  • favorite part

    1:34 - 1:40

  • wtf was that in the background at 0:08??

  • Looks like a good workout!

  • hey hey! Have you thought about intellectus 424 diet (google it)? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my work buddy lost tons of weight with it.

  • vert effective thank U

  • can you really burn fat with weight training or body weight exercise?

  • fucking video

  • robbie williams.

  • I bet he get alot of women!!

  • No scientific backing to his claims for lactic acid fat building!

  • @teweszilliax The body acumilates lactic acid when there is a higher ratio of hydrogen molecules compared to o2 molecules to react and create h20. So the ph levels drop giving it the acidity. The brain recieves signals saying it needs more o2 to mix with the hydrogen, this will mean a person will start breathing heavier as a cause of this. Meaning a person will burn fat as there under a high oxidative state, mainly though after a workout as there glycogen stores are depleated. Thats how LA helps

  • what is it called? random strength training? lol.

  • i don't understand. how many reps does he do in a set? but he did say 10 sets right?

  • @ciara4893 late reply here but its 10 reps of four sets of each i believe

  • omg 0:09-0:10

    its a fucking ghost

  • chris comfort sounds like a gay porn star.

  • @Gibz101. Hu the fuck are u? U wouldn't say shit face to face so don't try and be all hard behind yr computer screen you fuckin douchecunt

  • Kick ass! Actually using the power rack CORRECTLY!

  • @Gibz101. doin this will burn fat even after you've worked out - cv wont do that

  • @chazwhufc Are you stupid or something mate? CV wont burn fat? You're funny:L Maybe if you went for a run you wont be such a fat lazy prick huh?

  • FAAAKE!

    Will burn fuck all calories.

Professional body builders will do about 3hours CV a day when building upto an event.

  • @Gibz101 yes and they also spend about 5-10k in drugs also! This dude is natural and knows what he is talking about.

  • @Gibz101 no they dont.what the fuck are you talking about?

  • how long do you rest between cycles? after you done the squat then pullup superset i mean.

  • niiiiiice! =D

  • waste of time IMO....

working out like this just works all the mucles ineffectively....

  • its much better than pure cardio to burn fat. and still works the muscles decently. i love to hate on these guys but this workout was solid, and his form was great

  • you can't say that !! compared to what cardio? or what intensity ?? it's all relative to the intensity of exercise !

  • the intensity of high density fullbody weight lifting complexes with no rest is almost impossible to match.

try doing a rapid paced barbell complex for 5 rounds with 70-100lbs and tell me you dont want to throw up

  • dude ... it depends how INTENSLEY you do cadio NOT what you do.....

I could easily " try sprinting for a minute with a minute rest for 20 minutes " NOW TELL ME WEIGHTS IS HARDER !!

  • the pull up which is all arm???

    how about ur BACK!

  • A body like that, a Ford model...life doesn't get any better huh :)

  • is he a model with ford?

  • Yes.

  • no you cant just say anything when you dont know

  • how many reps are recommended

  • What he did with the leg squat and back is doing them one after another with out any rest thats called a superset and that is the rest way to burn fat after you cant burn fat nomore other wise or in the beginning of working out or adance or near advance but you cant use heavy weights and because you have to know you weights to use but thats helps you build muscle and bodyfat fast especailly when you eatting 5 or 6 small healthy meals a day and doing cardio it will make you stronger and rip

  • I've seen a bunch of Chris Comfort's videos -- I like him, very well-spoken, obviously fit, attractive, etc. I think he should have a bigger platform than this -- he could be a "star trainer" or whatever.

  • It amazes me how stupid people are... Whey protein is natural protein, what the hell are you talking about? It it from milk. Milk protein is 20 percent whey and 80 percent casein. And it is not bad for you, it is just protein.

  • Protein shakes in the form of whey isolate can actually be harmful if used in excess bcuz they aren't natural protein, and are tough on your kidneys when used in excess. When your kidneys take in all of that protein, it has to filter the waste from all of that concentrated protein and turn it into urea, which can be excreted out of the body, protein is fine, but shakes are so highly concentrated that they can ruin your kidneys.

