I like Derek and he is TOTALLY SEXY but all of his dances look the same and he is kind of arrogant, and I don't care what anybody says he gets partners that are shoo ins to win
@PDZZL He gets partnered with people the same as everyone else. You don't think Hope Solo or Erin Andrews or Mel B had HUGE potential?? I could name a bunch of other celebrities that could have gone all the way but didn't and its not because they weren't partnered with Derek. Think of Shannon Elizabeth or Lil' Kim. They just didn't have what it takes plain and simple.
@FilleDeBatterie There was nothing wrong w/ Lil Kim's dancing, it was Derek's choreography. Some choreography didn't look ballroom-ish LIKE this past season & he didn't dance in hold with body contact as much as he did this past season, either. IMHO, he didn't teach Lil' Kim the way he taught Ricki. Lil' Kim was more advanced but wasn't shown as Ricki. Derek was strictly almost always ballroom w/Ricki. I agree, Shannon Elizabeth didn't have what it takes plain & simple, neither did Jennie Garth.
OMFG ricki lake came in f'ing 3rd!!!!! WTF! ahhhhhhhhhhh i knew those damn kardashians had a helping hand in those votes. her brother didnt get better til towards the end of the show, and ricki has been getting high scores allllllllllllllllll season long and the first 10's and the 2nd person to get a perfect score. damn rigged show.
All you have to do to do well on DWTS is be fat and female. Or at least born female. The fatties with spend hours voting for you over and over while they scarf down cheetos. Sad but true.
So glad that Derek is back. He is a great dancer and teacher. He makes his partners look good! He is the best of the best! DWTS needs to keep him comming back, and not let him take time off again. The show last season was not the same with out him.
She needs to lengthen her lines. That being said, I like her. I didn't really feel anything when they were dancing......i hope they rock the next dance.
I thought she did a good job, but I didn't know she ever had a slammin' body. I know at some point she lost a lot of weight. That's a good thing for her,
WHAT motivated them to say yes to DWTS translates to commitment & passion, but regardless ,some celebrities just have what it takes,be it natural talent, personality, that special spark or charm , thier passion for dancing, the chemistry with their partners that just makes them simply amazing & so easy to fall in love with.Natural chemistry & pasion translate to amazing performance. @kritjnsn I never said she didn't state that losing weight is the reason why she's doing DWTS. i only said that THAT is not the ONLY reason she is doing it. second: i was trying to make a joke about the choreo for the wedding...don't throw rocks :) third: she is already donating and supporting her nanny's charity, now she only tries to raise the awareness about it ...DWTS is a good platform for that.
7-7-7 is a fair score for Ricki & Derek's waltz. Chynna & JR'S score of 22 were respectively earned & deserved, IMO:) <3 Derek but Ricki, most particularly after their jive has not earned my vote. That was a huge turn off for me! sorry!
@keli85 I mean. He won with Brooke, he won with Nicole, and he won with Jennifer. Cheryl, Mark, Kym, and Julianne (who has not been back since season 8 unfortunately) have only won 2. If anybody should win this season, it's Maks. He has been in the finale 4 times and not won ONCE!
I am glad this season doesn't have any "for sure" finalists. However, if Derek is in the finale, for once, I like to see him not win. I don't hate him; I just don't like that he gets a lot of ringers.
@starrbeatlesqueen well as I see if someone deserves to win they should win no matter how many trophies they already have. But this is fans vote and they will vote for their celeb they like best. Mark and Sabrina Byrant should of won or mark and Chelsea kane and Maks and Mel B all should of won but they didnt. i think its unfair to say he shouldnt win just because he already have 3 trophies he shouldnt win if him and ricki are not better then the other couples and that goes for all the teams
@starrbeatlesqueen yes Derek always plays to the strength of his partner and plus more he challenges them to do stuff they think they can't do. That's why I love him he aways breaks the rules and pushes his partner to the limit he never plays it safe :)

Some get so hell bent on their faves winning that they don't consider whether or not their dancing or chemistry deserves it in comparison to other couples. i absolutely love Ricki and Derek and i vote for them but if JR and Karina win, that would be ok too lol
@starrbeatlesqueen and here we go with the ringers again...Maks had ringers too....he just doesn't know what to do with them. you need to be able to choreograph to someone's strengths to win...the only true ringer Derek has had was Nicole...and SHE agreed to do DWTS under the condition that she gets Derek. saying that he won because he always gets the ringer takes away all his work and...let's be fair...this is only a bad case of sour grapes

of course she's not there only to loose weight! that is a welcomed side effect, but only that. i bet she said more in the interview for the presentation...what you hear is only what the producers decide to air...She is there for multiple reasons actually...first being the exposure for the upcoming Ricki Lake Show. the second that i know about is donating the money to The children of Jacaranda. the third is to get Derek to choreograph her wedding song :)) just joking about the last one!
@elara38 I know there's more to her coming back than just being inspired to loose weight by Kirsti A. But if you think about it loosing weight can't hurt for her show, and so many brides like to slim down for their wedding. Honestly she looks great, but she's inspired me to work throughout the show to drop a few pounds. I've never watched The Biggest Looser and this is my first season watching DWTS but I think the latter will be more to watch and do cardio too! :-)
@elara38 it was Ricki herself who stated she got on board DWTS to lose weight for her wedding & added to ask if Derek can choreograph for her fiancee& her for their wedding day...she didn't look like she was joking when she made those statements. In terms of "donating", I have higher regard for people who simply donate, period!!!.
Ricki can't compare to Jennifer grey ...technique or chemistry with Derek but she has great potential ...I'm still rooting for her and Derek's 4th trophy

Derek Hough has such class and grace in his choreography, and is a true professional even at his young age, however, he does not seem to have that certain spark that he had when dancing with Jennifer Grey. Could it be that Jennifer had such a strong passion for dancing and, based on her comments, Riki Lake has joined the show merely to loose weight?
@WoodIsle99 agreed...Jennifer & Derek share the same passion for dancing. He's a great teacher & he got that passionate amazing beautiful dance partner in Jen.Their relationship as dance partners then good friends is awesome!
@WoodIsle99 No that's definitely not it. Derek has stated several times that Ricki has a genuine love for dancing as well. I do agree that Ricki didn't have that spark Jennifer had, but I think that was because Jennifer was so unique. She was naturally born to dance. Ricki's dance was very beautiful though and I enjoyed it.

I am plus size andhave been dancing as a amatuer for 10 years now and I do it becasuse I have a love and passion for dancing, not just loosing weight. If all you focus on is the weight lose you won't get very far in dancing.
Aw she looked so pretty. She danced well too, she totally has potential to go far. Derek always brings out the best in his partners too so I'm excited to see more.
Loved this performance. Derek and Ricki rocked it! And can i say that this is one of the best performances by the band.
