  • Thank u thank u thank u !!! Love it

  • Thanks for this posting... :-). Like your other videos too (watched 3 or 4 of them...). I appreciate the perspective you bring.. ONE.

  • this gender war will never end because black men are always going to want to prove they are right in their logic and black women will do whatever it takes and love to get the attention weather positive or negative, so i retire from the so called gender war because it's just a big circle jerk

  • relaxed hair is not healthy hair.. HER IS NOT HEALTHY

  • SHE WAS JOKING DAMNN U TAKINGG IT MAD SERIOUS LAWDD

  • Thanks for sharing your perspective...I enjoyed listening!

  • Love the video; but I am so curious as to what you put in your hair to make it so pretty; or is it just your natural hair type??

  • Thank You. This video is very necessary.

  • Something in us compels us to be nasty to one another. I wear my hair natural because somehow straightening it makes me feel as if I am not being myself. I wonder if you can hear me. I am straightening my hair at who's expense? Mine. I am paying money and burning my skin, feeling pain....? Why? So I stopped perming my hair bout two years ago, but I dont hate on people who do. Nice make up.

  • @karolynruffin1 Actually it is not something in "us". it is something in all folks. Black folks are not the only ones being nasty to each other. I know we like to put other folks on this imaginary pedal like they got it going on and we are just jacked up. But that ain't the case. At the end of the day, Black folks are human like everyone else.

  • @karolynruffin1 No no no. I did not mean Black People. I would never put another race before mine. I meant people in general. You misunderstood me, but thats alright.

  • @karolynruffin1 i am sure that you are a beautifal sister. I salute you for going the natural way. plz share this with your sisters who are still destroying their natural beauty.

  • I want to touch your hair!

  • Love that Buddha quote at the end. :)

  • These are wise words!! And you're right; self-righteouness is such a turn off.

  • I love your earrings and hair butterfly!! GORGEOUS!

  • People, talk about things such as violence in the black community or these black bashers here on youtube.

  • Well just to expand a bit, the bottom line is WE ALL LIVE OUR OWN LIVES, ther4 we can do what ever or put what ever we want on our head or n our hair as long as it is not physically hurting or causing a detrimental problem . it is our head if people want to look "fake" (as some would say) then thats them! its their lifee ! I cant for the life of me understand why everyone wants to control everyone else especially things that dont in essence matter !

  • Totally agree, love the video. You said it perfectly, be natural, permed, texturized, relaxed, weaved up or all of the above for your own reasons. Not to follow a trend or be excepted by anyone. It's whatever works for you. Also, I LOVE YOUR EARRINGS lol!!! God Bless.

  • "AT THE END OF THE DAY" I love it. We do not need anything else dividing us especially not hair preferences.

    LOVE IT

  • Well said sistah

  • OMG!!! thank you for making this video i am sick of the natural vs relaxed, weave etc argument amongst the black community instead of arguing about which hair texture is better on a black woman we need to be teaching young girls and women like myself how to be LADIES and how to be respectable and dignified and to control your own lives and do what makes us happy and to do what makes us respectable members of society!!!! hair should not define a person AT ALL!!!

  • I loved this video. Thanks a bunch!

I'm getting my BC on Tuesday!!!

  • Looking in the mirror is actually quite easy for me. All you have to do is rid your mind of all these negative things they want to plant on you and any insecurity you think you may have. Be about yourself because this is a mostly a selfish world which is infact the reality. Beyonce songs all through her career havce been contradicting but she dont care because she still getting her money.

  • Speak on it Sistah!!

  • Honestly I don't care too much for Beyonce. Kenya Moore is prettier. And wears her real hair more than she wears weave, lol.

  • Amen Thank U sis :)

  • i'm a black man and i say you should keep your natural hair and take it back to the afro days. the reason i say this is because we as a people was making love more. think about that the afro brings out the black love or you could wear them dreads i love women with dread locks. they sexy!!!!

  • @i1rasta i hav to b honest with you. in my experience, i've heard many many black men speak negatively about a black woman wearing their natural hair. calling us nappy headed, telling us we need to get a comb, etc. this is something i've seen so much it's ridiculous. there are plenty of black women that do these things to attract black men not realizing that if he's judging hr by the texture of her hair, then he's not worth being with anyway....it's just sad.

  • Nothing wrong with wearing a weave. But if someone feels that they have to wear a weave all the time. Or that having straight hair is better then ultra curly hair, they have a issue they need to fix. Parents need to not say negative things about hair textures.

  • thanx!

