I have been read throughout the comments how Abortion should never be considered and that it should be the Mother's choice. Well I figured I'd give my opinion. I feel Abortion should only be considered if the Mother's life is in danger. My friend once told me a Metaphor. Imagine, one day you get kidnapped and wake up with a full-grown person attached to you. You can't see this person's face but you know they're there. You can get them removed but doing so will kill them. What do you do?

@raidendream - I concur with your viewpoint on abortion. As much as I hate the concept of 'taking a life' in this manner, there comes a time when a mother's life needs to be held in a higher standard, especially if there are other children already in the household. A mother can't be replaced, just as a father cannot. But I do believe EVERYTHING should be done to prevent this act from happening if at all possible. It should be literally a last resort. All life is precious!

I'm a male in my early 20's. I can't possibly think of the pain these mothers have to go through with or without the abortion.

But US citizens have the right to the 'freedom of choice' within the boundary of law.

@espakor - Taking a life is never a "felony" in the eyes of God. Murder is murder. You are quoting from man's law, which is often times an abomination.

As for your voting record, it shows that you truly are not a free thinker as you claim. It just shows that you'll vote for a Progressive no matter which party affiliation he or she belongs to.

As to your final question - since when is medical science and the men/women who practice it always right? Obviously you place too much faith in them!

@sensfaninohio I understand completely. If I had the money to pay higher taxes, I'm all for it, I don't care about material possessions, but right now, I'd go homeless. That's just one birth defect of over 4,000, which is why one of every 33 babies is currently born with a birth defect. I really, really wish we lived in a perfect world, and only the people who wanted babies had them, and that no mother would suffer from a child's birth. However, that's not the world we live in. There is a price.

No. The Ten Commandments are still His Laws over us, and no matter what others say ... abortion is killing no matter what the reason, and a birth defect is not reason enough. @sensfaninohio I see. This Peter Singer thinks fetuses aren't human. I'm surprised by a Bio-Ethics professor. I'm currently taking Bio-Medical Ethics. Life never ends. If it did, it would die. We are always human, even through reproduction. It goes without saying, killing the fetus is like killing an adult, or murder. But, how does it separate the murder of the fetus from the murder of all the other sperm cells or the other 3 egg cells for the female or even from pms? Where is this defined line?

The problem with respecting god's law and trying to pass it as real law, is that not everyone in this country is Christian or religious.

There is in fact a separation of church and state.

He indeed voted for "born alive abortions" while nearly every one of his colleagues voted against this. And the US Senate voted unanimously 98-0 against this. many hospitals do that and the nurses just work there, I wouldnt wanna work at a hospital like that if I was a nurse or doctor but I wouldnt quit if there was no other one around cause I would still be helping out.
