Hi Brenda , I'm from Sydney and my eclectus is a Red Sided , what is Riley ? do you know , as he looks bigger than mine , mine also talks almost as much as Riley but he's still learning , he's only 2.5 years old.Tell me does Riley still talk when you get visitors ?? mine just clams up , he's not shy because if you let him out , hes all over the visitors checking them out

thanks for your msg coolguy, yes pinoy ako so for fun I taught riley some common pilipino expressions. he knows "aray" when in pain as in "ouch" or when or literally for negative things i usually say "bastos ka" meaning "rude"

Brenda you are the best teacher, Eclectus parrots are the hardest to teach, I am not aware of any bird of the same species to talk so well.

I know you asked Brenda but yes, Riley is an eclectus. A beautiful eclectus and obviously very intelligent. I have one too, a female, but she is in a bird sanctuary now. When she matured and got a mate she didn't care that much for human contact anymore. She seems happy and that is what matters.

Rosie is the red/purple bird you see in this vid. She is the female eclectus. On Riley's web page there are still photos of her as well as some of the things she says. Brenda says Rosie and Riley talk to each other all day long LOL. Toooooooo cute!

Riley is a big wonderful parrot. I don't know if I am spelling this right but years ago in August of 1967, in the US Navy, I was in the Philippians and learned the word- Malaking Bagi - I hope means, "Big Thing".