  • i rock fro's & braids....but i LOVE, MY WEAVES 2! (mainly ponytails or the straight look)....NEVER ANYTHING OVER THE TOP...! i also LOVE my REAL hair also.. i think like u stated b4, at the end of the day, u gotta do u...aint nothin wrong with a lil versatility! btw, atl sistah, i think ur topics are on point & u are MAD funny! how do i subscribe?

  • sign in and click on the subscribe button up top and to the right of the video

  • I like weaves as long as it with kinky hair. I love my kinky hair. Most black women can't say that and mean it. It is sad though

  • Many Black woman I know do say it and mean it.

  • true indeed! i do wear my hair natural and its due to my own personal revelation. its nothing that anyone should be pressured into mos def because its not easy! you have to truely be ready to embrace what so many label as nappy or bad hair. though i am guilty of picking on my friends and family trapped in realxers, its most often a rebuttal to them picking on my natural hair. people that arent natural also go through the blah blah "why dont you perm that mess"lol its funny to me! i LOVE my naps!

  • I just tell people that my hair is beautiful. not all of us want to wear relaxers and weaves.

  • sista, going natural is definitely NOT easy! it takes a strong individual and a lot of self esteem to cut off all of your hair to do the opposite of what is 'in' to be bald for a minute, and then natural. I did it twice! the first time, I almost cried, then reverted to the perm, but got tired of the maintenence and cut it off again. Its all about preference! If a young woman likes weave, so be it. If you like natural hair, so be it. Do what will make you happy! The only 1 you have to please is u

  • women were wearing weaves before beyonce was even born so how does that make sense?

personally dont like weave but whatever, its not my hair

ur right the fro looks good on you...how did you go natural did you cut it all off?

  • I transitioned through cornrows and micros. I couldn't do the big chop. I was a coward. LOL!

But you are right, Beyonce came after the weaves. Folks just want to blame her for anything. So sad.

  • Had you always loved the afro? kids always want what's "IN" or "popular" .I don't think they pick up a trend from their parents. as u get older u find ur identity & hopefully feel comfortable with it. Beyonce & nearly every image we see aren't Afro. We are conditioned to go out and buy one. It's on the parent if they decide to let their kids watch tv for 8hrs.

  • Yep, always have.

Even when Thelma wore one on Good Times.

  • There were 4 Bk chicks in my class, I used to cry in 5th grade because I had puffy hair in. I wanted big bangs in HS. I had no game until I didn't "NEED" to be in The click. My son(4th grade) came home saying he wished he had straight hair. What do you do?

  • educate your son on his hair type and let him know his hair is in no way going to be straight. What kind of school does he attend?

  • THANK YOU!!! you got a new subscriber! :D

  • It also depends on how you wear the weave. Me I am natural but let's stop tripping. Cause at the end of the day it's not our hair.

  • Amen!

    Sistas do you!

I just recently relaxed, from being natural for years.

and I'm still the same strong black woman I've always been.

  • she defending beyonce like she get paid! beyonce is a sell out. i dont give a dayum how how healthy her hair is under that blonde mess. get a clue. what blk female entertainer thats in mainstream do u know who's wearing a natural?? quit playin.

  • I'm not defending Beyonce. She can do that herself. I expressed my opinion. You don't have to agree. Quite simple really.

  • @IsisPaperz......India arie.

  • black men are seriously confused

they don't like weaves/wigs/perms but I've witnessed many black men avoid black women with natural hair or tell them to "comb their hair". black men glorify other races of women for having "long flowing straight hair"

how funny that black men don't consider women of other races who wear weaves/hair extensions, get eyelid surgery, or dye their hair blond "self-hating". ALL men need to stop judging women by their physical appearance and see whats on the INSIDE.

  • I would just put it like this weaves are pretty or whatever But I do have more appreciation for the real hair. As far as dudes saying weave headed hoes there are natural headed hoes as well, lol. Don't let the hair deermine whether or not she wears weaves. As for Beyonce stop pointing fingers at her.

  • I hate Blue nails, Blonde hair, red lipsticks and yellow dresses on pigmented skin, and straight, greasy, shiny hair on African features. I don't like black skinned legs walking in bright orange high heels. I get tired of black men shaving their shiny heads because they ARE ashamed of their bald spot, gray or kinky hair. I am embarrassed seeing a Black skinned black man lapping after a super paled skinned trophy or trailor blonde caucasian woman or man.

