The guy threatened the police with death on numerous occasions, there was a warrant for his arrest for terrorist threats and threatening people on the street near his home, when they went to arrest him he shot at a deputy and they shot back in self defense. If you really wanted to help you would tell people how crazy Cooper was and how dangerous he was to the general public, if he hadn't been killed when police went to arrest him he would have undoubtedly killed an innocent person, possibly his own family. He was a very delusional individual, he lied about his military career and even changed his stories on numerous occasion until he finally admitted that he had no knowledge of any alien spacecraft being hidden by anyone.
