever see!

  • @smOfficialMusic epi or gibson?

  • @ThisIsS000Sad Gibson obviously haha i will never buy an epiphone because i don't buy guitars under $1,000.

  • @smOfficialMusic well not getting epis makes sense, but saying you'll never buy a guitar under 1000$ seems kind of stupid to me. im getting a gibson les paul standard, but right now i have a 250$ yamaha acoustic-electric that i love, and its gotten compliments from my guitar teacher and my older cousin who has been playing for a long time and recently recorded a studio album. people have said it sounds better than 8 and 900$ acoustics

  • @ThisIsS000Sad I dont buy guitars under $1,000 dollars because I only buy American made guitars because they are built so much better. Again, it's all personal preference.

  • @ThisIsS000Sad I can prefer whatever kind of fucking guitar i want, ok?

  • @AlienWorkshopSk8tr okkkkkk.................

  • For my type of music, mostly metal I preffer a strat type guitar, such as an ESP or a Jackson... not exactly a Fender Strat.

  • Strat :) + les paul

    You're good!

  • for me les paul because it looks the best

  • I hate my fingers a little bit more, after I get done watching shit like this.

  • the amp is really nice and though we all have our own ears and ideas of what sounds best for me its the les paul...its got such a full tone no matter what it does..very cool.

  • at 0:52 you play the John Mclaughlin chord! (Shakti etc)

  • That's some of the nicest strat playing I've heard in a while...

  • Ultimate beauty in tone = LP

  • want an SG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SG !

  • Strat....

There should be a Telecaster in this vid, since he included the SG. Then, it would be the Tele, lol

  • Rivera Amps seem to be doing really well!

  • what's better for rock ?(foo fighters,the smiths,deftones,strokes)

fender stratocaster or gibson les paul?

  • SOMEONE (whoever posted this!) IS REALLY INSECURE!!!!

  • I like how the LP are solid and good resonant but I like the Strat a lot more because of the radius of the neck.. perfect for sweeps and also I'm a big fan of the mecanics of the Strat.. just so easy and fun to adjust like a race bolid :)

Not a fan of TOM bridges at all like on the LP but on the other hand, I love it's resonant caracteristics by the way it's made... but I don't enjoy adjusting it
