hmm this looks good except I'll use caramel (cuz it's sitting in my fridge) and Honey Bunches of Oats cereal w/almonds - cuz thats all I have and no pecans:(
we'll see how it comes out lol! Thanks for the yummy idea:)
@boriebell sounds like a great combination! And that's what it's all about... using the recipes as a guideline. Twisting them to suit you and making use of what you have!
ok so watching this again and i decided that the amount of maple syrup in this is clearly not enough, measurements be damed, i mean really no self respecting canadian would used that little syrup ;P but loved it anyway.
omg. as soon as i saw maple i knew that canadians would be mentioned here... i find it highly amusing how people always thing maple syrup=canadians :P
Wow I just ran across this channel on accident and I am so so glad that I did! I love the way everything is explained, it's funny and easy to learn from and this particular recipe sounds so delicious, I think my face is going to melt off just thinking about it.
@TheCaitlinAwesome I would actually disagree :P Poutine is from quebec and not nessisarily completely canadian, were as maple syrup/maple trees can be found through most of canada :)
hey, when I saw this I felt like making it but I'm allergic to all milk products.. can I just use a little oil instead of butter or what do you suggest? I think most margarine has milk products too :/
Would this work with chocolate instead of the maple syrup? I think I'd prefer the maple :) but my parents both LOVE pears in chocolate sauce, and I'd like to make this for them as a nice twist on the usual.
@sortedfood Actually Canadians are the beautiful, mix in between Brits and the French, so we have lots of talents, like not being difficult! Though all these Canadians commenting on this video might be giving you difficulties!
I find it funny since I'm Canadian and the minute i read 'maple' i was all OOOH YEAA and clicked on this video. I don't see why people should get offended, maple syrup is delicious regardless of nationality haha!
I'm so glad I found your channel, these recipies are fantastic and you are so easy to follow! Off to make this now--!
Wow, this looks delicious! Definitely gonna make this sometime over the holidays. :3
I do have a question, though- What kind of spices were used in the mix that was sprinkled over the pears? I'm guessing cinnamon and nutmeg maybe, but are there any others?
@RealisticFantasy It was a jar of pre-mixed spice. But yes... cinnamon and nutmeg, as well as ginger and cloves. A great combination with the maple and pear. Hope you love it as much as we do when you make it!
you guys deserve more recognition than this! your channel's easy to follow, your recipes are varied and inspiring and your videos are very well edited, love it! :)
@MsPriyannga FYI we could start a comments war on this. ;) Ohhhh, I so do not agree - I love it! ;) What I do agree though is that it's a stereotype. I found the joke pretty funny anyway.
Is this where the "Nice Ripe Pear" poster originated?
