In his autobiography he said something about "Taking fans go karting was a prize". I thni it was for a raffle or something.

@JarrodCook93 It was a fan club competion prize. There was a competition phone line many years ago. I luckily won a few times and got to go kart with Gary, go dry slope skiing and had a flight in a light aircaft with Gary piloting the plane. There are some slideshows and vids of these on my channel if you're interested.
