@Cl3viin Yeah, more lumens generally means a brighter light. The reflector, lens, and some other stuff comes into play as well with how bright you will see it.
hi check the website of olight, throw of light of sr92 465 meters long and in your website sr92 throw of light is 1000 meters.... same as sr90 in olight website 1750 lumens,710 meters max throw and in your website sr90 lumens is 2220 lumens, throw of light is 1000 meters...i'm confused which facts is true...thanks
hey man great review of the light i had a look at your website at this torch and it does not say if its water proof it just says Highly water resistant does it have a IPX-8 Standard rating?? thanks man
How does it compare to Elektrolumens FireSword V? I'm guessing the FSV is more of a flood light, but at 3000 lumens on high, it must be quite impressive also... It would be interesting to compare both its beams...
just a piece of advice it would be nice if you told the lumen output on the different modes and if the lights are waterproof? plus runtime on all different modes thx.
What I was really after was the Polarion PH50 til I saw the price lol it is on another level completely though, so I'm trying to convince my friend to buy one as he drives a supercar ha ha tactics!
Didn't think so ha, why can't some hardware stores just stock these quality flashlights instead of the usual 12 candleppower bs that urns out after 5mins of usuage, I think folks would buy them after seeing them. Seems like you always have to mail order one, just gets boring after a while, however, I will order one from yourself Sir in probably 3 months time.
I did order an Artic Sypder 3 laser because I really wanted the wow factor, 10 miles wow lol still glad I purchased it.
Sounds good then as I was going to pay around £200 for an HID Oracle from amazon, olight is half the price, so you fully recommend then? thanks for advice btw it's appreciated, money is tight these dayslol It always amazes when you see those guys on here who have each and every flashlight i.e. Polarions et cetera must cost a fortune?
@Helios601 Depends on the model, but I have some ~2500 lumens HIDs that are nowhere near the SR90 in beam quality and distance, not to mention the 10-20 second warmup, burnt out bulbs, lack of additional modes, etc.
H: Can 2 lithium ion 3.0V 4000mAh and 2 NiMH or 2 Alkalines 1.5v 2500mAh Battery be mixed in series to make a certain voltage & install into Olight? Is it safe?
Example: 2xlithium (6v) + 2 x Alkaline (1.5) = 9v ( Both CR123 & same Size)
Is 2 Li-ion 4000mAh + 2 Alkaline 2500mAh = 2500mAh Max output draw in Olight total in the End? Is that correct & save to do it?
Also M31x use 4 Li-ion 3.7v RCR123? Can 700 Lumen Boost to 1000 Lumen then!
@DivineX9 This one runs for 1.5 hours regulated on high and won't catch anything on fire, plus it can throw the beam up to a kilometer. I'll leave it up to you whether or not the fire part is a good thing. :)
Do you have the Lenser X21 (1000Lumen) to compare with Olight
Sr90. (2200Lumen) I can't possibility see that Olight Sr90 2200Lumen is Brighter than Lenser X21. Do U have both of them to compare side by side? U can compare the Youtube Video. Type: OLIGHT SR90 SST-90 LED or: Polarion PH50 versus Olight SR90 Part4
Compare vs : Led lenser x21
or: LED LENSER X21 P7 TEST
LED LENSER Looks Brighter & further throw distance!
@JohnJ512 No, we are not a LED Lenser dealer. The X21 is unregulated, uses old technology, and cannot even accept rechargeable batteries. Their runtime claims are laughable at best, fraudulent at worst. You will have an initial burst of high output that will quickly drop off, instead of the same output the entire time, like you will get with the SR90.
@AmericanRattlesnake The X21 one is not regulated, not made for rechargeable batteries, and does not have the output of an SR90. You might get a lot of light at first, but that goes away really quickly, like with a MagLite. Also, their runtimes are ridiculous. 200 hours of runtime is not realistic when you are at 1% of your original output halfway through. LED Lenser makes great lights, but they need to update their technology.
@brian2952 They have the same battery pack and LED, but the SR90 has a significantly larger head. If you want maximum brightness and throw, get the SR90. If size is a concern, get the SR91.
@goingprepared If light is what you want then the SR90 is the choice, 2200 lumens, only HID lights are stronger (but they dont last more than like 5000 hours, an LED last at least 50 000 hours, and get instant brightness, HID got to be warm first)... but the SR91 is a bit smaller, and dont through the light as far, but it is still very bright, 1500 lumens... and then it´s the money, the SR90 is more expensive...LED lenser X21 is a good choice to(1000 lumens, cheaper etc.)
Flashlights, just like anything else are way overpriced. Ripoffs, how much do you think it costs to mass produce these? Not much, probably at least a 1000% mark up.
I guess this is the ultimate "because we could" light. It also kicks the pants off the S&R mainstay, the Maxabeam, which I believe is rated at 1000 lumens / 7.5M candlepower with a 90 min runtime. The Maxabeam also weighs nearly 20 lbs. I would love to see a comparison between those two lights.
@ustfu It was designed for search and rescue. I have a lot of customers that own a lot of land and use them for spotting far away objects at night when they are on their property. I think it is a bit much for camping, but I supposed that all depends on what you are willing to carry.
I've got a question: Is more lumens better or bad ?
Cl3viin 2 weeks ago
@Cl3viin For what? If you are reading a book, 2200 is a lot, but not if you are trying to spot something 400 yards away.
goingprepared 2 weeks ago
@goingprepared No im deciding about which flashing to buy and im just wondering if its better to have a flashlight with more lumens or less lumens ?
So from you answer i guess more lumens = more powerful ?
Cl3viin 2 weeks ago
@Cl3viin Yeah, more lumens generally means a brighter light. The reflector, lens, and some other stuff comes into play as well with how bright you will see it.

@goingprepared thanks again...which one is better sr90 or sr92...
yetey16 3 weeks ago
@yetey16 Do you want throw or flood? The SR90 will throw further than the SR92, but will not illuminate as wide of an area at once.

@goingprepared want both illuminate wide and throw, looks like sr92 for me
