I know no one is going to like this... but, what Dana just said is 100% accurate. All Fedor has to do is step in front of a mic and camera and say "I'll fight anyone in the UFC, lets see who the best in the world is." Dana White would be forced to give Fedor the fight, then we'd get to see who the best heavy-weight in the world is.

Up until recently, Fedor really was not a fighting at a rate that would keep him at #1 status, and when he did fight, he fought guys who he really should have not been fighting because of his overall skill vs their freakishness.
However, he just beat Arlovski and Sylvia, and if he beats Barnett, he will the most dominate HW in MMA history, bar none.

Not necessarily. Fedor and Lesnar would make for an amazing fight, having qualities that are vastly opposite from one another. Lesnar beat a skilled veteran and MMA legend in Couture with nothing but his size and strength with only 3 fights under his belt. That's scary. It'd be interesting to say the least to find out whether he could overcome Fedor's experience, skill, and speed. Lesnar is an interesting match-up with ANYONE.
Oh don't get me wrong. I'd like to see it too. However, in a year or two when Lesnar develops into a complete mixed martial artist. As for right now I find Emelianenko/Arlovski or Emelianenko/Barnett far more intriguing simply because Arlovski and Barnett are at least relatively similar in terms of skill to Emelianenko.
Emelianenko/Lesnar now would be intriguing, but I believe it would be much more so in a year or two when Lesnar gets the chance to improve his skill level in every area.

Not to mention, one of the UCF's current top-dogs, Frank Mir, has even said he's a fan of Fedor, thinks he's currently the world's best and probably couldn't take him. I know no one is going to like this... but, what Dana just said is 100% accurate. All Fedor has to do is step in front of a mic and camera and say "I'll fight anyone in the UFC, lets see who the best in the world is." While I appreciate your love of Fedor (he is my favorite fighter too), I do agree with some of Dana's points.
Up until recently, Fedor really was not a fighting at a rate that would keep him at #1 status, and when he did fight, he fought guys who he really should have not been fighting because of his overall skill vs their freakishness.
However, he just beat Arlovski and Sylvia, and if he beats Barnett, he will the most dominate HW in MMA history, bar none.

Man, I hate Dana White. He never gives Fedor his due. Fedor choked out his two-time UFC Heavyweight champion in the first 36 seconds of the first round and has now knocked out another one of Dana's former UFC Heavyweight champions in Arlovski. When is Dana gonna get his head out of his ass and admit that Fedor is the best in the world? Fedor may be the greatest fighter of our time, he is in a class all his own.

I don't exactly follow White's logic here, assuming he's seriously presenting his point of view and not just BS'ing for PR points. Fedor has a very impressive resume and is basically unbeaten. That should more than compensate for any fight gap over the last couple years. I'd love to hear a follow-up rant after the Sylvia fight.

White isn't right. He's trying to protect the UFC. There is nothing wrong with that, but at least realize what he's trying to do.
Saying Arlovski isn't a Top 10 HW is ridiculous. Arlovski is the #2 Heavyweight in the world. Just because he is no longer with the UFC doesn't mean he isn't one of the best. Arlovski is a far more credible opponent than Lesnar or Couture.
Hardcore fans would much rather see Emelianenko/Arlovski or Emelianenko/Barnett than Emelianenko/Lesnar.

Not necessarily. Fedor and Lesnar would make for an amazing fight, having qualities that are vastly opposite from one another. Lesnar beat a skilled veteran and MMA legend in Couture with nothing but his size and strength with only 3 fights under his belt. That's scary. It'd be interesting to say the least to find out whether he could overcome Fedor's experience, skill, and speed. Lesnar is an interesting match-up with ANYONE.

Oh don't get me wrong. I'd like to see it too. However, in a year or two when Lesnar develops into a complete mixed martial artist. As for right now I find Emelianenko/Arlovski or Emelianenko/Barnett far more intriguing simply because Arlovski and Barnett are at least relatively similar in terms of skill to Emelianenko.
Emelianenko/Lesnar now would be intriguing, but I believe it would be much more so in a year or two when Lesnar gets the chance to improve his skill level in every area.

I think to a degree u r right he is protecting the ufc like i said i think Fedor would do very well in the ufc, but as an mma fan i want to see him in the ufc on the big fight cards fighting the top guys. i think there are several ufc heavyweights that could cause him alot of problems. im not a huge brock lesnar fan myself but ya have to appreciate that hes the type of guy who could cause fedor major problems. arlovski proved not to be to much of a challange and i dont c barnet beatin fedor

Following is my opinion:
First, Arlovski wasn't dominating, nor Fedor... they did NOTHING until that KO... they just missed each other and eventually caught each other slightly 2-3 times and were in the clinch, then Fedor ROCKED the chin of Arlovski...THE END.
KO can't be set up, as well as Affliction is not such corrupted organization to set up fights...UFC is maybe but then don't think Affliction is also...

For fight fans who want to see Fedor fight Randy Couture or Brock Lesnar, White's intransigence is frustating and dissapointing. If Fedor brings on a devastating win over Orlovski January 24th, as he did over Tim Sylvia, then the fans will continue to cry for such a match up. Lots of Fedor fans here posting about how amazing Fedor is.. Why doesn't he just join the UFC and shut everyone up then? I gotta say, when a guy who supposedly is one of the best fighters in the world refuses to join the top MMA league and fight real competition, well thats a little fishy. Fedor is, for all intents and purposes, undefeated, he knows if he joins the UFC he will fight better competition and eventually lose. When he can he better sign with the UFC or he is a COWARD. Fedor has already beaten 7 of the former UFC champs. His MMA record is 29-1 and he has always fought highly competitive opponents. I really do not see anyone in the UFC heavyweight division that will even come close to beating Fedor like who!?!? Nogueira who Fedor beat twice already. Mir, Couture or Brock? Are those the better competitions for Fedor in the UFC? BTW, Fedor is fighting Andrei Arlovski in this upcoming bout..So I guess that makes Fedor a coward huh?
