Holy crap with this car I could make it to my school and back for a regular 5 day week using only 1 gallon of fuel, that means one tank of gas would last me almost 3 months! Currently my Isuzu Trooper takes about 5 gallons a week, so the 20 gallon tank runs out in like a month...I need to get me a Prius!

They DO get fantastic gas mileage, and they ARE very reliable, but if you're driving one thinking you're saving the environment, you're dead wrong. Hybrids are a short term solution for a long term problem. Not my personal favorite, but to each their own.

I like the prius except for one thing. I don't like how the spedo and instrument cluster in the center of the car. To me that is a little distracting because I have to look down an to the right to see my speed instead on of looking straight down. Your eyes have to adjust to a different vertical axis so you lose focus on your lane of travel. Probably would get use to it after a while. HUD would be better for this car.

@toneykk actually the point jeremy was trying to prove is that driving style effect fuel economy greatly, by showing prius driving aggressively and m3 driving somewhat "leisurely," and as you know m3 got better mileage. In short, change your driving style before you buy fuel efficient car to improve fuel efficiency, there is no point of getting prius if you drive it aggressively and try to achieve good mileage.

I just brought a 2011 Prius. I absolutely love this car. I'am saving an insane amount of money at the gas pump. The Prius has less than twelve gallon fuel tank, but a driving range of five hundred plus miles. When you drive drive 55MPH you're averaging about 61 miles per gallon!

I don't mind the Prius at all. It's an interesting piece of tech, and reasonably successful at what it's SUPPOSED to do. It's supposed to deliver great city fuel economy and be comfortable and simple to drive for a small family. Do I prefer the sound of my 351 windsor in the morning? yes, but no one buys a prius for that any more than I bought my crown vic for economy. It's a cool piece of tech, and without fuel sippers like this there won't be gasoline to burn for much longer.

Diesel technology is far superior in reliability and is also faster without the futuristic lookin shape hybrids tend to have.
