I think its okay to discriminate against gays, they seem to not have a problem discriminating against others in their own group or people outside of it. Long story short, I went to a gay bar with a good gay white friend (I'm a straight asian male btw) for happy hour, and the stares and references to "rice" and "panda" was quite immature and offensive IMO. Granted it was a mostly white bar, but I wasn't prepared for that kind of discrimination. Now I am.

@CaptainDoson It happens. I grew up in a very conservative/christian environment and I'm use to seeing that kind of behavior. I wasn't prepared at the time, because I was under the assumption the gay community was very open to outsiders, but it seems they are just like the christians I grew up with...well at least other christians never made racial remarks towards me. Regardless, I understand the gay culture more now and no longer need to give them the benefit of the doubt.

i dont know if this will work but i went to a bridal shop to buy a prom dress with my bestfriend because me and her are goin to prom together and i was asked to leave because it was "inappropriate" for me to be shopping for a dress. i was kicked out and told that i would have to make an appointment when no one was there at night if i were to get a dress form that shop lol im am a drag queen and for me this is a way of self expression and a way for other kids my age realize they can be themselves

My wife and I got married in Iowa but we live in Arkansas. We have had a few hurdles with our workplace because we are married. Also, since our marriage, my entire family has stopped speaking to me and some of them have even joined anti-gay hate groups on Facebook. I have all sorts of stories for you if you want/need them.

I am 16 and in 11th grade, I am not sure if this is really important to the gay community but in my English class I had done a debate about gay marriage. I was for it because I have no reason as to why gay men and woman should not marry. The thing that was shocking is the questions that homophobic people asked me. People at my old high school in Indiana can still actively be expelled for being gay. Heritage Christian in Indianapolis. To get into the school, you have to sign a contract that says you will not engage in homosexual acts, period. Also, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a man was killed about 8 months ago because of "gay panic" and his killer got of scot free because the victim was "intoxicated" and the killer was just "using self-defense". gag.

Hey Ryan, Love you and your work... Recently I was laid off from my job as a phlebotomist because my Mormon supervisor(s) told me to work faster and to talk to the Patients less... I did, and PTS complained because I was working too quickly... I was fired because I had "too many PT complaints" and the supervisor(s) told me that they never told me to work faster or to talk to the PTS less. I live in Prescott Az and this state has no legislation preventing discrimination based on sexual orientaion

I don't think I have been through any of those things but I know they exist.
At my school we have a GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) Club it's new this year & I feel happy going to a school that has such a club. My school also has a few transgenders here and they don't get harassed or bullied at school. I wish all high schools could be like mine, or even better than mine, that would make the U.S and the world better.

I honestly don't trust people, and am not saying us gays are not trust-able, but gays do have a much higher rate of HIV and AIDS than any other group of people in the United States. People at my old high school in Indiana can still actively be expelled for being gay. Heritage Christian in Indianapolis. To get into the school, you have to sign a contract that says you will not engage in homosexual acts, period. Also, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a man was killed about 8 months ago because of "gay panic" and his killer got of scot free because the victim was "intoxicated" and the killer was just "using self-defense". gag.

Hey Ryan, Love you and your work... Recently I was laid off from my job as a phlebotomist because my Mormon supervisor(s) told me to work faster and to talk to the Patients less... I did, and PTS complained because I was working too quickly... I was fired because I had "too many PT complaints" and the supervisor(s) told me that they never told me to work faster or to talk to the PTS less. I live in Prescott Az and this state has no legislation preventing discrimination based on sexual orientaion

At my school we have a GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) Club it's new this year & I feel happy going to a school that has such a club. My school also has a few transgenders here and they don't get harassed or bullied at school. WHY do you have to be in the states to do this discrimination is world wide Im from Canada and I swear there isnt a day that goes by that I dont get disriminated against well thats an over exsageration but I get disriminated against,insulted what not weekly.

i shared this on my facebook. while i am heterosexual and have not experienced discrimination because of it, many friends of mine are not. i wanted to be sure this was out there for them if they choose :-)
