@walker29100 I use a free program called GCFScape to extract the sound files from the original game, although sometimes I'll use console commands or the GMOD addons 'Play Scene' and/or 'NPC Scene' to get the Vorts to quote lines from the script for HL2.

@vuur150 They wear slave collars because the nihilanth makes them fight. Not to say they dont want to fight humans, its may be that theyve grown smarter over the 20 years between games.

it's never actually made clear. a lot of time past so they might of died, but we don't know how long they lived. if they did survive, they propebly joined the resistance, the ninwlith enslaved them once, they probobly wouldn't go through it again. that's proboply what happened, since they are so thankful that he saved them. some say that they feel sorry for the ones whose "strings they cut" or in other words the ones he killed.

Yes, Gmod 9 is free. But Gmod 10 is only $10.00 ($9.99, but whatever). You should buy Gmod 10, its way better if you ask me from the movies I've seen. There even is a movie of the differences in Gmod 9 and 10. But if you rather want Gmod 9, get that instead

In HL the vortiguants were enslaved by the Combine and were forced to fight against the humans. Then at the end of HL freeman de-enslaved them and thus they now help the humans against the combines.
