Elizabeth Anderson (Liz) wrote this song. It was on a 1965 album by Conway, or Harold, no one that I can recall had a hit out of this truely great song, once Conway did it the rest would have been futile anyway, god bless Conway and his memory.
The first time I heard this song was when I bought a copy of Conway's Silver Anniversary cd. I originally bought the cd for track 23 (That's My Job), but this one, along with the 23 other songs, are added bonuses. Thanks for posting this!
@justaniceangel748 That is definitely the truth. To quote another country song, "I Couldn't Have the one that I wanted, I didn't want the one that I had". It happened to me when a girl that had the same name as one of my sisters liked me but I didn't return her love. Now she's married and has kids. Hopefully there will be another one someday.
every time i hear this song, it makes me think of whenever my dad would turn my stereo on to wake me up to get ready for middle school. It was on the first Conway CD I had. I just love that man!
Love all the videos you have posted. Glad to see there are still ppl out there that love this old country. Todays country will never match up to the old stuff. Thanx for posting.
i put this on repeat for about 6 times every time i have this c d on.

This song should have been recorded by a woman. Men are usually smarter than that.
