I don't think CH3 ever tried to hid the impact the Clash had on them....If "I didn't know" either band, looking at Kimm back in the day, who seemed to always be wearing a Clash shirt, I might have thought they were the Clash! I am sure they would find the comparison flattering! They are great guys!