  • WE Black women AND Black men are ridiculed AROUND the world for being TRAINED BUFFOONS who entertain others for laughs, which includes selling our own selves short. West Africans are trying to imitate our negative American ways , while we wise ones are trying to adapt to our own African culture.

  • Hair Nazis need to shut the hell up with their double standards and hypocrisy!!!

Are black men who get waves and s-curls self-hating. Are white women self-hating for dying their hair blond?!

Rock your weave, braids, wig, afro, twists, cornrows, dreadlocks, waves, curls, dyed hair~do whatever and FUCK WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS!!

  • Comment removed

  • She is not. Listen to the video again and read her statement again. You are confused.

  • "Are black men who get waves and s-curls self-hating. Are white women self-hating for dying their hair blond?!"

    uhhh yes!

  • I dig Beyonce...I don't dig all natural Badu...she's the one who seems fake to me and I'm an natural type chick

  • I understand though that hey weaves are a problem in our community. It really is. If you are wearing it ask yourself why.

  • Your video is so true. Everybody has their own paths.

  • I like your coral reef-like earrings. Im going to school for fashion design/retail management as well. Hopefully i'll have my own boutique one day. I love all things cute and different, hehe. cool video.

  • as for the wigs/weaves. Im natural and i plan to stay natural the rest of my life. If i want to change up my look, i'll wear a wig or weave, its just fashion for me, but i do have a reason why i went natural. As long as ur true to urself and know who you are, no one can tell you any different.

  • what school do you go to?

  • OMG, Thank you so much for doing this video. I am so sick of hearing so called conscious sista's on YouTube making these videos about how weave is a form of self hate, or how having locks makes you proud to be a black women, BULLSHIT!!!!! I dont wear weave but if I did it wouldnt be because I hate myself or my hair.

  • thats why the conscious community is not growing. its funny all the people with locs and dashikis are bitter and stuck up. malcolm x's wife had a perm. was she not conscious? did she not love herself?

  • This is sooo true! Why are these people so angry and bitter? If they are really are into 'self-love' and all that jazz why are they so loud, pushy and obnoxious about it? It's like that friend we all know, the one who's always bragging about how great he/she is when deep down they are really insecure and full of self-loathing.

  • I thought her message was it being unhealthy. Not because it may not grow but more so for the poisonous chemicals. She promotes fresh food as opposed to perservites. She have taken a jab when she said a weave doesn't match the hair texture. That's her opinion. she thinks its a waste of money and it's UGLY. Im mixed and get blond foiled in for almost 8 yrs. It HAS NOT GROWN past my shoulders since. It's POISON! maybe the message is it's UGLY & DEADLY.

  • the "cute factor" is so real. I never got on a woman because of that. I look good with a low cut caesar, and i;ll be damned if I stop getting one because of a segment of black america thinks it is a self-hating look.

  • Weaves are an atempt to avoid the shame of being a black woman. Black women are the only women who refuse to wear their hair like their men. We all have the same hair texture

(basically), self-hate has finally caused black women to appear unworthy. Truth is liberating.

  • That is your truth. Don't try to push your truth on other people. Liberate yourself. Others can do the same. Thanks for weighing in.

  • Not just beyonce, trina and other woman, But who cares.

  • I have always said that relaxer looks better on me but people just dont seem to understand that. Just like people dye their hair because they may look better or cut their hair etc...

some people are more conservative a big ol afro just may not fit their personality. And that indigo is a self rightous pompous fool!

  • Yes she is!!!! You took the words right out of my mouth. I cant stand her, and I dont know who told her she was in charge of the BLACKWOMENS HAIR POLICE,lol...

  • watch blaqueindigo's individualism vs. collectivism

  • Individualism rules baby yeah. All black people, especially black women need to read some Ayn Rand.

  • I love you!!! U speak such true honesty and knowledge that Black people need to hear! If everyone worried about themselves, they wouldn't have to worry about what Beyonce does and if she wearing a weave or not. I don't pay anybody around me any attention, but somehow, I hear my name getting pulled into gossip and conversations. The reason why is because people can't stand to see someone else doing good. If u ain't suffering or going through problems like them, then something is wrong with you.

  • afrikanlova- Half of these people that talk about Beyonce are no better than what she is. I am sure you see them time from time. And as for her hair people are not taking care of it or buying her weaves so why does it concern them? It's like you said "If everyone worried about themselves, they wouldn't have to worry about Beyonce." Obviously they care in some kind of way. Could that be a good thing?

  • I love you. This is one of the most GENUINE videos. Thank You.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATLANTA SISTAH! i love this video! i must support your boutique daaahhhhling!

