A soldiers' song. Men proud of their branch of service and always looked out for each other. It always disturbes me how people think all of these men were Nazi. Even in the Waffen SS very few were party members, many were devout Christians. I'm a 30 year US Navy Aviation vet and we never had a song like this......

The Waffen SS operated the Nazi death camps. They carried out mass murders, ethnic cleansing and racial massacres on a scale only exceeded by Mao and Stalin.

The Waffen SS were ALL 'party members' whose sole loyalty was to Hitler alone..not Jesus.

The Allgemire SS, or General SS as known were thugs who ran the concentration camps and so on. Himmler expanded his SS as a way for him to hold power, and Hitler approved it. @ironhorzmn Yes, you are correct about 'Totenkoph' as originally organized as a fighting unit. It's ranks would be purged nearlly 200% when fighting the Russians. Non-Germans fighting in SS uniform...... Albania, Armenia, France, Geogia, India, Ireland, Poland, Spain.. And yes, my own great uncle Abraham Voth, a Prussian Jew lost forever (killed in combat) somewhere past the Dnieper river. it was a dedication more for the Fatherland than the Nazi's.

SS were so desperate for cannon fodder in the final years of WWII that they turned to their occupied nations for troops.

It would be reasonable to conclude that the strict standards, ancestry requirements and even the training regimen were, shall we say, relaxed.

They were still Soldiers on the field fighting for each other as much as anything. They were NEVER fodder... They gave as good as they got, read any Allied memoir. A conscript will be the first to run when the chips are down. "Waffen SS, The Encyclopedia, by Marc J. Rikmenspoel" is the read I would recommend.

Lloyd George didnt want as severe conditions as then france would be dominant in Europe and he wanted a balance of power. the US wanted to see trade recommence and to invest in Germany, they had no wish to see Germany crippled. treaty was a compromise between the views but the territory and military conditions were mostly Frances idea-they feared Germany. i see u have an i.r.a vid on ur profile they are terrorists and u need help if u support wat they have/are doing.

It is a good movie and there is no way to deny that. Like I said the germans in world war 2 were good people. The war is not over yet, Hitler's plan will come to light again and this time we shall win. I have no problem with the Jews their white.
