I love your work, Mr. Arnalds. However, I feel as if each composition is only changing the same notes and repeating the same chords. It may be down to my uneducated musical mind, but each tune feels as if it has been played before. It is because of this that I end up leaving each video around halfway through. Please note this is only what I am saying and 3055 made me cry countless times upon your discovery!
@TooManyOnes I agree with you, I thought to myself - wonderful music, but why does every song sound like the previous one? Haha. It feels as though the vioin especially enters the song with the exact same note each time. But beautiful music, though!
It says in the Info: "Piano, electronics programming, recording, mixing and mastering by Ólafur Arnalds".
Another beautiful little number here. I really like the Mastering that Ólí does himself. All the Dynamics, Ambience, & organics are left completely intact. And the Music just sounds alive when played back.
@maximus2357 I am guessing they had to do several retakes on the camera to get different angles/shots and edit it all together. In some parts it seems slightly out of sync, but I think it is because they were playing on top of what they had already played, just to get the video. I don't know. Still, for a one day of work of recording the audio, shooting and editing the video, I can't complain. Plus the music is perfectly beautiful.
@ognistik there's definitely some shots of the string players playing things that aren't indicative of what we're hearing at the same moment. what matters is how gorgeous this song is. Thanks @oliarnalds for posting these songs!
@jalopy2222@maximum2357@ognistik This would be as Ognistik said - we have to do a few takes, and in the case of this song we didn't do it with a click track, so each take has a slightly different timing. If we had 2 days to work on the video this could be fixed so no one notices, but since we have only 7 hours or so to edit each video it becomes hard. But i can tell you that for the Limited CD/DVD release the editing (and sound mixing) will be revisited and some things like these worked on :)