  • wow...you..are...WONDERFUL!!! and I'm a virgo, and I think your butterfly is cute too.

  • Thank you I been preachn tiz forever now wow Black women do you

  • How the hell did I miss this video? Thanks!

  • im a virgo too!

    my birthday was september 2!

    :)

  • Cool. I hope you a good day. Mine is September 8th.

  • "all virgo's are real", so true! i'm a 'lil biased 'cause i'm one,lol

  • This video is off the chain! I agree with you 100%.

  • (cont.) im glad you mentioned beyonce' a.k.a everything that's wrong with the world today (emphasis on black america) i'm tired of her name being thrown in conversations that have nothing to do with her. celebrities are not to blame for the choices of individuals! period! the quote fits life soo well, who said it?

  • THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! thank you for being a person with some sense and showing it. people need to live their own lives!! why is that soo hard for some folks to do?? i went natural because my scalp is too sensitive for perms and most chemicals. most ppl call it being "tender headed" lol there was no other reason except my own personal desire to do so and the fact that, like you, i like the way alot of natural hair styles look on me.

  • milahsoul-people should live their own lives. good luck on your natural journey. atlantasistah has some aura about her that I like.

  • Wow!All she was trying to do was help the young sister on youtube who want to be so much like Beyonce. Do you not see how are young sister are behaving? No we is not the only nor main problem but it is one none the less, so why even make this video? I guess it's true....if your not part of the solution you are most definitely the problem!!!

  • Well, okay ... if you say so.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Have a great weekend!

  • Your HAIR is absolutely BEAUTIFUL...very very nice...very nice.

  • Love this video. But Bey misuses the spotlight she has because alot of the youth don't have a guardian to look up to and they look to people in the media who look like them, Beyonce got her nose fixed, implants i mean come on, and she isn't even upset about this L'oreal mess where they butchered her features and complextion , Bey can do so much better but hey, we are not all here to be learders

  • Actually, having met Beyonce, that is her true complexion.

  • I doubt that because i've seen older pictures of her before she became a big household name. But besides the complextion her features were altered also

  • Okay, whatever. I just told you I have met her. That means I have SEEN HER IN PERSON AND UP CLOSE. There is no need for me to lie. I don't work for Loreal. LOL! But stay where you are. Think as you will. Good luck to you! Thanks for sharing!

  • She probably had on the wrong shade of foundation she's good for that sometimes. On blog site there were 2 people who have claimed to see her in person and both expressed that she is not as light as the AD made her appear. I haven't seen her but allegedly you have so go with what you half saw. But the bulk of my first comment went unaddressed i can understand why though. God bless babes.

  • Okay, so, I went back to your first comment. I think my video addressed this. Parents need to step in. Beyonce is not the parent to these so called young girls. No, everyone is not meant to be a leader. It is what it is. These people are entertainers. Do you volunteer at any youth organizations?

  • I actually just finished up a youth program for black young women that took place over th summer.

I wanted to know about the children and teens who don't have a positive anything in the home and all they have to look to is the media. If you cannot answer that or you haven't thought about it just say so it's alright, i just thought maybe, since you did touch on it that you would.

  • No, I have thought about it. And I have answered it. Could it be you just don't like or agree with my answer? That could be the case and that would certainly be fine with me. These people are entertainers. They are not role models. Some pick up the helm, MOST don't. Yeah, it would be great if they did. But I have learned that putting MY expectations on other folks is unfair. Everyone has their own path.

  • You expressed that they should look to their parent/gurdian and i asked you what if that is not possible, you did NOT address that. But it's ok, i can tell it will go unanswered. If i had an answer to gree or disagree with i wouldn't have asked again.

But, not only is Beyonce` a disgrace to the black females she's a disgrace to the black community. I don't expect her to set an example 'anymore' but she can at least stay true to who she is.

  • Your Beyonce insults don't move me. I'm not her nor a family member.

When one has no guardian, then the community has to step in. You say you participated in a summer program. That is good. I think one has to be about what they preach about. So, you have started in the right direction. I don't look for others to take up the mantle of what I as an individual deem important. I have to do what I can and move on. I have learned that sometimes what is important to me is not important to others.

  • Insult? Insult to her community that's about it, I haven't insulted her once, all i've done was give facts and contructive criticism. Take it as you will.

  • Oh ok. Well thanks for the conversation. Have a great weekend!