  • 2 immediate things. i disagree with shooting up from a squat and snapping your legs to lock out like that. you'll pinch the nerves and connective tissue in ur knees and wear them out by the time ur 50. and the squat into explosive "behind the neck" press? no thanks. ill keep my shoulder joints safe from injury the way i do my own routines.

  • He's right about not resting too much between sets. Anything more than 60 seconds starts letting the lactic acid leave the muscle. If you keep the acid level high, you force more muscle fiber to work. He's also right that weight training is more effective than aerobics or cardio for burning fat.

  • america, what's not to love? mis-information is such a huge profitable business in this country.

  • Comment removed

  • cool! I need some exercises that don't add bulk to my muscles. You know. I'm a girl who wants thin thighs! lol!

  • How much is squating with I don't know how heavy 85 pounds is?

  • 40 kg is about 85-90 pounds.

    (2.2 pounds per kilo)

the weight is not meant to be challenging for the squat but is more challenging for the overhead press. the weights for both exercises are less than you would normally use for sets of 10-20 reps because the rest period is so short. the challenge comes more from doing the total volume (multiple sets with low rest) rather than a challenging weight from the start.

  • i love listening to chris comfort he makes more sense then anyone else

  • i know. he seems so real. not like hes trying to sell something like everyone else.

  • yes, but he did say those chin ups were for his arms which is dumb...he may have some book smarts, but he's not a real athlete

  • chin ups are 40% arms your back and lats take the other 60% your arms are in just as much stress and focus as your pull ups lol

  • Lmfao at 2.10

  • good training thought it was 95 on bar, not 85 like he said, olympic bar(45)+25+25.

  • Once again, this type of training is referred to, by world renowned strength couch Charles Poliquin, as German Body Comp training. The higher lactate levels stimulate the pituitary gland to release growth hormone which, next to testosterone, is the most powerful fat mobilizing and burning hormone in the body. Its quite simple, but you won't find this information in your run of the mill physiology text. This is the real world folks.

  • Thanks for chiming in, Chris. Keep up the good work, brother!

  • ok, isnt it better to jsut do normal strength training, and how can i stimulate my pituitary gland to give me more testosterone naturally, because im 16 and have no facial hair till now, and im worried it will affect my training, so how can i stimulate the pituitary gland for more testosterone, naturally...

  • I've heard that some oriental athletes eat bull testicles to boost their testosterone levels. I'm 16 too btw. Don't worry about facial hair. It'll come. And anyway, most teenage girls would rather have a smooth face than a bristly one any day!

  • zinc is the building block for testosterone, u can buy it in pill form from any chemist.

  • take tribulus (spelling maybe tribulis?)...its not pure testosterone....just makes your body produce more....and its cheap and gives you SICK morning wood for, like an hour after taking it for a week or so

  • as i said, man i am only 16 years old, would yo ustill recommend, or will it come naturally anyways. I am considering taking tribulis, but i am afraid that if i take it, then i might not get my natural spurt, and i might have some sort of reliance on it... are oyu sure it just makes your body produce more test. and after you stop. will oyur body cointinue producing at normal levels. And if i take it as an adolescent, will it mean i wont get my natural spurt?

  • Dude - seriously, stay off the chemicals. All you need is a decent workout and a decent diet - it's really not that complicated. The people who take chemicals of any sort, do it because they are lazy, or because they are in a pissing contest with their boyfriends down the gym.

    Take care

  • Stay natural, don't buy in to all the supplements out there. All you need is a good diet and heavy lifting.

  • it wont make it any more for you... your levels are high already

  • Comment removed

  • LOL really wat are you on about, whats wrong with a good quality WPI and some creatine cycled in now and then. Plus i dont eat 5000 calorie a day so i couldnt get the daily requirements in anyway. protein is protein, and muscle doesnt turn into fat. thanks for your advice, i understand what you mean, that a good diet means u dont need any of that stuff, but i cant say i have a good diet, as im busy with a lot so i need supplements. Even if not, theres nothingf wrong wit a good protein supplement

  • o, thats bullshit protein shakes are not harmful whatsoever. yes steroids or things like that are bad, but protein is protein and just because its in a shake does not make it dangerous

  • omg .. my protein shake can kill me..!!

omg !!! i have to call 911 and get to the hospital NOW..!!

    wish me luck guys..!!!

