I bought a new snowblower and now we are not getting any snow. Last year we had a shit load of snow by now. Now we have had a few inches and it a melted.
Half these negative comments are by kids dubbin around, craving a life from their bedrooms, who have probably also never had to pick up a snow shovel in their lives.
So how would they know how densely drifted snow can set up.
Looks to me like you did as well as anybody could. The weight to tire traction balance on these Huskies seem like they could be better.
@blewismtz i ost got one and it does pick up a little gravel but if you get a company or urself to take the gravel and pile it up at the side of your drive way that is the best solution
Not great on gravel even with skid plates down an inch. Weld on a length of 3/8 rod to the scraper blade. Helps prevent skid plate from popping-out more highly exposed larger stones that get pressed out from sun-thaw-refreeze cycles.
some one just gave me a huge 2 stage snow blower i think its kinda funny it has little set of snow chains for it hahaha they look like mini vertions of the ones i have for my big truck lol =3-
I use a 11 HP Husqvarna machine and the thing is the worst POS I have ever used. You constantly have to fight to keep it going striaght, it climbs more than any machine I have ever used, the least little bbit of harder snow it is impacted and stalled, the conbtrols are all under the handles where you can't reach them without being on your knees. Most of the time it is less physical effort to shovel the snow by hand. This thing is two years old and it will be traded in for something decent.
dude has no clue. put it in a slower gear and let it eat it up. would be more impressive. you wouldn't be fighting it so much. Job would be alot eaiser
also. why are you blowing over what you have already done? Just my thoughts
@Firebirdking61 THIS SNOW DRIFT IS HARD AS A ROCK, IT SAT THERE FOR ABOUT 1 WEEK, THIS THING WAS ABOUT 100 FEET LONG AND 40 FT WIDE, YOU CAN SEE AND HERE HOW HARD THE ICE " SNOW " SAW.
@Firebirdking61 My Huskvarna has no gears. Variable speed forward and so slow you have to drag it in reverse. Gets stuck all the time and I have to lift it out of the hole the wheels are digging in reverse. POS.
@Firebirdking61 you are right, he is being a hard head. for example @ 4:06 the wheels are spinning, and the blow is having a hard time doing the work. you might want to explain it to him again, because from the response he gave you, it doesn't look like he understands what you said the first time. you might want to explain to him there is a reason why that there are different speeds on snowblowers. let me see if this works...slower speeds are for a heavy snow, for a lot of snow.
It's DRIFTED snow. And on a ground surface that cannot be scraped clean enough to let the tires work at slow speeds.
If you he me or anybody used a slower speed none of us would catch enough thrust to crack off chunks of that stuff from the front of the drift. The weight of the machine has to penetrate the hard pack. At slow speeds these Huskies will just sit there and the tranny/wheels barely turn as the tires make nice slippery ruts to grind out in.

@Firebirdking61 Ii correct myself. Ran into a similiar snow drift on my drive and mine did the same thing even on slow. Once it warmed up and refroze it got hard.
This guy looks like he has no idea how to use a snow blower. every time the front end leans up like it is, that's an indication that he is going too fast
That a nice machine, I want to get one is it the low, med, or pro version? In a 24 in they go for $900, $1300, or $1700, that have the hydrostatic transmission?

Either the friction disc adjustment is off or it is not set to a low enough speed. Both are indications of trying to go too fast.
It also looks like it could use the high speed impeller kit that is standard on the Crown models.
