wow compared to your other vid this is the real deal and i rarely say that because i belive blues has gone 2 ways one being music and the other being the true legendary soul side! you my friend are on the soul side but not to be mean ill rate the emotion 8.7-9.3/10 still very very good seeing few good blues man like you keeping the true thing alive
@igvu92 This is authentic as the Blues gets - are you really racist? I'm sorry to say but the blues has mostly been in the hands of white artists for the past 40 years.
@igvu92 Thankfully not all people are ignorant twats! There are many 'non white Europeans' playing classical music of BACH, BEETHOVEN, MOZART etc to a very high level(The lead violinist at the London Opera House was for many years a black guy). Does anyone ever tell them to leave this music for whites? NO! And if they did they should be treated with the contempt you deserve.
Dude I wish. The funny thing is I've gone shopping for a dobro twice, and always walked out of the store with something else that I hadn't planned to buy - the first time a mandolin, the second a Simon & Patrick acoustic. Thanks for the kudos!
Yeah, sorry, man. I don't have a tripod or anything, so the framing is hit or miss... sometimes I get the best take before I've got my camera placement right. There's other videos on my channel where you can see my hands, better, though.
good fucking deal nice rendention u fucking looked pissed when u started true emotions while playing will increase the effect of the artists and will touch more ppl than here u got soul man... cant wait to hear u when ur in better spirits
Yeah, I was in a bad mood that morning... but I've got a backlog of stuff to post, should have some good stuff up, hopefully within the next few weeks.
Good job. Time to go spike my system with some natural precursors to make neurotransmitters so my brain can recover from the 'depression' set in by this rendition, lol. ("I aint' got no more Prozac" might make a good alternate title?)
You knew what I was talking about exactly. I gotta get me some when I gets paid so I can do a song called 'just got paid today, got me a pocket full of 5-HTP', lol...
Thanks, man. You gotta forgive my lack of knowledge of geography... I'm a product of the american school system... NSW is Australia, right? Anyway, thanks for commenting & regards back from San Francisco!
Hi back! Thanks for the nice comments man... yeah, one of these days I'll get back out in front of an audience. Been a while, gotta work up the nerve.
Hey, I know almost no blues artists but I've been digging the sound for a long time. Think you can recommend me some good stuff. I can by this song you got taste.
Robert Johnson is a must, he's the delta blues OG, and he only recorded 29 songs in his entire career so there's not a lot to track down. The album "The Swarthmore Concert" by Lightin' Hopkins was a huge influence on me. "Hard Again" by Muddy Waters is harder-edged electric blues but it's pretty great. I also really like Blind Blake, although I guess he's more ragtime than blues. And, of course, whatever John Lee Hooker you can get your hands on.
Well, my version is not the best to learn from since I don't really play clean chords, and tend to push the chord changes around & play them a little earlier or later than I should sometimes, but here's the basic changes as I do them here:
[G] Well I'm a drunken hearted man [C] My life [G] seem so misery
Well I'm a [C]drunken hearted man, my life seems[g] so misery
You know, after 20 years of sitting around my bedroom playing guitar for myself, I can't tell you how nice it is when people say things like this. THANKS
What the fuck! 33 views! This is bullshit, we got videos with no value on the front page of YouTube that get 100's of thousands of views, while quality videos like this get passed over. This is incredible stuff man, I'm subscribing.
WOW, man, you could seriously make a guy's morning, saying things like that. What can I say - glad you enjoyed it. Thanks a lot, man. You 've got some sweet playing over on your channel, too... the left-handed strat player is a hallowed tradition to uphold.
You know what's crazy, too, man, is my least favorite of the handful of videos I've posted gets twice as many views as any of the others. Can't figure it out.
Funny how sometimes the worse you feel the better you can play. Not that I'd encourage anyone to go out there and try to feel bad or something. Just, you know, when you, that's how it sometimes works.
