  • ALSO the new chalk lines have Teeth that you can poke into the edge of the plywood so it dosent slip.

  • just wish it was metal, plastic should be illegal, guess metals to expensive these days ?

  • A must have tool for anyone who's in the building game-no matter what trade.Speedy delivery from the U.S to the U.K.

  • This is the tool to have. It’s a simple, durable and compact design makes it very easy to use. I'm always impressed by it. Measure and mark your sheet the thing clips directly on the mark, your string won’t fall or b away from the material, not like using a nail, very accurate and works right every time. It’s like having the right tool for the job. Anybody know what that’s like? What a great tool for the do-it-your-self-er or for any carpenter. Well worth the money!!! Exceptional quality!!!

  • @willscratch1 thanks for the great feedback,

  • Customer with no you-tube acct asked me to post this for him,I am a builder and framing contractor. I is not very often that an inexpensive product comes along that actually makes life easier and quicker. I have also started using it in my metal work also. After using it myself I showed it to one of the old timers on my crew and I have to continuously steal it back from him. Doug Lough, Lough const.

  • I just bought 2 of these. These clamps works just like the video says, Clamp snap move on. I would recommend this tool to anyone who uses a chalk line. I am going to see if my lumber yard will start selling them Great job V Line.

  • @3066red Thanks , I was working on an extreme makeover house and over 20% of the carpenter's had them in their bag's , Some I sold to them and others A truss company bought from me and gave them to their best customer's, they put their logo on the handle's , better than pencil's cause pencils they sharpen and throw on the ground when done, Tell your local truss Companies,

  • this thing has been around for hundreds of years.they use to take some sting, rub charcoal on it,fasen it to one end of what they were working on,go to the other side, pull it tight and snap it aginst what they were working on

  • @akdude182 He's not selling the CHALK LINE he's selling the CLIP! and I use a large metal clip but it doesnt have the special holes for the tape measure. I just clip my line on one mark and pull the chalk line to the other mark.

  • @phartattack I forgot to mention.... You stillhave to go back to the clip to remove it. you cant just whip it off like the clip on the chalk line or shake it loose like the tape measure. It does look handy though.

  • HEY deathtakes666-why don't you put your biggoted head in a 12 inch miterbox and chop off the sick part of your body. Why do you even waste your time making such stupid comments. Try the product and make a comment on that. Geesh, you are a doofus.

  • I love this tool. I made a page on my website, just to display it! See it on the "Tools of the Trade" page at wwwMySundanceRoofingCom.

  • @sundanceroofing Thanks, we could use all the help we can get in getting the word out,

  • I would buy one if it wasn't for the fact the American housing economy has officially been destroyed for the next 12 years or so...

  • @mookixox I heard that buddy but it's actually needed now more than ever, with the downsizing , I own my own crew and I am the inventor, and when people comment real carpenter's wont need it I think damn thirty year's and I'm not a real carpenter?? till I look at their bio and comment's to other people and realize why they say consider the source, lol too many house's on the market, I too wish it could be like it was, The tool is a great Item , every customer is happy,!!!

  • Coz sa asy....

  • Not only does it work awesome for the tasks shown in the video, you can use several with dry lines when laying out decking piers, foundations, any project that uses dry lines/battens to square things up. Instead of untying, sliding , and re-tying the dry line, you simply run the v-line along the batten using the clamp. It's a great third hand for many projects.

  • Looks like a great product, simple and effective...

  • This is nothing new!!!! It is also called a "Snap Line". They have been out for over 30 years. Perhaps this is to promote V-Line

  • or just use a regular spring clamp

  • Great idea, I hope you sell a million of them.

  • is it accurate? what if the guy accidently whip it at an angle?

  • @mr3ggroll whip it all you want, if you watch the Video you will see that when he pulls on it the plywood move's but the V-Line stay's on mark, at 2:11

  • After reading some the comments I can to realize that there are some people that aren't willing to try a great product. Yeah a nail works but this is easy and works great. Like I said before a grat product and will be letting everyone on the job site try it out.

  • Great product. I got one for Christmas last year and ordered ones for the rest of my crew for christmas. What a simple product with lots of uses on the job.

  • @JonathanMatthew100 thanks for your support, and comment's,repeat customer's make me happy, especially one who run;s a crew, cause they know what make's them money, and that's what it's all about, speed , Accuracy and durability, my productivity went up and material waste went down ,Happy Holiday's from V-Line clamp

  • Some pretty typical carpenter responses in here. They're either "That's stupid. I'd rather do things the way my daddy taught me than do something simpler and faster" or "I'm too cheap to buy one for my guys, I'll just Mcguyver one together out of a paper clip and twine!"

Carpenters are the cheapest most stubborn people on the face of this planet. Now I see why some people think Jesus was Jewish.

  • @deathtakes666

I thought he was a Jew

Guess he was a Southern Baptist.

Hope he makes a million dollars selling this invention simple but effective

  • Its great to have a ready made one of these- BUT a wood clothes peg with a wood block glued on the end with a slot in it works just as accurate !

