The first appearance of the rabbit that would later become Bugs Bunny, is in the 1938 short "Porkys Hare Hunt." He was given the name Bugs Bunny by Charlie Thorson in 1939, but he doesnt officially appear as Bugs Bunny until the short "A Wild Hare" in 1940.

Originsally released in January 1941, and Chuck Jones' second attempt at a Bugs Bunny cartoon ("Elmer's Candid Camera" was his first). It would take Tex Avery to firmly define the character in "Tortoise Beats Hare", released three months after this one. Mel Blanc and Arthur Q. Bryan provide the voices here...
