Alternate solution on the second puzzle would be to draw a line on the outside of the shape that causes the shape to be mirrored along one edge (any edge really since you have unlimited matches)

the second one is piece of cake if you counted the amount squares first...12 squares so the two shape has to be 6 squares, then it becomes obvious, thanks to that one odd corner.
