The only part left out is where Adam first learns of Castle Greyskull. You could've used part of the opening where he says "fabulous secrets were revealed to me the day I raised my sword and said 'by the power of greyskull, I have the power!' "
You seem to have left out the part about the wizard Morgoth. Had it not been for him then the Horde scouting party would never came to Eternia in the first place, thus Teelana would never have sought out Castle Greyskull, never met Kodak Ungul, and never became The Sorceress. Morgoth (minor character that he was) was the TRUE beginning of the story (according to the episode "Origin of The Sorceress").
@pgl0897 I recognize clips from "The Origin of the Sorceress", "The Rainbow Warrior", "Teela's Quest", "Reunions" (Episode 4 of She-Ra's introductory five-parter "The Sword of She-Ra" aka "Secret of the Sword"), "Battlecat", "Diamond Ray of Disappearance," the introductory credits, and "The Arena". I don't know where Skeletor's first line of dialogue comes from, though.
Well done. This collection of scenes is almost exactly what I have believe the beginning of a MOTU feature film should be. It should show these things happening just as you have here, but with the credits over top. Thus, catching the casual viewer up to speed on the background of He-Man's life, and the lives of those central to his story.
I've always wondered exactly how did Adam become He-man for the first time in the original series.
In the intro he says "Fabulous secret power was revealed to me, the day I held a loft my magic sword and said...."
Which suggests he did not know that he did not know that he would transform to He-man for the first time he did it.
So basically he just decided one day to hold his sword up and shout "By the power of Grayskull", even though he had no reason to think anything would happen.
So She-ra's sword did exist before her series. I love the MoTU mythology that predates Adam and Adora's births. There was so much story untapped for the 200X toon.
@JMan1380 yh, the back stories provided in She-Ra pretty much summed up that the Swords were in place ... the word is, had Mike Young Productions not gone bankrupt, She-Ra would have come into the picture, but the way the series "ended", I think they tried to tie up loose ends before being forced to stop production ... even the DVD series indicates the story w/ the Snake Men was to continue ...
The focus on the Snake Men was cool, but the armor on all the Masters...ugh. It got old. Though seeing Hiss' reaction to Hordak's return would kick ass.
Damn this music! Is there such a lack of musical connoisseurs out there that the ONLY music for EVERY video has to be this same damn crap every time? I have heard this music so many times before that it just ruins every video it's on, regardless of how good any other aspect may be.
Ï absolutely agree with QuartuvLarry!! Masters of the universe have one of the best theme songs ive ever heard and U discard it and replace it with this cliché that im fed up with soo badly
It's the theme to "Requiem For A Dream" composed by Clint Mansell
Despite my aversion to this music, I still enjoy a good orchestral piece made for a film score.
It's just that some songs get on my nerves after so much 5-note repetition, and no tempo or melodic diversion, such as the masterpieces by James Newton Howard or early John Debney.
Hey! Maybe it's my flaw! Johann Pachelbel's Canon and Gigue in D annoy me much the same way!
Wait so Adam's mother is from Earth? Hmmm...must have missed that episode. So Adam is a human-alien hybrid? How, if that's the case this would turn the physics world on its collective head.
I loved the original He-Man's female cast. They had the most feminine voices I've ever heard in an animation since. Truly perfected the form, whatever that might be. I know I can't exactly articulate what the He-Man story really is.
And so Teleena became the sorceress, and got the ball rolling. Too bad really that a third seaon of the 2002 series got axed because in that series teela would find out more about Teleena being her mother and who that mysterious soldier was who her real father is.
If you did all that on your own I am impressed. Without a doubt the best He-Man related video I have ever seen. I grew up watching the series and have all the one available on DVD.
This is fantastic- the best He-Man video I've seen on YouTube!!! Great selection of clips and of course, excellent music! The only bad thing is that I didn't find this sooner!!! Seriously, this rocks. The animation from the old series didn't really lend its self to epic videos like this but you really found the perfect scenes for the video!! I'll shut up now, but that rocked!!!
Wow! I love this song, and I love He-man! It was so cheesy back in the day, but I think it was undersold. It really is a great story, and you show this through your vid. I only wish the end showed what happened to Adora, as we saw her kidnapped earlier in the vid. Still, I understand time restraints, and all that. But perhaps one scene, even if it is of her being evil? Still, way awesome vid! Favorite!
I look forward to it when you do. I just started making vids myself, and now I see just how tricky it is. How did you get the voices to go over the music without He-Man's original background music going through?
I drowned out with background noise using 'Cyberlink Power Director'. I'm sure there are better programs out there that could do the job...I'm just not sure what they are...
Nice, I liked the history. Where are the episodes of he-man at the beginning when he finds out his power?
