  • I have everything installed and I have the same graphics card, HD, and CPU as you I don't have sound :(( that is the only problem :(

  • hey man im an ultra noob just wondering...you burn the iboot onto a disk on ur window pc...once u install the mac does it erase all memory?

  • Nice video

  • i have a loptop, that sometimes crashes and i have to restore it. I have a new one, so instead of throwing the old one, or whatever, is there something i can put on a usb, and just quickly install mac os x on my old laptop? its an ASUS x50z, 4 years old.

  • I just want to note that in one of the tutorials that the LifeHacker guy wrote, he said all his hardware added up to $828.92.

With that money, you could of just bought a Mac Mini $100 ($699) cheaper.

    Just sayin'.

  • @TheFundRaiserBeats Lol, exactly what i was thinking! xD

  • @maniakk14

Even if the PC hardware is superior to the Mac Mini's, it won't run as well with Mac OS as a Mac would.

No reason to spend the extra dough on new hardware and spending hours of frustration trying to create a phoney ass Mac.

Just invest in the real deal.

  • any way i can use asus instead of gigabyt

  • You can install Mac OSX on allot of netbooks with the hackintosh stick available on ebay, if you search ebay for Hackintosh its one of the top items with the picture of a snow leopard, i did it on my dell mini 10v and its brilliant!

  • i just need a guide to run xcode in windows please!!

  • @XzCodmaNzX what's weird about it?

  • Yesterday i was a bubble and today i am a piece of rice!

  • Please Stop Saying "um" after every sentence, its srsly annoying!, couldnt even finish watching this vid, other than that it looked informative.

  • why you gotta spend like 2k to get a hackintosh? when i saw ppl doing it on those dell mini netbook.

  • @XzCodmaNzX terabyte isnt that big... i have 4 of them in my mac pro.

  • You do realize that your total is about the same as a MacBook Pro. If you're gonna spend that money, you might as well buy a legit Mac. At least that won't have any problems.

  • If you want a graphics card with a little more beef I recommend the GTX 260. After upgrading from a 9400GT I was surprised how easy it was to get it working was.

  • NO DEAL!

  • *Fail* "Install Macintosh to your Hackintosh Pc, No Hacking Required!" LOL

  • I have a MacBook Pro and there is a Snow Leopard install disc with it. Can I use it or do I need the generic DVD?

  • @MBP6705 yes

  • what are the main hardware requirements for putting mac on pc? i have a intel pentium dual core, radeon hd 5570? will this work even the USB?

  • can you still upgrade it?

does it still work for example with 10.6.4?

  • do i have to have a operating system on it before i do the hackintosh? like if i build a custom pc with no operating system and add my Efix usb v.1.1 will it work right away?

  • i also have ep45-ud3p rev 1.6 q9650,patriot ex performance 4gb,runs good

  • for the price you madaswell have brought a imac

  • Hey just wanted to show VMware and the reasons I think it is better than hack.

  • with that price you'd be better of just buying a mac, it be easer

  • @robmaldonado21

A hackintosh is a Windows PC like HP, Dell, or ASUS, running Mac OSX.

  • i hope to god ur dual booting hackintosh cuz if not y the hell would u pay for all this power one ur not going to use it.

  • @sd9800

Who said he's not going to use it.

  • @terrystutorials what can u do on a mac that needs that much power? u cant do no heavy gaming, its not going to make the internet faster, and photo/vid editing dose not require that much power, well unless ur doing 4K vids.

  • thanks for ur video, that was realy usefull and clear

  • just a question, what is a hackintosh???????

  • @MAChelp32 when you put the apple operating system on a pc. apple made their operating system non universal so puting it on a pc isnt just as easy as popping in a disc

  • Why in the hell would someone whant to install a Mac OS on his computer??

I mean i dont want to insult enyone...BUT WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?

80% of applications known to man are incopatible with any mac os...99% games known to man kind dosent run on any mac os......so mac os's are useless, why would anyone want to install them?

My hardware; Mobo - DG33FB Intel Processor - E4600 Core2Duo 2.6 Ghz kingston Ram 667. 1x1=2gb 160 GB SATA hard drive Lite On Super combo drive -IDE 8500 GT Nvidia Geforce XFX 1 GB On board Ethernet works flawless + I got a bluetooth dongle. USB mouse and Keyboard. Actually dual booting with windows 7 32 bit. If anyone needs help contact me :)
  • @trancepharma so your saying that you dont have the motherboard that he uses here and it still works?

    I have this PC:

    P5Q-E

    INTEL Q9550 CPU @3.1ghz

    9800gtx+

    wd 320 gb hdd

do you think it will work?

  • I think you have Asus, I m not sure about your Mobo, but its even possible to install it on a AMD I think you can install it, but I requires time and searching... :)

  • @trancepharma yeah lol i forgot to mention that that p5q-e is from asus... i am doing a lot of research and there seems to be a lot of info out there, you just have to know how to search.. thanks

  • i did this and as soon as i booted from the usb, it loads a mac boot screen but says i must restart. anybody know what could be the problemÉ

  • Do you have the exact same setup? Sounds like you are having a Kernel Panic from not setting the BIOS correctly. If it isn't the same setup, I can't help you - if it is the same, shoot me a PM - otherwise check out the OSX86 forums and just google.

  • can i use terminal of ubuntu to fix the usb drive? it also have the same command mac have

  • that looks good. is there a cheaper alternative to what you put together?

  • kinda silly since you need that mobo

  • You don't NEED that mobo, I don't have it and I can put hackintosh on my PC. This motherboard however does make it much easier due to the support out their for it.

    Any thoughts??

  • you can do it becouse intel as long as u got intel u can make a hackintosh

  • you suck!

