i just got the game and its a amazing all but am having alot of difficulty with the cancelling...i cant do it properly...i can do a focus attack, cancel it by dashing forward into his ultra...but i can do it in the combos you showed...btw im using a controller but waiting for my stick to come...any help thanks.

when you do your next guide are you gonna show the FA lvl 2 or higher, wait until they drop a little bit then fadc to full ultra 1? I found out that if someone gets hit with a focus that it does more damage, than level 2 or 3 focus into ultra. Also are you going to show things that have been added to ae in the next vid?

How does this help us figure out hot to pull off a Shoryuken? Every time I try this, I get either a punch, or a Hadouken.

I will be doing a revision of this guide when Super Street Fighter AE hits which will be in june some time, a better guide is in the works, which hopefully if all goes through will have the hands showing the timing etc. Also you have to do the motion of the shoryuken while your doing the combo so for eg... cr jab , cr jab , cr jab + motion for the dragon punch + fierce.

hold down/forward while doing cr. jab cr. jab cr. jab..then qcf fierce punch...you hafta cancel the last jab to combo the dragon punch..so u input the qcf+punch during the animation for the jab.

(dragon punch shortcut = hold down/forward then qcf)

@enditend u have to hold down foward while your doing lk and lp, then right when the lp connects you do the shortcut motion with the joystick, which is: downfoward > down > downfoward > HP.

@BOBBYLIGHT123PsN When you do a Focus Attack (medium punch + kick) and then Dash Cancel -when you unleash your focus attack, quickly double tap left or right to dodge, and if you have two EX bars, you can cancel an ATTACK such as Shoyruken to allow another attack at the cost of those two bars.

"overheards" are called crossovers and you go into a weak shoryuken to setup for an ex focus cancel and ultra to get the best use out of them especially with ken

when you do a move and the opponent does something and you beat it straight out. You'll see a counter hit message appear on the screen on their side.

Great tutorial. I have to say I find all the 'flowchart' Ken stuff a bit tiresome, personally. I very seldom meet anyone online who even plays Ken, never mind a flowcharter. It seems to be something insecure players mention to generate solidarity with others of their kind. As ever, I might moan when I lose but I always know it's because I'm not good enough. pretty good tutorial for beginners, but some things are missing

like that mk air tatsu does cross up from much greater range and still hit confirms,

or his air hp as a cross up, which is much, MUCH, MUCH better than the mk and is actually one of the best cross ups in the game

i decided to keep it simple here to be honest, aerial Tatsumaki does cross up from a larger distance but agianst shotos and sagat your just asking for a upper/shoryu, jump in fierce is a good option, but yeh I kept it simple and just wanted some of the dp mashers to go past that phase. Oh yeh thanks for understanding btw, we could use more good Ken players.

I use mostly the forward/mid kick hurricane, do it just as you are about to pass the opponent' head, hit training mode and get a feel for the timing.

Kara requires the throw momentarily after the MK, I heard? Practically, it looks all at the same time, but try delaying a miniscule amount to improve consistency.

Hmm to be honest James I never notice any delay in the timing, usually for me its just toward mk and throw at the same time, my fingers hit all three at the same time, I try and incoporate Kara in to tick throws so I try and keep it tricky with his throws. lol your probably better than me, Im just learning Ken out at the moment, I play Ryu, and Boxer. I mainly liked Ken because he gives me the chance to break loose and be agressive, I should try and post matches to see what I've learned so far,

Sure, when I've got time lets play some gaames, btw I don't main Ken :O . I just wanted people to know there is more to Ken than just sitting back and throwing fireballs, I mean he is supposed to be played agressive, hiss fireballs are so slow compared to Ryu/Akuma/Gouken (non charged)/Akuma/Sagat
