@TheSnapChick A panoramic shot is when you take multiple images in a vertical or horizontal orientation and then stitch them together with editing software, what you took was just a wide angle shot.

@DavidHeatonPhoto You are describing a stitched panorama. Stitching alone does not make something a panorama, and a panorama does not need to be made of stitched images.

@TheSnapChick well, if you don't stitch then you would have to crop so that the aspect ratio is long and thin, but you would loose quality, if the aspect ratio is 3:2 or 4:3 etc. then it is just a wide angle shot.
