How can anyone not recognise a robin for haven'ts sake? I'm no twitcher but even I recognise his red breast. Any one who's received a Christmas card- even the Americans- can surely spot one.
Some people leaving comments to the contrary are hard of thinking.
@mario2000595 The American Robin and European Robin are both thrushes, however they are of different genuses. Our American Robin is closely related to the Eurasian Blackbird (genus Turdus).
Hi there. This is lovely footage. Would it be ok if I use some of it for my Birdwatching for Beginners DVD project for university please? Many thanks.
@midwestviking777 It is hard for me to imagine a bird which looks more robin like than this! You are getting it confused with a different species: the American Robin, which isn't actually a robin relative. It is more closely related to the blackbird.
@midwestviking777 This is a European Robin that we see evry day in the UK, it is compelatly different to the American Robin that you see evry day in the US.
Adear friend of mine sent me this....I love all birds.....very sweet......and that is a very nice camera....I am thinking about getting one with a powerful zoom like yours...thank you for this..
What state are you from? I'm in Illinois and Robins are the most common bird we have. Never seen a U.K. robin before. Its rather cute, and the singing just as beautiful. : )
@iamsparklelicous California, we have lots of them too but they are greyer, and I think their dialect is not quite as nice as the song that the Eastern ones sing. My fat, green, little Jardine's parrot does an outstanding imitation of a Robin song.
Have just been sat here listening to a Robin singing his heart out at dawn in my front garden and thought I'd see if a video was on Youtube. Very surprised (and pleased) to see a film of one a few miles away from where I live!
if you try mimicking the song of the robin it will sing a little louder and use different tones and sequences. although i cant mimick that good i have found that it works
Hmmmmm....here in the Americas we call that bird a bluebird, a robin, a totally diff'rent bird; but i have to admit, in diff'rent regions they're called diff'rently, anyways 5 stars SeanWrenn!
Robin is my favourite singer. I always rejoice when the return to Finland after the winter. I heard the first one this week and its song filled me with delight.

This is not the kind of robin we see in america. The robin we see in america looks different because it is a kind of thrush.

funny how people think of birds as "singing" when they are actually talking with a decent vocabulary

@missdeviance No this is not a blue bird, even in the US. Its back feathers and wings are not blue in the slightest.