  • You're ill-informed. Muscle, whether from protein shakes or not, does not turn into fat, ever. They are two kinds of tissue.

  • Where did you live in the last 20 years? If you can eat 3000-4000 kcal and 150-300 g protein from natural sources, then you are lucky, but saying using nutritional supplements are bad is stupid. When someone is working out hard, I would not say that is easy. Ask any professional about supplements, someone who has something to show.

  • eating that much clean is really not that tough

  • I disagree with this concept. wieght traning is for building musle by putting the muscle under strain. thus causing heavy breathing. Arobic activity is for smoothly increasing cadio rythym. Neither one of them can acomplish both goals with out the other.

  • good video

  • i tried chin ups today..i managed 3

  • well, then keep on training to get some strength ^^

  • he shouldnt have to mention a diet its common sense to know that you need a diet while your doing weight loss routines basicly eat less then you do now but it has to be healthy stuff not pie fried chiken and ice cream.

  • thanx dude who ever u are and where ever u live ...ur advice was nice and really appreciated by me....god bless u

  • thnx for the advice. now ill go eat some fried chicken ice cream and pie. how come you dont talk about diet???

  • lol

  • Thanks for the advice.

  • As a warmup i jog for 5-7 mins and then i do combos of sprinting for 1min then jogging for 2-3. I do this 3-4 times, am i doing things right? At the end, my lungs are on fire and i cant feel me legs so i guess im doin somethin right. :/

  • If you've been involved in fitness you can see Chris has some good advice.

  • i use to train 15 years ago would my body remember and go back to what it use to do?

  • Yup, especially if you were young and your body was developing.

  • iam 38 weighing 15st 8lb i should be about 12st 5lb have i left to late or is there hope for me

  • I like how all professional trainers and people who study exercise and fitness in college usually don't look like 240lb meatheads. There like normal guys who look fit. Like myself.

  • Over all health is far more important then looking big. You feel like a million bucks and have tons of energy when your in shape.

  • Comment removed

  • please enlighten me as to why this is the case

  • A gym in my town consititutes a drug bar and a sauna. I try to do chin-ups but feel really silly. I also can only do about 3 which is pathetic. I can gain strength doing pulldowns on a machine but it's not going to give me that killer back or so I've heard.

  • Just keep at it, blackburn. When you hit the gym, check your ego at the door, focus on weight you can handle w/good form, & push yourself. I started weight/resistance training 10 mos. ago using principles similar to those outlined in this video & proper diet. I've dropped 30# of fat & I can crank out 4 sets of 6 pull ups w/perfect form mid-way thru my workout. 10 mos. ago, I couldn't do one.

  • ur my hero

  • i am a physician and it is absolutely insane that some guy who doesn't have any knowledge of cell physiology gives advices to other people just because of the only fact he has some muscle built.

i recommend you to go read a minimum of cell mecanism and physiology befor puting thoses comments on the web.

  • What are you talking about doctor man? You guys stand in front of hospital Emergency rooms chain smoking Camels so cut the BS! I'm not saying this guy is or is not qualified i'm just saying that those who live in glass houses should'nt throw stones! Feel Me? You western medicine dudes think you know it all and frankly, you don't know squat, Hey! that's a fat burning compound exercise! I bet you're a pencil neck! LOL! :-)

  • Hey I gave a neg response to the asshole rushenas and it gave you a neg response too. I know what you mean. I dropped a doc because he was fat and smoked. He didn't understand any of the weight training I was doing. Doctors only know drugs and surgery. Two things I always avoid.

  • Sports medicine is very diverse field of medicine in general. Not every biological process or phenomenon is accounted for yet.Take for example hysterical strength, where women have been able to lift cars to save their babies.Though well documented these cases have no scientific evidence to prove them since it would be very diffcult and unethical to conduct such experiments.

  • I believe the phenominom of freakish strength is in all of us and needs the most dire of situations to trigger it. Perhaps a dormant gene from our neanderthal brothers which posesses super human capabilities.

  • They call that spirit

  • Hey T. Thanks for the support. I am only calling it like it is...He has no right to come in here and talk about something he knows nothing about. He should stick to what he knows best, like prescribing unneeded meds & experimenting on poor innocent people. Go back to the er and do what you do best! CHAIN SMOKE! Iwould like to see what Chris C has to say.. Come out and defend yourself dude!

