  • Oh shiet baer

  • Bare brakes destroy brembo's.. Just hype , nice job with that though

  • I have a 03 g35 coupe and i've read that the breaks go out fast due to the softer pads. The last owner resurfaced the rotors and when i took it to the dealer they said you're not supposed to due that. Told me they'd recommend me changing the entire rotors and brake pads. My question is that I really like the Brembos and wouldn't mind spending the $ to go back with the same stock ones but I wanted to know what you'd suggest on what pads to go back with. Thanks

  • 15 steps by radiohead

  • name of the song please

  • Thanks for the very helpful video

  • very informative, lets have more.

  • yep good vid bro, people just make sure you take the top off the brake fluid reservoir so the pistons can be compressed. Compress them nice and slow and wrap a cloth around the reservoir incase of any fluid spillage. Once all done slowly compress the brake pedal still with the lid off the reservoir, and again and again until you feel a nice hard pedal come back. Check fluid level. Top back on. Voila!

  • is there an any tool to push the piston back in?

  • @love1988672007 yes, there is a tool available. It is a piston spreader tool. You can try to search online for it.

  • nice vid! helped me change my pads on my evo in no time

  • whats that stuff behind the brake pads. is it grease?

  • yes, it is

  • i am just wondering why do you have to put grease?... im planning you DIY my brake pads.. btw i drive a mitsubishi evo 7

  • @barepilot The grease is applied to down on squealing brakes.

  • Hi mate, would you be able make a video changing the REAR brake pads on these brembos? thanks

  • Rear pads are pretty much the same deal. This video is actually really out of date... at this point I didn't even know how to do brake jobs :) The next time I have to replace pads and rotors on a brembo brake equipped G I will make sure to film it.

  • dont you have to replace the shims on the back of the pads too?

anyway great vid, used some reference for my car.

  • hahaha i did this today on a CTS-V!!easy shit!

  • I wanted to replace my BREMBO brake pads(g35)., but it is a good thing that I found your vid.cuz I was going to take the hole brake caliper apart. Thank you for the good vid.

  • hahahaha you used hand glooves, c'mon are you a modern home mechanic? but however nice vid

  • Nice vid. I just did my brakes, but forgot to put the shims back on the new pads. Now I have to redo all my brakes again :P

  • u kno waht i did the same thing i forgot to put my shims in too but it didnt make a difference they still worked just as good and didnt squeek .. i got the ebc red stuff.. and puting them in were such a breeze it was so easy take two pins out push the pistons bak pull tha pads aout and put new ones in .. simple as dat ..

  • The song is 15 Step by Radiohead from In Rainbows

  • name of the song?? awesome

  • nice vid, I might try to do this on my own soon. I bought a preowned g35 coupe but the prick didn't tell me that it needed a brake job. I know I was careless, but I couldn't help it because I was just so excited that I'd found what I was looking for.

Anyone know what pads are cheap and reliable at the same time? thx!

  • uhm i have the same 2004 infiniti g46 and i used (ebc Green Stuff) and it is a little pricy but very very reliable

  • very very good videos man ive never changed brembos before

  • hey thx alot im just about to do mine... but i have sti.

  • FIrst off thanks for the video. Anyway, i did everything that was done in the vid. but im unable to get the oem brake pads off. DId i miss something? It feels like there's something holding it in place. But in the video you were able to just pull it out. THanks!

  • check the factory service manual for the 350z, something might be different... let us know how it turns out for you.

  • Well from what ive read, you have to push the pads toward the calipers (with a towel and large plier). That way the pad can just slip right out.

  • @onungamon22 did you pull the clips and remove the pins

  • at 3:15 what is that on the back?

  • It's the brake grease that came with the new pads. It should be applied to prevent brake squeal.

  • You should be able to just pull them out side to side. Make sure you followed all the other preliminary stept.

  • Are your rotors aftermarket? I can't seem to move those much either. It feels like theres something keeping the pads from getting pulled out. I did everything else done in your video. I got oem brembos from an 03 350z so we should have the same brakes.

  • Thanks for the video. Those calipers are identical to the brembo's on my 2004 volvo V70R - except for there's no cotter pins.

  • Wouldn't it have been easier to just use brake cleaner instead of trying to wipe them off with a paper towel?

  • Brake cleaner would damage the painted caliper surface :( In any case, this was just my friend's quick & dirty way to swap out his pads; purely informational.

  • "I believe that's it" lol, better be positive that's it haha

  • Brembo FTW!!! It took me 45 mins to change all 4 of mine.

  • what kind of antisqueal/grease did you use on the back? i have to put new pads on my evo and im gonna do it myself...any tips?

  • yep i'd like to know that as well. I'll be attempting to repace my own rotor and pads soon. Going to pick them up today.

  • My mechanic wants $650 to replace all 4 brake pads on mine. I wish I could do it myself, but I'm mildly retarded when it comes to fixing stuff. I dont know what to do because after wacthing this video called "Mechanics, be careful when you dick around!" I want to do the right thing. Any suggestions?

  • Well at least for these front pads it's a pretty straight forward process. Just pay careful attention to the video and follow the instructions that come with the new pads. Use all the right tools and have patience. Have a friend help out. What you could do is ask your mechanic friend what he would charge just for labor, and see if you can get the pads cheaper?

  • Brembo don't do brake pads.

  • Do you mean to say they don't make brake pads?

  • Great video! This helped me change my SRT8 pads.

  • Good vid...I noticed you had the cap off the brake fluid tank...Does it matter if you keep it on or off? Also, did you bleed your brakes afterwards? Thanks!

  • When you push on the calipers' pistons, it will cause brake fluid in the reservoir to rise and if the cap is on pressure will build and it will be more difficult to compress the pistons. Also, there can be the case of fluid overflow when pushing the piston back in. We didn't bleed the brakes for this job, but I'll be bleeding the brakes on my sedan soon and I'll post a video of that.

  • Thanks bro! I just changed the pads on my non-brembo today...I just followed how you left the cap open..It's definitely cuts time to bleed the brakes...Again Great vid!

  • what song is this? it has a great beat =D

  • it's by Radiohead, the song is called "15 Step"

  • oh thank you

  • Thanks. My dealer wants $675.83 to replace all 4 brake pads on mine. I wish I could do it myself, but I'm mildly retarded when it comes to fixing stuff.

  • for 700 dollars you can buy new hawk pads and new rotors. they really are tripping.

  • yea i kno. you should just buy new brembo rotors and pads and then tell a friend to install it for you

  • Hey, you forgot to give me credit for my starring role. No bald spots this time -- good!

  • hahaha
