i diden't releash the kite it as i crashed i already past my kite so wat you see is the kite is falling down and as it is fully in the wind screen it powers up because of my leash and my leash broke because the force was so strong it just snapt then you see the kite fly away and the people that think wat is in his mouth that is the thing that you grab when you want to releash...

I went kiting at this same spot...Gusts blew kite toward shore but much higher...Me and the kite were snagged by the windmill at the top of the hill...I was there spinning around for 4 hours till the local rescue emt's got me down!...Still have no idea where my board went!

In the end everthing can break! But there's a lot of difference between good and bad leashes and this one wasn't so strong. I'm using a custom hp leash that hold enormous power but is able to release with a top notch QR.

Pls take in mind it is not a bad thing to hang under something and just QR like 100times to get used to it only then u can use the QR in bad things olike this if the leash wont break

The problem was, the enormous power of the kite, flyin straight through the powerzone in that strong wind (~6+ bft) cut off his secon safetyleash. All leashed are created to break when too much force pulls on it.

My best guess as to what happened: He was hooked in, sent the kite, looped it in the air, landed downwind hot and crashed. The lines went slack and the kite drifted into the power zone, he ejected the chicken loop release, the kite violently powered up as the lines tensioned, and either it broke the leash, or he wasn't using a leash, or it released, or it broke the mini-5th and the kite took off with no connection to the rider.

When he's coming back he's holding something in his mouth.
