I haven't been able to watch hockey since his departure. No one, but forsberg, has had the complete package. Goalies had nightmares about his double clutch shots. He had moves on ice like Jordan had on the hardwood.
Such a great player, Sweden will never get back, everyone sits and says Gabriel Landeskog new Forsberg. Sure he will surely be awesome! But there is only one and always be only one Peter Forsberg. club technique, balance, passing, strength, goals, and above all. The biggest win I've ever way thanks for all Forsberg thanks for all the wonderful memories you have given the Swedish people and to everyone else!
Joe Sakic on Peter Forsberg: I got to start with Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux, all these guys. But there´s no one that I could compare him to. If you wanted to play physical, he could beat you up physically. He would beat somebody up, bang them around and then take the puck and make the nicest pass ever. No one else had that...
You should be ashamed of even comparing Peter Forsberg and Pavel Datsyuk. Number 13 is a phenomonal talent no doubt, but he isnt on the same planet as this man.
@zabadababingbong have you ever seen datsyuk playing... i mean that datsyuk is the best overall player. maybe if you watch the detroits play off run last year he was fuckin amazing... i think thats pretty even comparison.
forsberg was the passing wizard first of all, was a magician with the puck. him and sakic were gods together and made the avalanche what it was back then (with patrick roy of course) forserg was amazing but was plagued with a foot injury which is probably the worst injury for a hockey player and a hockey player is never the same after a long injury. always had alot more points than games played every season. this man if not for injuries was one of the best hockey players. haters gunna hate.
@CheeseMacro Gabriel Landeskog is looking like a young Peter Forsberg. He plays with a similar style, around the same size with speed and strength. Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog will be great for the Avalanche.
Year: Originally Released in 1995 as a single/ Re-Released as Clubbed to Death (Kurayamino mix) for the Matrix (1999) / Re-Released on 2002 album Furious Angels.
nik backstrom reminds me a little of forsberg because of his smooth skating and stick handling. backstrom can also hit but he chooses not to as much. if landeskog and backstrom combined, you would get something similar to forsberg
@aggbala don't be ridiculous. gretzky played +1400 games and got +2800 points and mario played about 200 more games than forsberg and got like 900 more points. its not like his legacy was badly tainted by that, he's still considered as one of the all time greats. sometimes i feel like he's a little overrated, but that's probably just cause it annoys me how everybody seems to overlook finnish players.
@EliasJordan3 forsberg is swedish -_-.... forsbergs peak was outstanding. just look how he can outsmart defensmen and goalies. all those who says he is overrated are those who didnt follow him in his prime 96-2004. when he dicided to come back, he was so torn by injuries. he is a true fighter to really try out so many times.ofc he did some amazing stuff from time to time in philly. but after 2004 he was never the forsberg colorado dicided to retire his jersy with. at least he tried.he was a hero
@aggbala Yea i know Forberg is Swedish, and it annoys me how some people rank him in the top 20 players of all time, and Teemu Selänne is nowhere to be found. I don't think Forsberg is overrated, but Teemu is so underrated, I think they are about equal players. It gets to me a little bit cause as you may know Finland and Sweden are rivals in hockey.
@EliasJordan3 teemu is maybe europes most succsesfull player, along with jagr. tho he lack the great individual skills of forsberg and the size of jaromir jagr. he is a brilliant goal scorer. he is faster then both jagr and forsberg. a typical powerforward with a great wrist shot and slapshot. forsberg and selenne are 2 types of players. forsberg is a playmaker. selenne a goalscorer. also, teemu hasent retired yet. when we look back on him we will see a guy who smashed records.
@aggbala: I hope you didn't say Selanne is a "typical power-forward." A power-forward is the Iginla, Bertuzzi, Shanahan, Morrow, Guerin-type player who is very physical, snipes goals as well as crashes the net to pot the garbage. Selanna is a prototypical sniper.
@EliasJordan3 It is quite stupid though to compare players from different generations of icehockey Gretzky and Mario were the end of an era and Forsberg was the beginning of a new era with faster and better overall skaters. No doubt Gretzky and Mario were great but they wouldn't score an average of 2 points per game in todays icehockey.
@Tjicketjena That's true. But Mario did score like 160 points in '96. Forsberg is really good, but Mario and Gretzky are probably 2 best players ever, at least in the NHL.
@EliasJordan3: Neither Mario nor Gretzky were even half as physical or defensively responsible as Forsberg was, but were great players in their own right. Forsberg was truly the most complete player of his generation.
Not to mention his mental abilities. Otherwise like Gretsky Forsberg was in his the best in important matches and did the real highlights like in 2003 WC against Finland...and always played very physical game.
