  • That's correct. The pitch is controlled by,

    A) Your guitars controls including pickup selection.

    B) the blend pot on the pedal. (feedback intensity) The resistance of this pot has bearing on pitch as well.

    C) the amount of gain being fed. The more gain, the lower the pitch.

The Ruitz is to the right. Just a simple snip one side on a spdt toggle.

The clipping switch goes between stock sym 4148 / drop clippers/ asymm 4148-1n4004. LED's are great in a feedback RAT too. (Turbo)

  • Wow, that feedback trick is cool. How are you controlling the pitch...with the volume pot on the guitar?

Is the Ruetz mod activated when the switch is to the left or the right? Is that the one where you just snip the 470 ohm resistor?

  • HI.. Are u selling this pedal..?? love the feedback thing..

  • i like your RAT mods.....but first up for me is gonna be the Uber Bobby D Bone :-)

then maybe it will time for a TROMBETTA RAT!

  • Paul do you sell this?

    Wild stuff you have!

p.s. Proco is redoing their stuff now, there a tons of mods, makes you bezeerk!

    Thanx man!

  • great mod! The feed mod is amazing!! What are the metod for install this mod?? What are need for??

  • The feedback is attained taking the output and feeding it back to the send on your switch. 100k blend pot in the path.

    RAWK on!

  • Would you still classify this as a distortion, or an overdrive sound?

Awesome pedal. This video makes me want to keep my Rat2

  • I never get tired of listening to this

  • Thanks David, Yea, there is lots of SD-1 mods

on the net. You should find plenty in a search. Cheers -pt

  • Hey. I did the ruetz mod to my rat. Im trying to get rid of the added lows when the mod is engaged. I dont know if I can put a small cap in line before the switch. Do you have any ideas?

  • Fantastic mods. So desirable with them! :-)

Would it be easy to mod something like a SD1 with the symmetrical/ asymmetrical switch? I'm going to do the Reutz one with a switch. Well done.

  • That is a feedback loop built within the Rat.

the knob is the feedback blend and pitch control.

  • Greetings, Paul Trombetta. I have a ProCo rat (like u used in your video) I like the FeedBack Loop Thing. I want to mod my Rat. Can u post The Schematic just to do that Thing??? Thanx!!! :D

  • I am a professional musician...East Coast. I have one of these I've used for many years . You can go to my website to see my pedalboard.

    thevelcrows (dot com)

However, I would not be able to build the mods.....link to me via my website if you can rebuild mine for me????? Thanks.

  • What's going on when you push that switch on the front of the pedal and those feedback like things happen? I've never seen or heard that before.

  • My bad!

  • FYI - "Ruetz" is pronounced "REETS"

  • Love Radiohead!

  • I wouldn't be surprised if you got a call from Johnny Greenwood for one of these!

  • Got me a mini boner but after seein this

had to have one. Sounds killer.