  • Thank you, and i hope you do the same

  • I agree with you when you said that these people are entertainers, not our role models. I think that right there is the problem with a lot of people. They make these celbrities their role models. By doing that they wear their hair like theirs and try to act like them. Like you said, "Every one has their own path." What they should do is go with it. The choice lies within them. Not celebrities.

  • I agree with your beyonce statement. Young women should not be influenced by her hair wise. It starts within the home. Not these celebrities or video girls you see on music videos.

  • From my overstanding natural is a why of thought....not just a hair do.

  • Great vid. I feel ya girl basically be who you be.

  • Thank you for this video. Everything that you said is true. People just need to respect each others choices. The most important thing is that you do you. Everyones journey is different. It's wrong to judge people.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VID!!!!

  • Great vid...well said!

  • Wow. I had locks for two years, and as a male, I didn't know too much about the "hair" process. During that time I learned a ton about hair. My only gripe with some women, like my mom, is that they'd rather be bald than give up their relaxers because they can't stand a "nappy head." My mom stopped perming her hair because it continuously breaks, however she's so ashamed of her intrinsic attributes it's saddening. To me, that's when perms are a problem. But if your hair is healthy go for it?

  • You are on point with this video! You are funny too. 5 stars!

  • sure she is

  • im rockin the natural Afro too have been for a looong time

  • Ouch! Preach it...damn! Five stars, favorited!

  • Thanks Jia! LOL!

  • You're welcome. I didn't know you were a vlogger. Im subscribing now!

  • five stars my ass

  • you have problems with this video? please share ...

  • should this Do You philosophy extend to other aspects of life?

Should Black Men also adopt this "DO YOU" philosophy on all things in their life?

  • Why would it not?? Get to your point.

  • why do sistas get angry when black men exclusively go for women of other races? When this "DO YOU" philosophy should apply to everyone.

FYI, I am not one of those brothas.

But I will defend their freedom to date with women who do not share the same complexion as them.

  • If Black men want white women, DO IT! LOL! Please do it. We definitely don't need these white women loving Black men pretending by being with Black women.

  • we also don't need black women are dating outside of their race too right? we should cast them off aswell right? no double standards..... if black women have a problem with sell-out black men dating other races of women.... yall gotta condemn bw who date outside like: halle berry, venus & serena, garcelle beauvais, diana ross, zoe saldana, one of the mowry sisters, and many more who I can't think of right now.

    are you wit me?

  • its a hair style...

remember...i am not my hair nor my skin. i'm a person, the person deep within.

  • Why cant a black woman wear a weave just cause she thinks its cute or cause she likes it y does it always have to be self hate or whatever..but if a white girl get her hair done its all good

  • i agree with you but at the same time i guess i have trouble believing that it isn't self hate. I mean my hair is natural and ill straighten it from time to time but i don't want to be white but i guess that i want to know if women would wear weaves that resemble natural hair. I could be wrong but i'm not sure. i do hate that ppl believe that only black women wear weaves that's not true at all white women wear weaves and get tans but they get away with that it seems unfair.

  • very, very intelligent woman

  • You are right there are many of brothas with locs that are with white girls.

  • Agreed sistah.

  • Do you! 4 real!!! I also like natural hair, but I also understand everybody doesn't. We need to rise above the hair thing as women. ALL is VANITY.

  • now you right on that! we can't always blame entertainers for why people do what we do. see that's the problem we always want to blame the next person instead of looking at ourselves in the mirror.

  • YOU GO ATLANTASISTAH

  • AtlantaSistah

You are sooo right! Black WOMEN DO YOU!

Oprah does her! Shoot! What would Oprah look like without all that makeup?

Do what you want to do to make yourself "look" like the "you" you want the world to see!

My momma did "her". Of course, her hair fell out by age 30, & she's still bald now at 68! Wigs are cool!

Who cares if your hair falls out? It's none of their dang bizness!

    EV

  • Sorry, forgot... Hey, women should do what they like no matter what people think, any and all women. Asian to Russian to Native American indian to Black. We all have our style. I like most of the weaves, they're very pretty, I just find I don't need one because my hair is so goddamn thick. X_x; LOL I have to straighten it.

  • I love those earrings!!! :D

  • THANKS!

  • So now tell us... how do you get those bigger curls in the back??? And which products work best for you??

  • I twist my hair at night and sometimes I set the twist on paperbag rollers. I use Carol's Daughters Hair Butter, and some of the products from the Profectiv line.

  • Very Nice!

  • Eloquently put. It's going to take a minute for people in general especially black folks to be independent thinkers and action takers. You have to do what's right for you and not give a flying fcuk what anyone else thinks or says. So glad to see common sense is not completely lost.

