I just found it on the website... this looks really cool... take a look at my channel, this product might fit it well with the series i am working on...?
what mic would you say is the best for hitting those high notes.. the Samson C01U or your TG-X 60 beyerdynamic one? i sing but i dont have a clue about stuff like this and i dont wanna spend my money on something when i can get the best one for me straight away (A)
@Gunbardo Lampifier mics have the best vocal-optimized compression you can find, period. Youtube prevents posting links, but you can read reviews and singers experience using the mic at Lampifier dot c o m.
@UltimateConnor ... looked up your SBCMD110/00. It's a cheap omni-directional Karaoke mic. Probably plastic. No difference between this and a pro vocal mic with on board dynamic enhancement and control? hmmm. OK I'd advise any amateur who can't tell the dif, stick with the $10 mics. All mics reproduce sound, after all. This is a professional vocal mic. To apply your view to guitars, I suppose you'd recommend I sell my $4k PRS and buy a chinese copy for $200. No difference; they both play notes?
@UltimateConnor Oh I see... you are doing death metal cookie-monster voice. That is a highly unique kind of distorted "effect" voice. So yeah, maybe for you it doesn't matter. But it would be good to say that's what you are using it for, because singers in all other styles will not agree with you. Also, Lampifier mics are designed exclusively for live performance where you don't have unlimited compression ability. It controls live dynamics perfectly. Recording is a completely different animal.
I can speak for death metal vocalists when i say that it DOES matter, death metal/gutteral/harsh vocals DO actually need power behind them, they're not a distorted effect voice. the guy you're talking to is just way wrong. hope that helped
@phili666 thank you for the input. We have worked with a lot of vocalists in the last 2 years, but no death metal vocals so I can't speak to that application with any authority. However, my guess is 1) loud stage environment, 2) competition with a LOT of guitar means you need to ride high in the mix consistently... these are 2 things that the Lampifier circuit achieves. So I'd suspect it would be a significant benefit in this style as well as others... perhaps even moreso.
@UltimateConnor ...accomplish way more? In what way? How about some examples. "I still use the mic, it works as good, or even better than this." You still use WHAT MIC, and it's better than what... a Lampifier mic? Do you actually have a Lampifier mic, and made a head to head comparison? If so, I'd very much like to hear the details. But it sounds like you are making a conclusion based only on watching this video, which is not meaningful.
@UltimateConnor still the question remains, What mic "accomplishes more"? There are no other mic on the market that do what these mics do. They can be programmed for a wide variety of uses, and greatly speed up setup in live environments. Has it occured to you that to speak of the use/application of a mic that you've not actually tried is at best meaningless, and at worst, misleading to others? Go to lampifier com and see what people who actually use the mic think.
@BebopVox yes, the interview was made on a flip cam, using the built in mic. The point of the interview is to show the reaction of a singer to the mic, and why he likes it; what the practical benefits are.
Not sure if he was the right person to ask about the mic .... or perhaps any technical question really .... anyway, the mic has good compression, right! ?! :p
@AntiPirateSquad For technical information about Lampifier mics, please see the full technical overview at lampifier (dot) com/MIC/info/pages/lampifier_technology
From an engineering standpoint, that mic is amazing. The sound quality is absolutely phenomenal (am assuming the recording was done with the mic shown in the video). From a lead vocalist standpoint, I freakin' want two! One for my voice and one for my guitar cab.
Can I download a white paper on this product? I'd like to read some more detail...Maybe this could be good for my YouTube project...

@Lampifier
yeah definitely, those 2 things are big factors in it so your mic would most likely be very good for it.

@UltimateConnor unlikely, as there is no product on the market that accomplishes what this mic does.
