  • It's really quite amazing to watch a performer like Mr. Wyble work in a noisy room. His maturity shines throughout video. No Hissies, no death looks, he just plays great guitar and seems to enjoy life. A man who is comfortable with himself. Very Nice.

  • Man, if only these people knew that the man sitting near them has stories about Bob Wills and Benny Goodman, among many other luminaries. I can't imagine having had the chance to talk to him about his long life in music.

  • Yes that is true! Jimmy was a musicians musician and to play for these people is a waste of his time.

  • on a retrouvé le pere d'homer simpson héhé

  • Great vid's. (This one & "Tea Time". He was such a master.

  • Awesome. Thanks for posting this.

  • who are the imbeciles making noise?

  • And such is the state of the arts in the U.S., in these times. A master musician, reduced to the role of background__an irrelevance, accompanying what, when compared to his performance, can only be described as, mindless chatter.

  • Great stuff. Excellent composition, and great performance.

Any jazz guitarist gets used to the noise. It is part of the atmosphere. Being ambient background is part of the job, not to be the star of the show or focus. I bet if the place were full of guitarists, no one would be talking. Not many guitarists can afford a nice restaurant for lunch often.

  • lol u aint wrong!! we would all be there with holes in our shoes, cupping one cup of coffee for 3 hrs in hushed reverence listening to this master play!

  • @hakanozelguitarist I remember when I used to go see George Van Epps play in Seal Beach...It was more like five feet in front of me...OMG.

  • Joe Pass told me once he had to go to Europe for people to listen to his music and he hated playing here because it was always behind the noisy silverware and talking. People here have no apreciattion of art, it is a sad fact but it is what it is.............

  • Great stuff. Excellent composition, and great performance.

  • the contrapuntal bass lines are amazing ! I'm having a hard time figuring out his approach chord wise. He seems to suggest the changes rather with some key notes, wow great stuff !

  • Again, KevintheBeagle, thanks for the valuable post. A pity, all that rude crowd noise.

  • thanks for watching, i'm glad you like the players. some of the Jimmy videos have less room noise. it was a drag that people clattered away while a great artist was ten feet in front of them.

  • You know it's the same woman at the top of the noise on every recording. She just doesn't shut up for a moment. Meanwhile Jimmy beams wih pleasure at the end of each tune. What a gent he is, and let's be glad we don't live with her. Many thanks for all this excellent material. A lifetime of study!

  • i played Koyunbaba (a beautiful 13 minute classical guitar piece by Carlo Domeniconi) once to a room of about 9 people who listened in total silence, except for 1 guy who talked to his girlfriend at full volume through the whole thing, oblivious to the dirty looks from everyone else. (btw im not for a second comparing myself to this wonderful master!!)
