I was an avid fan of J/C.. I remember I used to stay late at night just to watch every episode of star trek voyager during my childhood years..I was even scolded by my father for staying late just to watch every episodes...but got so disappointed with the ending :(( but this video makes it a dream come true for me :)) thanks for making this one...

@tayajaneway Actually Taya it wasn ot an alternate future, in the final episode if you re watch it, the alternate future that Admiral Janeway changed was where Chakotay died miserable and lonely because Seven died in an away mission. The new timeline that said Admiral Janeway helped create, Chakotay and Seven were getting serious and they made it home together, both alive. Thus it could be said that yes Chakotay and Seven did marry, and in fact in a Star Trek Novel they were indeed married.

@tayajaneway Actually, originally Mulgrew was for it. I've read her opinion on a J/C relationship in a number of interviews. It was Berman and Braga, the two male producers, against Jeri Taylor, the female producer (who eventually got fed up with the boys club and left), Mulgrew, and Beltran, who were all strongly for it. Somewhere around season 5, after Taylor left, everyone gave up and decided it didn't make sense anymore - KJ was too self-punishing and C wasn't going to evolve waiting for her

@tayajanew Listen....hate to break it to ya, but most people hated the idea of Chakotay w/anyone! & clearly despite the overt relationship w/C. & Seven, the true love story, covert though it was, was Janeway & 7, they were just too chicken to make it part of the storyline. Remember "Raven" when Seven has run off and Janeway can do nothing while the crew figures out where to find her, Janeway stands in her regeneration alcove, i.e. stays in 7's bed.

@tayajaneway I was disappointed by C/7 too. I love J/C. Yes, 7 years is a long time to prolong a romance, but other shows have done it successfully. The Rachel/Ross relationship in Friends was stretched out over 10 years. As J/C were single until the very last episode, they could have done the ending most of us wanted. But I do think J/C ended up together. I think C/7 would fizzle out in the alpha quadrant and J/C would fall in love all over again out of a command structure and marry.

But I am not sure if they (or SHE) 'd admitted it openly under legal form, at least not 'till on board,in command line, in the DQ. She's more reserved and sane than that. But, she certainly could not have allowed herself the vulnerability of a pregnancy/having a baby child. If there's any sacrifice of private life in her situation, then it is NOT love/marriage, it is, maternity.

Oh no, P. did NOT have to give any of them to anybody else. A person is unique and not replacable or compatible with somebody else. If she/he is your destiny, there's no more question. You can only be happy with the life she/he can give you, whatever is that like, or whatever is your situation.

And they could have kids soon after arrived home...she was still not too old for that.

By the way, I just read a good fanfic in what J/C do have a baby on board, and it was quite realistic. I mean the way she handled the situation, fitted to the character. (And Ch too...) But she needed all the loyalty, devotion and assistance of the crew. It was a true probe for the 'Voyager family'...

This was an interesting experiment on KJ-s character: discovering further opportunities in the character. It was quite credible, so maybe I have to review my POV... :-)

It was written in 1999 so BEFORE the last 2 seasons of Voyager. (The team would have need only to read some fan-fic to know what their fans wanted to see (for sure, and for free) ...but they've missed the opportunity. See the result: the whole ST project is dead.)

I must admit, this was a surefire mistake in the last series of Voyager not resolving the love between Chakotay and Janeway. I know it sounds a bit cheesy, but a wedding on Voyager following some more build in their character relationship would have made the last season more special for Voyager fans.
