Part 1 - Inflight Airbus A380 Business Class Experience.

Wow. Not like any flight I've ever been on. Of course, I don't think I've ever flown on a double decker jet and didn't realize what that upper deck was for. So what did that business class ticket cost? And, pray tell, what would a first-class ticket cost? I'd love to visit Dubai (I think), but given the state of the dollar these days I doubt it will ever happen, and it certainly won't happen with a first- or even business-class ticket.  I'd just sit with the tightly packed peasants below deck.

Prices are ever changing but you can look up the Emirates site for current prices (roughly from JFK-CCU Economy is $1400, Business is $4500 - $5000 and First Class may be like $10,000 :). Was this quieter or louder than your A330 takeoff from Calcutta (during cruise, which has the quieter cabin)?

@EmadIV The A330 is the quietest aircraft in aviation (prior to the launch of the 787 - I am not sure about the specs of an 787 yet)

@seatgurus Thanks for the reply. Some reviews on the 787 said it is as quiet as an A380, but that could mean that the A330 is quieter. I just got confused because Airbus' website said that the A380 had a really quiet cabin, when my experience on the A330 proved quieter.

@MrMaxxer25 I am going to try. This is going to be my last trip on Emirates cos from next year on I will try other airlines. This year I am doing a two part video on The Journey documenting the entire two day trip and also will try and do either a First Class or a Economy Class flying experinece. Depends what I can pull off :)

@swan777 This video was shot the night after the biggest storm to hit New York in its history. JFK was shut down for close to two days and hundreds of flights were canceled (including three Emirates flights). So, EK flew in an aircraft from Toronto to help with the backlog. That other A380 boarded couple of hours before us but got stuck n could not be backed up because of ice. She stood there the entire time with all its PAX. The airport was brutal with all the stranded folks but we did OK :)