  • Thanks. The drug companies and doctors want everyone on prescription meds. They don't care about health or self healing practices. Did you know you can go to jail for advising people to eat citrus fruits to ward off scurvy? It's fucked up that in America only a drug can cure a disease. That's why obesity is now a disease. Excersise will be outlawed as a cure for obesity if we're not careful.

  • ahahha doctor man

  • Fuck off. The gym rats I know are very educated and are dedicated to fitness and health. Doctors are only concerned about kickbacks and drug subsidies.

  • Though I don't entirely disagree with Rushenas but there is still a big difference between knowing something and doing something. Plus based on my research even top PHDs in sports medicine etc. often have very conflicting opinions. One should have a blend of both knowledge and practical experience.

  • I would like to know how many reps.

  • ogh..i cant do any of that! XD

  • cool

  • ok well lactic acid doesnt burn fat for fuck sake . .dumb ass americans

  • Be sure of what you hear before you criticize... Nobody said lactic acid burns fat. There are several complicated pathways in lipid metabolism... some of which are affected by lactic acid. By the way, the American people typically do not represent the American foreign policy. Asshole.

  • can you explain how raising lactic acid burns fat, cheers

  • Lactic acid is evidence the glycogen is spent in the muscle stores so fat is the next energy source.

  • yeh but lactic acid is not one of them

  • I agree, this is stupid.Well, the more energy you burn working out(cardio or weight training or whatever)the more lactic acid acid you produce but what's the point with the fat?

  • When your muscles produce lactic acid it means that they have run out of the Glycogen that is used as a energy source for muscles. This causes the body to burn body fat so that it can make more glycogen.

  • The lactic acid itself is used to produce glucogen by the Cori Cycle. This is for anaerobic activities. The citric acid cycle is for aerobic activities. The also known as TCA cycle is for both catabolism or anabolism(protein, carbohydrate or fat) and is called amphibolic.

So you can burn fat by weights in cardio style. But it is better to do regular cardio to burn fat.Fat is catabolised by tons of other methods in the body.Lactic acid in aerobic activity is another one.

  • Thanks for the information, I really like understanding these concepts.

  • If i may suggest a little correction here. when you produce Lactic Acid, it just means that your metabolism is still using your sugar as the main source of energy, the only difference is that you are burning your sugar ( carbohydrates) without enough oxygen that's all.

difference between, anaerobic glycolysis and aerobic glycosisis.

that has nothing to do with your reserve of glycogen, i'm sure you're mistaking with Lipolyse metabolism witch is cetosic acid

  • a program like this may burn fat but cadio stuff is better, this stuff is more likely to increse lactic inflection point and lactic acid tolerence which is the burning sensation in the muscle due to lactic acid or more specific Hydrogen irons which creats a acidic enviroment within the muscle which stops contraction of the muscle... i think? (excuse my spelling) thats what i've learnt from school anyways.

  • LOL

  • According to the physical therapy dept. at my local hospital . . . resting 60-90 seconds between exercises is not cardiovascular exercise. True circuit training is resting only 15-29 seconds between exercises; any more than that and the cardiovascular portion is decreased significantly.

  • I liked the video. Some good sensible advice on safe ways to gain muscle. But for the looks, you may want to consult a cosmetic surgeon LOL

  • OK thats was stupid the last words moron..!

  • ok now listen 1/ eat healthy food! cook urself at home and learn whats good for ur body and whats not! through this process learn about the callories u usually consume in a day and then try to cut it to the minimum tht wont make u starve! then start exercising! cardio and weighlifting!

  • There is no food that is bad for you. Moderation is key. Your body needs fat and carbohydrates to function properly, even though the common misconception is that they are bad for you. Stop binging and eat like a human being instead!

  • it is not jst about moderation now u wanna tell me tht eating junk food in moderation is good?

  • if you dont eat 1 cookie from the jar, then it wont be as bad as if you ate the whole jar.. thats pretty much all hes trying to say to u..

  • if you eat*

  • dont be hard on urself take 3:p I wont tell noone!

  • Great routine. Any one tried it?