Hey man awesome video!! What an amazing combination of skill and toughness. I sure wish my favourite players (Fedorov and Bure) were as good as him in their prime. He could do everything...great at holding onto the puck, amazing playmaker, great hands, great hitter, great backchecker, phenominal touch around the net, he could takeover a game by himself.
I think forsberg is very very close to the best hockey player ever. In the top 5 for skill. Forsberg, Gretzky, Orr, Brett Hull, Lemieux, Datsyuk, Ovi, maybe Crosby
THUMBS UP IF YU THINK FORSBERG IS THE BEST PLAYER THROUGH ALL TIMES!!! and also check my channel. im gonna put out forsberg highlights from his career. TY!
No way forsberg is better than datsyuk, datsyuk is a crazy good playmaker, top 3 best hand to ever play the game, and he is top 3 in the league defensively as a forward. he is the best all around player in the league right now and i think hes better than forsberg, not as dominant and physical but helps his team to win more and is better at the game.
@DatHowYzer forsberg kills dat man lol.... dats is good but he does not produce points like forsberg did... and he cant hit like forsberg.... know your stuff before you post retarded shit.
@cyborgdata forsberg played in a different league with a better supporting cast on his wings, if dats had a good goalscorer on his line and shot more hed put up numbers, he did with hossa. plus hes crazy good defensively and you cant say he doesnt have more skill. hitting isnt everything, when datsyuk wants to hit he can but he shuts people down as good as forsberg did and thats the point of defense. come on hes got a bunch of selkes, solid point production, and the best hands in the league.
@DatHowYzer dude, forsbergs points per game production in the reg season and playoffs says it all. Dats does not preform as well as forsberg did, it shows in his numbers lol. I like dats but dont be silly dude, forsberg was a way better player. Plain and simple.
@cyborgdata points arent everything, as a gm if i could choose either two to lead my team at the same time in their careers id pick dats, he is just valuable in every possible way. forsberg played in a different league than dats, if he played now his numbers would be in the same range and i dont think hed be as much of a defensive presence either. datsyuk is a crazy good two way player, if people gave defense credit like they do in other sports my argument wouldnt seem so far-fetched.
"The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the organization will officially retire number 21 in honor of former Avalanche forward Peter Forsberg." Fck yeah! He deserves it so much.
I've never seen any1 else being so solid like Forsberg when he tackle his opponent. Both skates on the ice nearly every time, even while possessing the puck.
FORSBERG over DATSYUK if both athletes are healthy. DATSYUK over FORSBERG if you consider forsberg was injured most of the time and datsyuk is the go-to guy in Detroit.
I found it surprising that some of Peter's numbers are very similar to that of Datsyuk's. They play a pretty similar game, aside from the fact that Peter was more physical.
@hejpare123 Martin Brodeur, Roberto Luongo, Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger, Shea Weber, Drew Doughty, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Rick Nash, Jarome Iginla, Jonathan Toews, Eric Staal, Mike Richards, Joe Thornton, Dany Heatley, Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Steven Stamkos, Mike Green, Patrick Marleau, Patrice Bergeron, Jay Boumeester, Ryan Smyth, Vincent Lecavlier, Martin St. Louis, Jeff Carter, Jordan Eberle, John Tavares.
@Liztivien He's just being a troll. If you want to see a long list of our best players just google it. Mats Sundin, Niklas Lidström and Burge Salming are some of our best. I can't find a Canadian player that is better than Peter Forsberg though.
@tapp3r LOL TRY Mario Lemieux. Ya know, the greatest player of all time. While you take a look at him you might want to look up a real defense man by the name of Bobby Orr.
@Liztivien Peter Forsberg, Nicklas Lidstrom, Daniel Alfredsson, Mattias Ohlund, Danel & Henrik Sedin, Henrik Lundqvist, Mats Sundin, Markus Naslund, Niklas Kronwall, Johan Franzen, Thomas Holmstrom, Jonathan Eriksson, P.J Axelsson, Nils Ekman, Nicklas Backstrom, Patrik Berglund, Andreas Dackell, Viktor Fasth, Tobias Enstrom, Tommy Albelin, Kim Johnsson, Andreas Lilja, Fredrik Modin, Mattias Norstrom, Mikael Nylander, Marcus Ragnarsson, Mikael Renberg, Dick Tarnstrom, Henrik Tallinder. Sweden <3
@hejpare123 And wayne gretzky, bobby orr, mario lemieux, joe sakic, jarome iginila, eric lindros, brett hull, bobby hull, rick nash, martin st louis, stephen stamkos, joe thornton, jonathon toews, ray borque, vincent lecalvier, marc messier, guy lafleur, maurice richard, patrick roy, scott stevens and many many others. Don't fucking diss Canada when it comes to hockey. Canada is the fucking best at hockey. Don't bring faggy little beiber into a hockey video either.

@Liztivien He's just being a troll. If you want to see a long list of our best players just google it. Mats Sundin, Niklas Lidström and Burge Salming are some of our best. I can't find a Canadian player that is better than Peter Forsberg though.
tapp3r 10 months ago
@tapp3r LOL TRY Mario Lemieux. Ya know, the greatest player of all time. While you take a look at him you might want to look up a real defense man by the name of Bobby Orr.

banklikefrankwhite1 9 months ago
@banklikefrankwhite1 If someone where to make a video of Forsberg's highlights verses Lemieux's, it would be an onslaught. Goodnight.

@hejpare123 Crosby is cool! He is not a defensive attacker like Forsberg, but he is definitely good.