  • happening and saluting

    Buen video

  • I'm a concrete guy,but I could still see where it would come in handy.A lot of people are not receptive to new ideas and a lot of people said the same things about chamfer cutters.I might get some of these for my guys.

  • @curej71 thank you for your support and comment,

  • @vlineguy deal. nice but not for me.

  • The roofing book is the carpenters bible. piss the calculator off, You should try it. You can buy it in metric system or imperial... again im not saying its a shit product, good for you for making something you might think is alot easier but us australians have our way that seems to work the best..

  • The best ideas always seem to be so simple.

  • @vlineguy "you're 23 but that's ok" Brilliant comeback vlineguy. It doesn't matter how good your product is there'll always be someone who wants to knock it. In Australia our drywall sheets are 20ft x 4ft long. We often have to cut diagonal angles and I think the V-Line clamp is a great idea. Those jerks that knock new products would still be using stone hammers if it wasn't for guys like you mate. Keep up the good work. I hope you make a heap of cash out of it.

  • How does this stop giving you a saw back? You will strain yourself lifting the sheets more than stretching or bending over. All i saw was using the chalk line on a sheet no wider than 900mm - 1m save time by using a 1200mm level or a straight edge and use a pencil to mark, = less clutter in your nailbag and it won't be too heavy. nice idea but not practicle and thought out, Oh yeah and when in the world will America switch too metric system, Imperial is ancient and not accurate!!!

  • @ShannonEly no disrespect, but metric is a crap system of measurement, and I'm Canadian, (plumber, 14 years journeyman in BC).

Great product, vlineman, I'll be getting one.

  • @pipemanjeffy how is metric crap its the most accurate measuring system too this day...... and its reliable. but each to there own opinion..

  • @ShannonEly you know that Canada is one of the FEW places that uses metric for measurement? Most other countries in the world, including the commonwealth countries, go by imperial. So the real question is when will we (canada) lay off on the dreaded 'M' word.

  • good idea but, for me, just another tool to lose when I needed it.

  • i want one and will make a great ,xmas gift for a few buds ...great idea ,keep them coming!

  • i want one and will make a great ,xmas gift for a few buds ...great idea ,keep them coming!

  • people who diss this idea are just one of those people... for some reason, people in construction are either REALLY nice people.. or REAL jerks and know it all stuck up pricks about things... you can show one of these guys a knife who has never seen one and he would tell you its the worst idea ever... Jesus gives new Spirits if asked and if the testament read, HIS Spirit... and GOD revealed, BTW.. must confess!

    p

  • @just4fame thanks for the nice comment, your right, I went to a job site and the boss said get out of hear we don't need that crap, and his employees were giggling in agreement (never trying it ) went around the corner to another crew, one guy already had one and the boss bought 1 for each of his crew, it's new ,it;s change, but it works great, I'm selling them every day, God bless.

  • @just4fame how true u are?

  • @just4fame What has God Jesus and holy spirit got to do with a vline??? is it cos Jesus was a carpenter and might have needed one of these himself?and confess? is that before or after during or when buying a vline?

  • from desmonds

  • I like it! Can we get it in canada? I'll love it if it's quicker than the old two inch nail trick to hold my line on angles

  • @DwansAve the only way to get the v-lines is to order on our website, we have delivered many to Canada, it is quicker, than a nail, and much more accurate cause your not folding the line over or damaging finish materials and it holds your tape measure, thanks for your comment

  • Interesting idea.

Biting my tongue, someone who knows what trey're doing wouldnt need it.

But it would make things easier, definitely.

  • roofers have been using these for years...its just a piece of string with chalk on it..

  • meh... idk

  • I'll be getting me one . Do they come in other colors . i was wanting a blue one with red and white stars. or any combonation of those colors. thank you ,Rob

  • dey took ar joooobs

  • very clever.. how much do these go for? can i buy them in a local store?

I could use one of these on the site.

  • What a fantastic bit of kit!! One man & one V- Line doing all the work Marking long cuts & awkward measuring jobs.

I only found this tool by accident, but I am very glad I did

It real is a must to put in your site bag

  • I use to be a sawman I would have love to have one back then .

  • , @ 0.29 Vline goes from corner to corner,@ 0.31 it holds your tape measure @ 0.35 it clamps nicely to your nail bags,

It doesn't puncture material such as fascia and soffit, @ 2.10 the V-Line clamp stays on mark but its strong enough to pull on that a full sheet of plywood moves,

unlike Quick spike your not spearing your line, works even without line clip,& best reason is 100% feed back from customer's!! other video under vlinedude & assist tool

  • We used one similar (made decades ago!) good to see they're back!

  • Floor-tilers were using these in the 1950's (and probably before that!) to mark the centre-point of the floor, after applying the adhesive. I used it in woodwork ever since I learned it. Wish I'd thought to 'patent' the idea! Lol!

Just called it a chalk-string! A lump of chalk and a length of string.

  • Nice!!! I could use one of those....

  • thats a great idea :)
