@stevesusenet I'm sorry for what happened to your father but I want this misinformation to stop. Meat, milk and eggs causing cardiovascular disease is false claim that is based on a very old study omitted variables. The study linked saturated fats with these diseases. However, you have to ask yourself how can saturated fat give us these diseases if it was the main fuel source of ancient man. Saturated fat is the stored fat in animals, why would man discard food?
@BrowsanChillan because unlike ancient man we don't spend our time running around jungles and hunting. We use much less energy now and that's why too much of it very bad for us. It's an evolutionary requirement: our bodies don't need as much fuel as theirs did and that's why man should discard some types of food (but then again that's my opinion, you're free to hold your own)
I just saw my father a few days after his triple bypass. It is one thing to hear how devastating those operations are, but it is another thing to see where your own father's sternum was cracked open. Cardiovascular disease and cancer are the two leading causes of death for Americans. Meat, milk and eggs are the leading contributors to these things. Don't go vegetarian, but do cut down on that crap to no more than 4 ounces a day. You and your family will be happier.
@Osskyw Seasoning before cooking allows the spices to sink in to the meat, adding flavor thorough instead of just the crust. Besides salt and pepper there are many other spices that can be used to cook up a good steak, if you know what you're doing. Quite a few more sophisticated grilling techniques require turning the meat over a few times more, depending on the desired 'layers of flavor' and the ingredients.
Also just wondering if you have any tips on marinating the steak? In the past I've done a light marinade of lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and a small bit of Italian dressing. It seemed to work pretty well but not sure if my timing was correct, I had it in the fridge for about 4 hours prior to cooking it. I didn't let it warm to room temperature like you said so I'll be sure to do that. Thanks again for the vid!
As much as I agree with you with regards to Ramsay, the British do know their food. Look at Fortnum & Mason's. Miles higher than a lot around the world, if not all.
This guy CANNOT cook a steak!! His methods are all questionable!! Yes anybody can f*** a steak up that's easy!! You HAVE to sear the outside with a burner to start with to kill bacteria - then you cannot cook it at very high temp as the proteins in the meat tighten and expell the 'juice' as this idiot praises. The juice shoulde be locked in the meat and the higher the temp the tighter the protein strands restrict in the meat losing flavour!! Me do my own steak and show this BOZO how - period....

medium or medium-well is where its at.
Rare or medium rare..... well, don't know about you, but its a little too risky for my taste. Exposure to bacteria/parasites/worms is a bit higher if you consume rare meat.
Not at all! if it's a solid piece of meat (ie not ground), all the bacteria is concentrated on the surface. Searing the meat well kills the bacteria on the outside, pretty much eliminating the risk of getting sick. I eat my steak blue (seared on the outside, raw and cool in the middle). Granted, there's no such thing as risk free meat (or fish, or chicken, or LETTUCE!), but if you buy a quality steak from a good butcher the risk is really low. EAT RARE!!
What i do is when each side is half way done, spin the steak 90 degrees. this gives it another set of searing lines, which gives it a nice hatch mark look. it does nothing for the flavour, it takes literally 2 seconds to do, and yet people love it :P
he said cook medium rare where its pink in the middle thats just medium not medium rare, medium rare is when more then the center is pink and medium well is when a thin line in the center is pink and medium has a pink middle... shows how much he knows about steaks... i love mines medium so i know the differences

