Once you are in the manual focus mode the Left and Right keys focus the camers. The camera zooms in to the small yellow frame in the middle. You then focus with the left and right keys.
Press the Menu button and under the Record tab the top selection is Focus. Press the right key and MF (manual focus) is the bottom selection. I wish there was a short cut.
I'm loving my EX-FC100, but still trying to figure out how to use it to the fullest. This is a great video -- very clear. Mind if I ask how you got your camera to focus in so close?
It is important to get focus before shooting High Speed Video. Here I focused on the feeder which only worked when the bird was at the feeder. The shot is also zoomed in which narrows the DOF. You can also try the manual focus.
That's so awesome! I'm getting one of these cameras, so I've been looking at videos on youtube, and this is definitely the nicest one shot at 1000fps! I guess because you're outdoors and there's lots of light.

I just bought that camera today for $240 and a 32 gig card off eBay for $30. I can't wait to use it.

Ahhh thanks for that info. I couldn't find it in the manual.
Your video is awesome, btw.

Yes I'm aware of that, but is there a way to adjust the manual focus without having to move the camera back and forth?

I am unable to find in the manual to set manual focus other than by moving the camera closer or father away.
Is there an adjustment that can be set on the camera?

Yeah, apparently as long as you're outdoors this thing is definitely worth $350. Thanks for the vid. I'm sold