  • After reading a lot of the posts it seems that the cardio vs. circuit training argument is still going strong. Cardio is basically just moving your body continuously for 30-40 minutes. Circuit training is great cardio; it's just harder to do cause the upper body muscles aren't used to continuous weight bearing. Plus at a lot of gyms it's hard to circuit train when the gym is crowded.

  • I know, the gym is always packed.

  • After reading a lot of comments it seems that the cardio vs. circuit training argument is still going strong. Really any exercise that keeps your body moving for 30-40 minutes provides good cardio. It just happens that using the legs to run or walk or bike is easier than circuit training; but circuit training is still cardio.

  • nm about my comment

  • your very right :) , weight training exhaust ur metabolism. walking and running is the best Exercise :) . the point of exercise is to gain energy not to lose it.

  • cardio is the best way to loose weight. weight training is supplemental, more on strength and aesthetic.

  • funny how everyone leaves out the healthy diet part

  • yeah..ive seen people working out for years in the gym and they got massive arms/legs/chest alright but not much definition. exercise is not a password to pig out after a day's workout

  • It depends on what the individual's goals are. Bodybuilders just want to bloat their muscles to get big. Fitness enthusiasts do a lot of cardio with the weight training. Powerlifters probably do no cardio in order to lift maximal weights. Weightlifters train with short training sessions more often; 2 a days.

  • ur damn right! u cant exercise and still go to macdonals wtf!

  • really?? shit... i've been wasting my time! :'(

  • your very right :) , weight training exhaust ur metabolism. walking and running is the best Exercise :) . the point of exercise is to gain energy not to lose it.

  • I like cheese. if i eat alot can i still lose weight? by the way I like it on a mcdonalds dbl cheeseburg. pls let me know. by the way I have a full time job that I cannot work out at like you all day like yourself.

  • >.>

Are you serious? I really don't even know.

  • Poor knees!!

  • The only weight to burn real fat is when your body almost runs out of glycogen and uses fat for energy. There are also some materials that cause thermogenesis, burn more calories or more calories from fat. These are caffeine,carnitine,creatine(yes!),chromium,L-methyonine.Also it is heart rate.A heart rate above average at 70%-80% of the max for a period of time can burn fat.Weight lifting can burn fat but cardio and right nutrition burns the most

  • Thanks for mentioning the heart rate thing--I've heard "heart rate" over and over but the lightbulb didn't go on!

  • Although weight training will help to some degree in the since that it will build muscle thus making fat burning a lot easier but it will not make the whole kitten-kabootal. The absolute best way to burn fat is cardio hands down because it takes significantly more energy to run at a constant pace rather than lifting heavy sets and resting

  • I disagree. Weight training is by far the best way to burn fat. Done consistently, WT eventually causes your body to burn fat for up to 12 hours after your workout. Weights first!

  • LOL

  • Thanks for the tips. Always looking for variations to use.

  • whatevre guys. this guy is a professional and i think his routines are pretty amazing. so is he by the way.

  • Cool.

  • this video is a joke. i got a six pack just from laughing at it

  • how bout just running

won't that do just as good?

  • most bodybuilders dont like running... it makes your shoulders dissapear. i would just say swimming or biking... stairmaster or olyptical

  • Awesome. Somebody post a longer video of this trainer.

  • he has more vids on youtube under fordmodels

  • ok...cool little work out the chin ups are hard... but theres only a 85 lbs on the bar so u cant be that tired after the 1st set..

  • when you put reply it just means they get an email notifying them that you did

  • this is simply a bunch of crap shown in the video. as others mentioned before, don't press behind your neck, especially not with momentum from the legs. stay with the haevy Squats, Dedlifts, Military Press, Front Squat,Cleans,Push Press and so on if you want to get your heartrate up.

in addition do some bentover rows, pull ups and Dips.

    enjoy the "afterburner" .

  • Well, what would you expect from a "personal trainer" ? ;)

  • at least the knowlege that "raising lactic acid levels" ist not what makes weight training effektiv in burning kalories,.... i guess :D

  • dude youre absolutelt right...if you want to lose fat go to the squat rack 3sets 50 reps each with 40-50% of your max and feel the burn!

