You can install Mac OSX on allot of netbooks with the hackintosh stick available on ebay, if you search ebay for Hackintosh its one of the top items with the picture of a snow leopard, i did it on my dell mini 10v and its brilliant!

@terrystutorials what can u do on a mac that needs that much power? u cant do no heavy gaming, its not going to make the internet faster, and photo/vid editing dose not require that much power, well unless ur doing 4K vids.
@MAChelp32 when you put the apple operating system on a pc. apple made their operating system non universal so puting it on a pc isnt just as easy as popping in a disc
yes. it is a pc with selected parts so you can install Mac OS X. But often not all Functions works (like sleep mode). Also you cant install the updates normaly.

I can't believe people are comparing Apple notebooks to this behemoth. The computer that this guy built has 8GB of RAM, a 3GHz Yorkfield Quad-Core processor and a 9800GTX+. Try running anything really demanding on a $1000 MacBook and then compare it to this beast.
No it isn't, at least with the processor. It's a P45 chipset, but similar configurations can be done with i7's and different motherboards.
Check out the forums over at OSX86 Project/Insanely Mac for listings of working configs. Typically, when you nail down the right motherboard, you can toy around with the rest. e.g. Processor, RAM, video card, etc.

How about coming back with something else besides what you already stated in your video? You paid the same price as a new Macbook Pro, I'd call the a fail. Seeing as you wasted more time than it would have taken to just buy one. Get a clue fuck tard!
So he spent as much money as a 15" MacBook Pro would have cost, which would include a 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB of RAM and a 9400mGT? I think I'd pick his desktop any day over most MacBook Pros.
Haha, look at the specs and tell me which one i could get. I am really dying to know. This is a better machine for half the price, and a good $600 was spent on not needed peripherals. Nice try, though.

Picking up e6300 2.8 ghz and g31m-es2l. They are cheap but hopefully they get the job done :P.
Yeah man, sucks royally. Trying to be patient and get it back up and running.
I just realized the case I have had no case speaker wire, and the motherboard didn't have an onboard speaker - so I am thinking it is possible just the video card was bad.
Either way, it is sent off now - waiting on NewEgg to send off the new board and I will make the vids!

I just want to note that in one of the tutorials that the LifeHacker guy wrote, he said all his hardware added up to $828.92.
With that money, you could of just bought a Mac Mini $100 ($699) cheaper.
Just sayin'.

Even if the PC hardware is superior to the Mac Mini's, it won't run as well with Mac OS as a Mac would.
No reason to spend the extra dough on new hardware and spending hours of frustration trying to create a phoney ass Mac.
Just invest in the real deal.

One problem though:
Apple's EULA does not allow you to do this either.
From Apple's EULA:
