I think one of the things that's so engaging about this anime is how realistic the everyday stuff is. They added the clumsiness of people, and realistic viewpoints of people too (like how Kyon basically thinks "you gotta be kidding me" for many things). It's not that super cheap type of show where everything goes perfectly.