  • actually i would stick to heavier weights and less reps . usually form starts to suck with that many reps.

kalories burn whenever u get you heartrate up and involve many muscles. heavy squats will do that trick.

that will get your metabolism going for hours. also reperation of muscle fibers cost lots of ernergy for the next days. so if you are sour, thats a good thing. no need for any lactic acid here.

  • It is true what deacon says, you are putting your shoulders in a tough position. It is actually better to do it with dumbells. Squat down, pick dumbells, go up, curl them and then press them up. It gives you strenght and endurance if you 10 or more reps, what is going to burn the fat is the amount of reps, try to go for 15 to 25, adjusting weight in order to get that amount of reps.

  • agreed, heavy compounds are the bread and butter.

  • Finally, DO! NOT! EVER! press anything behind your neck!!! It is an extremely well known and documented fact that doing so places unnecessary stress on the rotator cuff, does NOT provide any "isolation effect", and does NOT have any benefits over that of the same move done in front of the face. You get no additional benefit, and a much greater chance for injury.

  • And now, onward to addressing more of this video.

    1) What is so special about the exercises you've shown? Why do they "burn fat" more than any other exercise?

    2) It is biologically impossible to "burn fat" and "gain muscle" on the same day, yet, at the beginning of the video, you say you plan to burn fat and yet hopefully "gain a little muscle".

  • Why is it impossible? I read case studies about people losing weight while building some muscles in a few weeks period of time. Perhaps it is not the same day, but after following the concept for a few months.

You just have to take care your protein intake while maintain a lower calorie diet while doing these workouts. I think human body is smart enough to handle this.

  • This means if you gain 50 pounds of fat sitting on the couch, you could very well have gained 10 pounds of (untrained) muscle. Protein also requires more calories to digest, meaning a high protein low carb diet works in two ways. Fats (lipids) have, literally, thousands of functions in the body, so you should NOT limit your fat intake. Simply make sure the fats you get are good fats (without getting into a full blown biology lesson on how fats work).

  • The diet is FAR more important than training. Your training should always follow according to what your diet is, NOT your diet following your training. A person who eats 5 meals a day will store very little of what he eats as fat, even though he may have a caloric surplus. This, combined with the fact that protein is rarely ever stored as fat, a high protein diet and caloric surplus CAN gain you muscle without exercise.

  • I've never seen a fit body on just a diet. I've never heard of anyone gaining muscle from dieting, in fact it's often the other way around, when you are starving your body it tends to breakdown muscle tissue to reduce calorie burning and keep you alive. Please respond. Thanks

  • You get around the catabolic issue of dieting by eating every 3 hours. As long as you do NOT allow more than 3 hours to pass between each meal, you're body will NOT catabolize its own muscle, and it will be far less likely to store fat as well. You can eat more often than every 3 hours, but let that be the "time limit". Every time you eat, let the 3 hour time limit start over.

  • You can indeed gain muscle from dieting alone, though it would be untrained muscle, so long as you're following the basic rules, such as eating every 3 hours, and getting enough protein. A complete protein will have 20 amino acids, each serves a very important fuction in your body. Your body NEEDS these functions to occur - hence, it breaks down muscle to get them if they're not present in the diet.

  • that is true also, you have to do both, for weight loss and or definition stay off the ice cream, Big macs, rice, potatoes, beer, bread, soda, spaguetti, coffee. lots of green beans, cabagge, brocoli, plain yogurt, chicken breast, sashimi. egg whites.

  • thanks! great advice. Will try it.

  • First, lactic acid is a result of using the 3rd pathway of energetics: glycolysis. Using glycogen leads to the waste product of lactic acid. It interferes with the cells ability to regenerate ATP, however, it has absolutely no effect on "burning fat" or "building muscle". It is simply a waste product. Second...

  • Well I dont know if I'm going to be able to straighten anyone out here, but I am a doctor of kinesiology and sports physiology. I dont know how I"m going to squeeze this into a 500 character limit... guess I'll need to make lots of posts...

  • Dr. i am 202 was 216 and 511, need to be at 190, i am built and have pretty good muscles but need to loose 10 pds withut loosing muscle weight. My question is is it true that coffee raises th esugar level in your blood not allowing the fat to be burned during exercise, heard this from Dr. Perricone on the public TV channel.