Yeah, eat red meat Americans Yeah, get it into you mmmmmmmmmm Hey you gonna die of something right? May as well be cancer eh? yeah eat it mmmm you know you love it mmmmm!
After you turn it for the last time put a pat of butter in the pan and while it melts spoon over the meat. You can also add thyme sprigs or rosemary sprig to the butter which will flavor it.
I can't believe you recommend cooking it fast! If it works it works though. I've always found steaks to hold juices better if they simmer for a good 30 minutes. Of course, olive oil prevents it from drying out as well. Good watch though non the less.
=/ People are far too over sanitary these days, its actually unhealthy. Please remember that evolutionarily speaking humans are still designed to eat vegetables and meat raw, of all types, omnivores. The only reason we can't is because we've all become so bloody sanitary that we've ceased building immunities to new strands of bacteria and viruses for the last thousand years or so... Just food for thought. Beef is actually relatively safe to eat raw.
I can't thank you enough for this ifood video mann...the steak was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! i smoked out the house on the 1st steak but is was worth it... =) LOL. You made me look real good with the Fam'...they don't even eat steak(like me) and we were fightin' like a pack of ravenous wolves over the last piece(of course we all shared it). Thanks for the easy instructions and adding a strong weapon to my cooking arsenal!!! You've won a faithful follower.
Trust me..living with cancer isn't "enjoying life". I watched my grandfather spend a long time moaning in agony, slowly turning into a skeleton until he died...It's not worth it.
You don't have to eat shit to enjoy a good life. I am very happy and healthy, thank you very much.
I don't think your victims are enjoying their short lives of confinement, pain, and suffering.
Here's a thought that you may not have any room for: some local farmers actually care about their animals and give them a very fine existance. Egg layers and milk cows, for example, can live happy, healthy lives on a farm which mimics nature but protects them from predation and disease. Hard to see these creatures as victims really . . . beneficiaries maybe.
And do you think cows just lactate all the time for no reason? They produce milk for their babies. They are artificially inseminated (raped) and their babies taken away so we can steal the breastmilk. Egg laying hens are usually killed when production declines and male chicks are killed since they don't produce. They ARE victims of speciesism.
You need to look up paleolithic nutrition. There are NO stats that prove red meat causes anything but good health. It's the bread & potato that are killing you - &, in combination with meat, it's really bad. Look it up. It is my untested theory(this doesn't imply false) that it is fiber, not meat, that causes bowel cancer. We evolved eating bone marrow and the ocassional seasonal fruits, nuts and berries. Of course, maybe you don't believe in science - in which case I'm wasting my breath. peace
That's a lot of knives.

I followed this video and cooked the best steak i have ever cooked at home.

I can't believe you recommend cooking it fast! If it works it works though. I've always found steaks to hold juices better if they simmer for a good 30 minutes. Of course, olive oil prevents it from drying out as well. Good watch though non the less.

its the way to go, at most i put mine in the over for about 8 mins after a good sear
it is wayyy better than cooking it slow, when you do it slow you kind of boil the steak in its on jucies, its not as good as it sounds

hey man, you used the raw dirty dish that you raw steak was put on.
i could not believe

=/ People are far too over sanitary these days, its actually unhealthy. Please remember that evolutionarily speaking humans are still designed to eat vegetables and meat raw, of all types, omnivores. The only reason we can't is because we've all become so bloody sanitary that we've ceased building immunities to new strands of bacteria and viruses for the last thousand years or so... Just food for thought. Beef is actually relatively safe to eat raw.

...and he's right!
HunterCG 3 years ago
don't ever do that when cooking though, you can do plenty to boost your immunites without getting sick from raw meat juices
it's not a good idea
SorthNarolina 3 years ago
i don't think so, it's just a different dish in a simmilar position
notice how much olive oil was on the dish when he took the steak off, the dish is clean

I eat meat because cows fart methane and carbon into the atmosphere and this is dangerous for our enviroment. I am keeping the balance

VeganButterfly 3 years ago
Here's a thought that you may not have any room for: some local farmers actually care about their animals and give them a very fine existance. Egg layers and milk cows, for example, can live happy, healthy lives on a farm which mimics nature but protects them from predation and disease. Hard to see these creatures as victims really . . . beneficiaries maybe.
timbrewolf1 3 years ago
And do you think cows just lactate all the time for no reason? They produce milk for their babies. They are artificially inseminated (raped) and their babies taken away so we can steal the breastmilk. Egg laying hens are usually killed when production declines and male chicks are killed since they don't produce. They ARE victims of speciesism.

What doesn't cause cancer these days, just enjoy life.

Of course, maybe you don't believe in science - in which case I'm wasting my breath. peace
