It's funny how Napoleon gets critcism from historians and yet we don't hear from the horrible things done by the English at various colonies (South Africa, India, Afghanistan...). I guess that the saying : "Victors write history " is true after all.

Not really. Napoleon defies this thesis. In the end he lost, and still he is a legend an the "victors" are just puppets in his show of genius.

E.g. Carthage was burned to the ground, Romans wanted it to be forgotten), and we all know about Hannibal Barka, and how he humiliated Rome.
