  • "Dr Greene, you coming?" Fantastic!

  • I love how the show went full circle. Dr. Greene teaches Dr. Carter ("you set the tone")....

then Dr Carter teaches Dr. Greene. Beautiful!!! Absolute Genius!!

  • "Dr Greene, you coming?" Fantastic!

  • Now I wish Id studied med.... :(

  • John Carter was my first TV crush my mom watched this show when I was little and I wasn't allowed to watch it with her but i used to hide behind the couch and watch it anyways because I could not resist Carter <3

  • I loved ER I watched it for years everyday at 11am :) I miss it so much :(

  • who doesnt love Morris

  • ER SUCKS Chicago Hope RULES CASE CLOSED REAL TALK REAL FUCKING TALK

  • @Ghostbusters32012

Yeah right, tell that to the 116 awards won including 23 Emmys, and 124 Emmy nominations of this awesome show, with an altogther total nomination of 375 awards across the industry. Tell that to 15 years of quality programming.

  • @SithExecutor I AM RIGHT YOU MORON ER SUCKS YOU FUCKING IDIOT

  • @Ghostbusters32012

Lol. There's no need to get angry. The awards bit is fact, quality programming is opinion, but I'm sure it wouldn't have been nominated for or won as many awards if the critics didn't think it was a good show. Get over it.

  • @SithExecutor Chicago Hope IS A GOOD SHOW TWO

  • @Ghostbusters32012

I never said it wasn't. In fact, I would probably agree since the two shows were competing heavily. Let's just agree we each have our own views. For me it'll always be ER, having watched it from the beginning. For others, it'll be Chicago Hope, and that's great, too :)

  • ER will always be my favorite show, never have i seen such amazing story writing along with such Great Character Development, Amazing Acting, Camera work and Editing. Never Will this show be beat. Never. <3

  • omg Dr Greene, you coming? .. what a perfect way to end it crying again

  • Is it just me or did Dr. Greene get hot? LOL! When I first saw the end on the night it aired & heard the classic theme come on in the end I was just frozen & stared at the TV for 10 minutes! :-( LOL!

  • greatest tv show ever made :)<3 I miss er :(

  • wow. chills.

  • I was seven when the 1st season of ER aired.. I loved Dr. Greene and the scene where he died was probably one of the saddest moments of TV history. It's so befitting that Rachel comes in for the final episode... "Dr. Greene, you coming?" - perfection. A fantastic show, a contender for one of the best ever.

  • That was sooooo poignant. Carter asks Rachel Greene, or rather calls her doctor. It parallels the torch being passed from Mark to her. So fitting an end. Then the camera scans out and you hear the theme music, giving you the impression that life goes on at County.

  • Tears in their eyes as they wait.

  • The sound of that train coming in seemed to blend in well with the music at that point, i've watched this ending so many times now it's unreal. I can't get over how great it was. They axe all the best shows yet keep crap on tv and we have to pay for it, something not right there.

  • That girl we first see when it starts sounded very nervous or tense going by the way she sounded.

  • I didn't watch the final season after Luka & Abby left -- I wasn't bitter, they were just the last two characters I was really invested in. But after watching about 11 seasons of the show and more in reruns, I have to say the ending was perfect, downright poetic.

  • still cry when I see this :(

  • Part of Michael Crichton´s legacy =). Always found it funny though how over -dramatized the series was, even if it was meant for entertainment and such, perhaps even motivated (and motivating today) people to enroll in the medical field.

  • I still get anxious with anticipation on Thursday nights at 10pm. Just for a second and then I remember ER is no more.

  • I really miss this show! I watched it when my first son was born until the end 15 years later. Now he's 17.

  • I think I will never be able to process that ER ended. In my small room somewhere in Hungary,I had been watching ER for 15 long years.I grew up watching this series, and I totally identified with the characters' life.I loved them all,I cried with them,I laughed with them-call me sentimental or stupid,I don't mind.ER was the only series which I couldn't get bored of.I miss its atmosphere, the actors, and I'll miss them in my whole life.Thank you for the wonderful 15 years!R.I.P. Michael Crichton!