  • Are you natural? I was just wondering, if you are why you encouraging black women to wear weaves if you are natural?

  • Did you actually watch and LISTEN to the video?? I clearly stated I was NATURAL. Me being natural has nothing to do with sistahs that wear weaves. I am not encouraging Black women to wear weaves. I am encouraging Black women to follow their own individual path. NOT the paths of others on their own self righteous journey. If that includes a weave, so be it. It does NOT lessen the person. Thanks for weighing in.

  • YOU ARE REALLY RUDE ATLANTASISTAH

  • OK. But back to the video and my comment. Life goes on for you. Thanks for dropping in.

  • like the butterfly

  • i dont wear tracksz nd fake ponytailsz becuz i dont like it i have a short hair hairstyle becuz i wanted dat viriqn hair fa my hair ta qet betta nd it was sumthin diffrent nd i like it nd like da styles yes like yu said do yu off of what yu like nd what yu want not becuz yu trynna be like sumone on tv or becuz sumone isz cominq down on yu nd how yu doinq your hair plz dey dont matta yu are SO riqht

  • LOL. I think some women are quick to preach to women with perms once they go natural which is bananas. But I do agree. EVERYONE DO YOU! Whateva makes you happy life is way too short.

    -Venus

  • Thanks for your comment!!! I think that is sooo true about going and being natural. A lot of people think a sistah will go natural because you are getting back to your roots and you that you also didnt know yourself before. I have known my heritage and roots when I was getting a perm. lol.. I went natural because it looks nice on me and it keeps my hair thick. When I want my hair straight I just go to the domininican shop. LOL

  • THANK YOU!!!

Lady, you spoke beautifully and I appreciate this video! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • EXACTLY! This is wonderful. Won-der-ful! As Andre 3000 succinctly said, "every perm ain't for the fall and every dread ain't down for the cause." We could talk about this (our hair and what it may/may not mean forever. *SIGH*

Is she not a "real Black woman" if she wears her hair relaxed/pressed/in a damn jheri curl? Is her not wearing a weave evidence of her being less self-hating? Is she fake if she wears synthetic dreads or an afro hair piece? Please. Enough. Do YOU!

  • Gurl, you rock!! & ya hair is hawt, luv ya :)

  • Your hair is beautiful :) Your a black woman! You need to school these young black women. I need a real black woman if i plan to make a real black man.>:( Black women stop trying to please society.

  • *two snaps at your comments about entertainers being role models*

i hate when people blame celebrities for everything, it's stupid...

  • So True! I wear my hair natural also but I would never try to force my beliefs on anyone. That's something each person has to decide for their own.

I love your videos! You're always so real and down to earth.:)

  • Preach it AS preach it! You come on YT just singing the truth? I love watching your videos! I was havhng withdrawl symptoms because I had to wait for a new update lol! You need your own church for real! Also loving your look in this video! Aaris Zilton!

  • LOL! Aaris Zilton!! Cute! I love it!

  • Girl I love your realness. I got a relaxer because I got in a bad car accident and I can't do my own hair. So, it's manageability that counts for me. "The cute quotient"...priceless girl. lol. I will be using that phrase. lol.

  • P.S. : 90% of Hollywood wears weaves regardless of race, non-black women curl or dye their hair too all the time aka change styles, but why are black women always criticized? It's funny, but hey, again you made a great video, and I'm natural just like you but I have no problem with relaxed hair and weaves.

  • This is an AMAZING message. And what I find interesting is that, nobody tells Bone Thugs or Kat Williams or Al Sharpton that they have self-hate when they relax their hair, but black women are always criticized! Nobody will tell a non-black woman locking her hair or adding braids to her hair that she hates herself and wishes she was black, yet black women with relaxed hair have self-hate? as india.arie said we are NOT our hair!!

  • You are real good. And your hair is nice.

  • Thanks!

  • Nice quick response. You are cool.

  • You went NATURAL, is that a statement? I thought that was your hair? Only God can judge, if a person feels judged, God has judged them! Judgment is always taken out of context, people especially use it as a defence mechanism. Once you talk about it you have SET a standard, which is I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK! so i'll ask you why make a video? i know you...don't care! lol Free thinking has no end! its called self righteousness! Righteousness is in the Book of life (Bible) Shalom!

  • Yes, it is my hair. Why would the statement confuse you?? I did not feel judged. I felt as if the tone of the video in question was judgemental. I made the video because I wanted to make the video and to address the situation. Thanks for weighing in. Toodles ...