  • YOU SWALLOW!!!!!

  • @jlr6 Everybody sucks! You Suck because you are an hater, I suck because I hate Haters, PC suck because Mac users like Macs, Mac Suck because PC users like PCs! Shit....Why people spend so much time hating instead of loving what they like the most?! GOD Dammit! lol..

  • Well, i must to say, i really really love macintosh, if i have the money to purchase a macbook pro with two videocards i´m sure i can do it, but is too much expensive,, there is no other thing to do that install hackintosh... .

  • idiot just buy a mac

  • my friend, i can say to mac users, idiots!! don´t use bootcamp, just buy a pc...

  • @digimikeh why? PC's fucking suck.

  • HA!

  • I can't believe people are comparing Apple notebooks to this behemoth. The computer that this guy built has 8GB of RAM, a 3GHz Yorkfield Quad-Core processor and a 9800GTX+. Try running anything really demanding on a $1000 MacBook and then compare it to this beast.

  • i followed this same guide. works flawless

  • you got ripped off big time

  • is the motherboard compatible with i7 and DDR3 RAM?

  • No it isn't, at least with the processor. It's a P45 chipset, but similar configurations can be done with i7's and different motherboards.

Check out the forums over at OSX86 Project/Insanely Mac for listings of working configs. Typically, when you nail down the right motherboard, you can toy around with the rest. e.g. Processor, RAM, video card, etc.

  • hah. i bet when you shop for a new comp, you check to see which one has the prettiest cover.

  • So he spent as much money as a 15" MacBook Pro would have cost, which would include a 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB of RAM and a 9400mGT? I think I'd pick his desktop any day over most MacBook Pros.

  • Hmm, with that processor and that amount of RAM? And that size display? And that size hard drive? And that video card?

Pay attention. The only "epic fucking fail" is your attention span. Nice try though, buddy ;)

  • you could have just bought a real one for that price.

  • Haha, look at the specs and tell me which one i could get. I am really dying to know. This is a better machine for half the price, and a good $600 was spent on not needed peripherals. Nice try, though.

  • good point. you have convinced me. im making one :)

  • yeah, you actually spent $200 more when you couldve just got a Macbook, and you wouldnt have to go through all this hassle.

  • @costellomaster:

    Ehr....

Tell me which Macbook comes with a 3.0GHz Intel Quad-Core CPU.

    ;)

  • and a 9800GTX...

  • Mac users don't know about specs.

That's why they're willing to pay anything as long as it says mac.

  • @cmontesi23:

Not all of them. But a majority just blindly follows what Steve Jobs tells them to do.

MrBit10 is one Mac user that seems to know alot about computers. You should check out his channel.

    He uses Windows and Mac.

  • True. This computer is probably an absolute creative powerhouse with MacOSX and a pretty powerful gaming machine under Windows.

  • @cmontesi23 Yeah. Talk shit that you know nothing about. keep going.

  • no, you keep trolling. Post some facts before opening your mouth. Oh wait, that's right. Even retards are not using the internet. I'm sorry little wibble Ryan.

  • You do realize that a Macbook has specs that are not even CLOSE to this computer right? Heck, most of the specs on this computer are better than that of a Mac Pro...

Besides the spec factor, how are you idiots comparing a desktop to a laptop?

  • Loved the sigh with the nuggets comment. I have a Gigabyte P55M-UD2 with a Core i5 and can't find anyone who has managed to get OS X on it.

  • i now want to run os on my pc. I have a high end i7 platform ocd. Im wondering is it too late or can i still get the hackintosh thing.

  • cool i bought a computer off newegg and it has a 20 inch widescreen display and 160 gig hardrive with 3 gigs of ram for only 200 bucks. : including keyboard and mouse.

  • Hi, can we install Mac OS X on a USB external hard drive and boot a PC from it ?

  • Comment removed

  • my motherboard also fried when i installed hackintosh. The mb was gs-g41m-es2l 60 bucks at newegg, but not a big deal. I'm building a whole new pc , 1 for windows and a cheap pc for hackintosh , so my main pc doesn't get burned again.Plus I have all the parts , all i need is a cpu and mobo . Picking up e6300 2.8 ghz and g31m-es2l. They are cheap but hopefully they get the job done :P.

  • OMG geez that sucks dude!

    The board fried?

  • Yeah man, sucks royally. Trying to be patient and get it back up and running.

I just realized the case I have had no case speaker wire, and the motherboard didn't have an onboard speaker - so I am thinking it is possible just the video card was bad.

Either way, it is sent off now - waiting on NewEgg to send off the new board and I will make the vids!

I'm itching to make another video soon, so might make one showing off the remaining parts until the FUBAR'd parts are replaced.

  • One problem though:

Apple's EULA does not allow you to do this either.

    From Apple's EULA:

You agree not to install, use or run the Apple software on any non-Apple branded computer or to enable users to do so.

  • I never said this was "technically" legal, nor do I really care. If we wanted to delve into that EULA statement, labels are a form of branding, and a sticker is a form of label.

Luckily, when you purchase the Snow Leopard Retail disc, you get two apple stickers. So I could easily flip that statement.

Like I said, I never claimed this was legal. Again, don't care. Thanks for pointing it out though ;)

  • Hey Flowster, and anyone else watching/reading the comments. I wanted to give you guys an update.

I got the parts from NewEgg, assembled the computer, formatted the memory stick with the "No-Hack" approach. Installed perfectly, Updated to 10.6.1 - went out for a victory cigarette break and come back to the computer completely shut off.

I RMA'd the Motherboard and the video card and am waiting on those parts to come in. I have some video/pics I need to upload, and more when the parts arrive!

  • You still haven't done your install video?