  • @Liaram66 I totally agree with you

  • Wow. This gives me memories of what I experienced in real life.

  • Do you think they used a steadicam or Glidecam to pull away in the final shot as the theme music started or would they have had the camera on some kind of vehicle/trailer.?

  • There starting it up again yay :)

  • When this ended, I started bawling because it was like a part of my childhood that ended. But I also felt extremely satisfied with this fitting ending to a wonderful show! And I was more than thrilled that Carter was there!

  • racheal is a hottie!!

  • The only time you got to see a sizable portion of the exterior of County General Hospital!

  • 0:01

That actress is now playing Diana on The Secret Circle.

  • 2:26 - "Dr. Greene, you commin?" Absolutely beautiful double entendre...

  • You just don't get that many Series Finales like this anymore! Mainly though, I think that's due to shows often getting canceled so quickly, the producers, writers and actors can't come up with a good way to end them.

  • I thought the er exploded in the end.....my wife made me watch the last show with her like it was a movie premier..

  • I have never seen E.R but I know its fricken good,

  • I just realized that this is the first time they showed the entire hospital.

  • All I can say is what an amazing ending to an amazing television production.

  • I both hate and love this scene. Hate it, since this was one of the reasons I choose to become a doctor, and after finishing it, I just realized this isnt the reality. Why I love it? Well, do I even have to answer?

  • One of the best long time running shows of ALL times!! :)

  • God I wonder how much the poor company had to pay out on insurance for those guys lol!

  • To end it with Carter, little Greene and the whole staff doing what they do was just awesome and I cry every time I see this scene. And they fact that he called Mark's daughter "Dr. Greene" brought tears, even though Mark is dead, he lives on through his family and his friends.

  • this is how you close a series:) greatest ending i think

  • ending as intense as it started!

and with a dr greene in start and finish!

  • Buy the older seasons first, 1 at a time. New and used for the first like 7 years you can find really cheap deals. Don't buy em all at once.

  • i remember watching this show ever since i could remember, mayb around 97 or 98 until the last episode with my family every thursday night, it was one of the only times when we all sat down on our couch together as a family. one of my all time favorite shows. I would buy all the season, but its like 5 or 6 hundred dollars

  • I didn't start watching this show until about 2006. But ever since then I was hooked! I was so sad when it ended. There will never be another show like ER.

  • I for one was pretty pleased with how it ended. Much like Hill Street Blues twenty years before it, the writers and producers opted to leave it in a manner of '...and life still goes on..." since, ER's just like Police Precincts just keep going. Doctors and personell will change, and lives will be altered, but the ER keeps on running, and patients keep coming and going...

  • :D

  • This show inspired me to becoming a doctor :'-) Thanks ER

  • I loved this show. I'm very sad it had to end.. And I feel it was left in a weird place for the True Finale... I'm a pre-med student and wish I could see more! :-)

  • I get chills at Carter's line.

  • Last shift i was resuscitating a patient and in my iphone the ringtone is the ER soundtrack, man that was an emotion...

  • Adding alexis bledel for the last two episodes of the series was kind of a wierd thing to do it was very random. Like there was no need to add new characters.

  • When the music starts playing I start tearing up.

  • I miss ER...This has and always will be my favorite show ever...I feel teary eyed right now LOL....:[

  • The final episode of ER marked the end of an almost 50 year period of excellence on network television. Quality programming has now shifted to cable (e.g., The Sopranos and Mad Men)

  • RIP Michael Crichton. You gave us Jurassic Park and The Lost World. Most importantly you gave us ER. Thank you for everything you did sir.

  • These series inspired me to be a doctor when i was a teen . Now i'm the young Carter in E.R and it's full of adrenalin each shift.

  • @dopleris666 HELL YES BROTHA.

  • I just finished season 15. This show has meant so much to me. I started watching it in September of 2009 and just now finished it in Febuary of 2011. I was in the military in Korea when I started, now I am out and in college. This show is truly epic. To me, it is the single best cinematic production in the history of film. I honestly believe that. From the 5-10 minute-long screen shots to the amazing character development, nothing will ever compare. Ever. Thanks, cast. Thanks, Crichton

  • @chris77jay77 seasons 1-7 where the best.. when greene died er died

  • This might sound stupid to some, but what unit system do the Americans use when administering drugs? It's only because I know they haven't adopted the metric system etc.

