Has anyone checked out Jill Bolte Taylor's 'a stroke of insight' on TED? She explains quite simply and concisely how the right hemisphere of the brain takes information from the windows of the senses and makes a collage of the present moment, it only knows of the present moment. The left hemisphere deals with the organisation of that information gathered from the senses, it works linearly and considers a past and a future. Maybe meditation is a temporary silencing of the left hemisphere.