  • @J20M07 i think they are still on the imperial system

  • @BazokaB They are officially but I think they use metric units with regards to drugs, I'm sure they do

  • This is the best TV show that have ever aired on TV. Truly remarkable characters. ER will be missed. Again: The best TV show of all time.

  • just like the pilot episode I cried soooooooooooooooo much when I saw this thumbs way up for John Wells :)

  • just like the pilot episode I cried soooooooooooooooo much when I saw this

  • so they have grey's anatomy on instead of this? really?

  • @piratepaul95 Ugh, I know, right? =/

  • @Musiclovr45 its so ridiculous

  • Some people are fortunate enough to retain some roughly good appearance as the years catch up, but Noah Wyle, the dude ages like friggin wine.

  • nice vid

  • I watched this, last April. There was no way in hell I was missing it. I even had to fight my sister, who wanted to watch Grey's Anatomy at the same time, instead....lol. I bawled at the very end, when the old theme started and they showed the full pan-out of County General. It was SO HARD to see my favorite show ending in front of my eyes. I knew Thursday night TV would never be the same after that. And it hasn't been. : (

  • Proud to be a huge ER fan. I've got seasons 1 through 11 on DVD. And it was also my late mother that got me watching the show. She watched it right from the start, and I didn't like the show. Then she stopped watching, right after Mark Greene died, (she said the show was no good after that) and I started watching it. Been a fan ever since. Wish they hadn't canceled it. : (

  • One of the better dramas ever made. And to think, i didn't even like the show when it first started! I really do miss it, but it went off exactly when it should have.

  • They should make a sequil...

  • Scrubs is the only show which comes close to ER in terms of finales. Specifically, the eighth season finale. Nothing was tied off, no loose ends written away. There was still that feeling that life would still throw curve-balls and nothing would ever be easy. But for a brief moment we saw what life could be.

And like ER, Scrubs' true finale ended as the theme was playing. Like another day would dawn and life would continue normally at Sacred Heart.

  • I think that what makes this so great is that it ends with the intro music playing. I mean, it's one things seeing them work on a trauma as ending-type music plays. But it's completely different when the intro begins. It's both an ending and a beginning. Just another night in the ER. But it's the last night we'll see.

  • @HumanSeekingTruth

It's the same, yet different. We are left with what we always had: A busy Emergency Ward, with doctors and nurses all depending on each other to save the lives of people in need. The faces change but the heart was always there. The difference being that we will never see another new day in the life of the doctors and nurses in the ER. It didn't wrap up all the loose ends, because it's a show based on the life of doctors. Nothing ever comes cleanly together.

  • O: its rory

  • It's like losing old friends. Each one of them was teary eyed as the camera panned.

  • This was the most perfect ending to an amazing show. It changed television, forever.

We began with Dr. Greene, and we ended with Dr. Green. Carter, the student, was now the teacher. Absolutely perfect!

  • @cards0486 THAT IS TRUE BUT WHAT MAKES THIS FINALE SO COMPLETE FOR ME WAS ELIZABETH HELPED THE VERY FIRST THING ON HIS BUCKET LIST, "FIX RACHEAL"

  • @nkotbrocks2007 I forgot all about that. That's right! I'm waiting for the 15th season to finally come out on DVD. I got through Season 6. George wasn't in it, until that last perfect scene with Carol, but he's talked about all the time.

I was glad it was Rachel, so many nurses were in this final one. And the opening was just like the opening of the 1st episode.

    It was perfect.

  • This scene just sent shivers up my spine. It was one of the coolest scenes I've ever seen on TV.

  • This scene final is so good, especially when Carter asks Mark Green's daughter Rachele if she wants to join!! What a beautiful ending!

  • all time favorite ER docs 1. Dr Carter 2. Dr Greene 3. Dr Benton 4. Dr. Susan Lewis 5. Dr Abbey Lockhart 6. Dr Ross7. Dr. Neela Rasgotra 8. Dr Pratt 9. Dr. Lizzie Corday 10. Dr Kovac 11. Dr Barnett 12. Dr. Romano and Nurse Carol Hathaway

  • Rmember when that one dr got smashed by a helicopter?

  • @sluggo06 that was dr. romano, its karma because in season 9 he had his armed sliced of by a helicopter, and his career as a surgeon was over

  • @ilovejfast thats gotta suck. all those years of hard work and then he cant perform surgery. seems like they could reattach it.

  • @sluggo06 they did reattach it, he lost alot of nerve endings and in complex surgies someonelse had to take over, also it was constantly getting infected, one time while he was cooking it accidently caught on fire didnt even feel it, after that he decided to have it amputated

  • @ilovejfast i remember a teacher telling us in class that its really hard to reattach limbs bc they have to connect all the nerves and such. and i know that if a chainsaw cuts something off its that much harder bc the chains grind everyhing up.

  • It really was a good show. I enjoyed it. Especially since I am now in medical school and spent the 3 years before school working in ER and trauma.

  • I was sad to see this show end. I cried like a baby when Pratt died. my mom was laughing at me and Im all like "ITS NOT FUNNY!" anyways i was happy with the ending. it was openended. rachel greene is going to be a doctor, and everyone was together...well not everyone but you know. I wasnt disappointed. I cried at the end of this. I always will FOREVER LOVE ER! <3

  • Perfect finale.

  • Oh god! This was so beautifull. Hearing the intro music at the end made an unforgetable memory in my mind.....

  • @Feyen92 i know what ya mean...i wished this show never ended..i would have watched it forever

  • the mother of all series............

  • so the series is finished? forever? i'm belgian and this season still hasn't been aired yet... someone tell me; is ER finished? cause i loved that show!

  • @whiteken yes this is the final scene ever of the show. it ended in America in April 2009

  • I love the way the ended ER...it's as though they kept the story going, even though we don't get to keep seeing it.

  • @callumjohn I agree. The show was very good at that. Doctors come and go, but County stayed County.

  • If only being an ER doctor was really this good.

.... well, sometimes it is, but not commonly!

  • Yes she is the same actor ;)

  • i've seen just a few episode, but....this is fucking epic.

  • Can't believe it's all over now - was such a good show! sniff...!

  • How sterile can carters gloves be when he touched the basketball with them lol. I knwo what a thing to pick but also isn't this a similar scene to the beginning?

  • Every time I watch this, and I hear Carter say, "Dr. Green, you comin'?", I remember watching the younger Rachel Green putting the headphones on her dad (Mark Green) as he passed away in his sleep to the song 'Some where over the rainbow' and start to tear up a little.....and I'm a 32 year old guy!!!

  • I thought it was definetly fitting Carter got to say those words at the end. He was always the tragic hero of the series. He had so many ups and downs throughout the series. You get to see him go from plucky med student to seasoned doctor. ER was a rare show. Not many tv shows can boast the longetivity of this series. you really get to see how characters(carter, benton) change over the course of a decade. truly great show.

  • Flawless finish to the show, easily one of the best TV shows ever.

  • 日本では10月からseason15がいよいよスタートします。早く見たいです。

  • This show was unboubtably the best medical drama ever. I've watched every episode multiple times and never get tired of any of it. It got me through life at point, knowing on Thursday at 10-I could unwind, realax, and be along the side of staff at County General Hospital.

  • the most amazing series for the last times

  • I get Goosebumps every time I watch this last scene and hear Dr.Carter ask "Dr.Greene, you coming?" Simply amazing writing until the very end!

P.S: Where the hell did that Gilmore Girl come from? She just showed up the last episode. Thought that was kind of lame.

  • This was a good show.

  • I absolutely adored ER. Remember when I was little and my mom always made sure me and my brother went to sleep early so she could have a moment's calm and just watch ER. Just a childhood memory :)

  • I miss this show. Waaaahhhh!

They don't even show the TNT reruns anymore.

  • Классный сериал!!!!!

  • Best show ever

  • didnt end like I wanted..

  • So sad it ended. I grow up watching and learning ER. This last episode kind of remind me the first one.

  • Even seeing this now, I still get teary, now that ER is gone. My mom was a huge fan up until season 8. She stopped watching right after Mark Greene died (he was her FAV character) and I didn't care for the show. By season 10, I was right into it, and as huge a fan right to the very end, as my mom had been. So, I can say....SHE turned me on to the show and I'll always have her to thank for that. RIP Mom.

  • epic finale. awesome show

  • Anyone know where I can find the part where a patient says, "I am the Chosen One, I am Lugia"?

  • absolutely nice

  • I remember looking forward to Thursday nights just to watch this show when I was a kid. Then growing up to work in a real ER. :) Oh how this show has impacted me.

  • The actor that play Dr Greene's daughter in season 9, is she the same actor in this?

    because they look the same.

  • @equinoxdbz Yes, Hallee Hirsh

  • @equinoxdbz , yes she is the same actress...the best of ER is the real look...

  • @equinoxdbz

I think shes the same actress through out ER even when she was a little girl.

  • @andyk6925 No, a different actress played her through season 6. She wasn't seen at all in season 7 and then 8 came along and she was played by Hallee Hirsch seen above

  • @SG1Mitchell My apologies, you were completely correct.

  • @andyk6925 no need to apologize

  • I miss ER!

  • SO BEAUTIFUL!

They're eyes are a bit teary

  • i don`t get it on eastlink regular cable maybey ehen i get digatal cable or satilite

  • While the last couple of seasons of this show bored me a little, overall i really enjoyed ER! So many storylines, and most of them believable, is what made this show so great for so many years. ER is a tv classic!

  • there is noway something like this would happen in real life. all the doctors, and nurses standing out there like that?? atleast ive never seen anything like that at the ER's around here. i hated that red headed kid him and a few other's is why i quit watching this show toward the end.

  • @nibornna Yes it still happens, I've seen it happen when a patient has coded. upon arrival the E.R staff is waiting with doors open and either a nurse or doctor meet us at the ambulance bay.

  • @CBH really? like i said i have never seen it around here so i thought it was just something they did for the show.

  • @nibornna although rare, but it still happens. But with scenario given (explosion). it's a mass causality incident so something like this may happen. But i first hand have experienced this a couple of times.

  • i like it

  • Hey guys, I know this is a long shot. But I really want to go to medical school but I can't afford it. Would you guys please subscribe to my account so that I can be accepted onto the Youtube partnership program & raise money to accomplish my dream? I would really appreciate it. Thanks :-)

  • i do not think they could have ended this show in a better way than this one. this ending really captured the essence of the entire show.

  • omg i had the biggest crush on carter when i was younger lol

  • "Dr. Greene...are you coming?" *sniff*

  • I miss ER so much, but I guess it was time to come to an end. Lots of the doctors got a proper ending, but the character Carter still stands pretty open to me. We've followed him ever since he was a medstudent to becoming one of the finest doctors. Carter has been my favourite all along, and I like the ending where he comes back to ER where he truly belongs, but I really wished for him to have a family to come home to... I think he at least deserved that.

  • fsnaqvi0, He is refering to when he worked there many seasons ago.

  • I'm sad the show ended. At first I wasn't so sure about if I liked this ending or not, but now I think it's perfect. There have been lots of traumas around the characters, but in the end the main thing is the emergency room. And I love how that is pointed out in this ending and how the ER kind of goes on.

  • When I think about it, this final scene was a wonderful way to end the show, but it still makes me sad that it's over. But I suppose even the best shows have to end sometime, and I do have to admit that the earlier seasons were better (IMO).

  • Where can I find the part of this episode where a patient says, "I am the Chosen one, I am Lugia."???

  • I don't think they could have ended this any better. What a great way to wrap up such an awesome series. It really showed the essence of the show. I miss ER, although I like the early seasons better than the recent ones.

  • i've heard things about this show but i'm not sure whats it about or if its a soap opera or not. but it looks like a nice show, so can some one please tell me about this show.

  • @sirangel4 sometimes very soap opera-ish but mostly a fine medical drama, very character oriented. The best seasons are 1-9
